"I don't know how you do it. I have fur and it's still cold and you're missing clothing on half your limbs." Sumi padded along beside Arsinoe as he patrolled, trying to ignore how cold his paws were. He felt bad for Arsinoe who's clothes didn't seem like they would be all that warm given the still slightly snowy weather. Arsinoe shook his head slightly and looked down at his feline companion. "Because I run hot anyway. It's a bit chilly but I've been out here in a few feet of snow before so." He shrugged. He'd always been mostly okay in the cold and powered up like this he had a feeling his powers also kept him warm. "Plus there's the fire." he tapped on the lantern hanging off his belt. Sumi looked up again at the noise. "oooohh. Is it really that warm?" He paused and stretched up to put his paws on Arsinoe's leg like he was going to be able to reach. SSBrosB if you want to have Alphubel just run into them that's cool!

Alphubel was out on patrol. Or perhaps a better way to put it would be "patrol" since he couldn't really fight at all. He hadn't had any training and had mostly been thrown into all of this knight stuff without a parachute, so he mostly learned by losing. But at least he was learning? He sighed. He wasn't sure why he had even been awakened as a knight and wasn't even sure what he was doing, and yet here he was, acting like he actually knew. Then, he sensed a senshi signature, and it was the nice kind. Or at least it was a white moon senshi and not a corrupted one. He smiled a bit to himself, hoping that he might be able to go and well... help whatever the other was doing, and so moved to where the aura was coming from. However, when he got there he was quite surprised. There was a senshi, but there was also a talking cat? What? He had a shocked look on his face. He had never seen a talking cat. He walked slowly towards them, hoping that he wouldn't scare or surprise them into anger. When he got close enough, he decided to try talking to them. "Err... are you out on patrol tonight too?"

"There is a fire going in it of course it's hot." He resisted rolling his eyes at Sumi and to keep the kitten from sticking a paw somewhere hot n the lantern and hurting himself he leaned down to nudge the kitten back on his paws. "Mostly the metal is warm and it's keeping my clothes warm. Don't touch it and hurt yourself." As he was straightening up he heard a voice and almost cursed. He wasn't supposed to let people sneak up on him. Thank the stars it was a Knight and not something worse. "Yes but it's been a quiet night." Sumi squeaked and scurried behind Arsinoe's legs, peering around them at the newcomer.

Alphubel cringed a bit. Seemed that they hadn't noticed him anyway. He hadn't meant to scare them. "Sorry, I wasn't trying to surprise you guys." He was feeling embarrassed at this point. Maybe he should just go? "I was just wan-I mean patrolling and I sensed you guys and I thought that maybe I could join you?" He was blushing quite a bit now, his face turning completely red. It was quite the contrast to the blue that he was wearing. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." He probably would just run away immediately if they said they didn't want him near them. He really didn't want to be a bother to anyone. Soon though he was looking at Sumi with curiosity, his blush going away a bit. "I've... never seen a talking cat before." He said, almost at a whisper. It seemed that a talking cat was normal to this senshi.

"No it's fine. I'm just not used to anyone sneaking up on me. Usually paying better attention." He looked down at Sumi, partially blaming the kitten for that one. Sumi hadn't wanted to be left at home but he'd proven to be a distraction for most of the night. Probably best to leave him at home until he stopped being so jumpy and so curious about everything. Taking a look at the knight he smirked slightly. He'd met a few more of them now that he was back in DC but this was the first one who looked like they wanted to go hide. "You're ... new at this aren't you. And yea, it's a Senshi thing. Kinda."

Alphubel relaxed a bit, his shoulders drooping into a more comfortable position. Well, it seemed that he hadn't bothered them too much. "Sorry about that again." Really, he wasn't usually this shy, but with all of this knight and senshi stuff going on and being thrust into it with no guidance whatsoever, he was being extra cautious about everything. "Yeah, pretty new. Don't really know that much, but I'm trying at least." It was embarrassing to admit. He tried to sound a bit more confident, but it didn't come out that well.

"I seem to be hearing that a lot lately. Pretty much everyone I run into who's new says they have no idea what they're doing. Someone is to blame for that." He eyed Sumi again before looking back up at the Knight. "I'm Arsinoe, and the kitten is Sumi. You are?" Sumi at least had a bit more of his head around Arsinoe's leg again so he could see the knight as well. The kitten was curious and Arsinoe didn't seem like he was afraid of the newcomer. That meant they couldn't be dangerous right? "It's not my fault." He huffed softly. "I didn't awaken them."

These guys seemed nice at least. "Yeah, it happened kind of suddenly when a classmate and I were attacked." And unfortunately he hadn't met anyone as of yet that had been willing to teach him about knighthood, so he was feeling a bit lost. "I'm Alphubel. It's nice to meet you two." He smiled at the cat, though it couldn't be seen through the scarf. "It's okay Sumi. It's interesting seeing a cat like you though."

"Oh, right." He ran a hand through his hair as it occurred to him while Alphubel wouldn't have seen a mauvian before. "You guys don't need them to get your powers. You should probably count yourself lucky for that." He liked Sumi. He really did. But sometimes the mauvians were more trouble than they were worth. "I can't say I know much about being a Knight but you're on the same side as me and that means we're fighting the same fight." Even though they were quite different the Knights were good allies to have. Sumi peeked out a bit more and sat down slightly to the side of Arsinoe's foot. He was at least still protected that way if something went wrong but could actually talk to the knight too. "There's a lot of us. You've really never seen one before?"

Alphubel nodded, though he wasn't really sure why. Perhaps it was just silent agreement that a mauvian hadn't changed him. And the senshi were on the same side, or at least the white moon senshi. He had been told of others, but hadn't really seen them as of yet. "I'm glad it's not just us out there fighting at least." He replied, looking at the senshi again before moving his vision towards the "mauvian". He wasn't exactly sure what a mauvian was. He bent down a bit, just so that Sumi could sniff his hand, that he was now holding out. He really wasn't sure how mauvians worked, but they looked like cats, surely they acted a bit like cats, right? "I haven't ever seen anything like you guys before. But it's really interesting at least." He tried to reassure the cat that he wasn't too surprised. After all, his brother had cats, and they didn't talk or have stars on their foreheads.

"The Knights showing up was a blessing but ... sometimes I feel like there are more Negaverse than us around." He couldn't be sure but sometimes it seemed like it was that way. It wasn't something that he wanted to think about much and hoped that making sure the senshi and knights were stronger would make up for that if it was the case. "You've never seen a senshi?" Sumi piped up, sniffing the knights hand but not moving away from Arsinoe. The kitten was more surprised about that than the knight not having seen someone like him. There weren't that many of them running around anyway and they tended to keep to themselves if they hadn't bonded to a senshi.

Alphubel looked a bit sad, moving his gaze back towards Arsinoe. He could understand the senshi's feelings. He certainly wondered if what he was doing was the right thing, or if there was even some ray of hope of defeating the enemy... but unless something major happened, he couldn't do that much other than continue to try and defend civilians and try to beat negaverse agents. "I hope not. Though all we can really do is fight the best we can right?" He replied, and looked back at the mauvian. "Err... I have seen a senshi. Not that I've really worked with them that much." He really hadn't. Since his awakening he hadn't talked one on one with a senshi until now. "I just haven't seen a cat such as yourself." He moved his eyes back to Arsinoe. "What do mauvians do?"

"The whole thing is a work in progress." He had hoped it would have progressed a bit more since the last time he was in DC but sadly that hadn't been the case. Even so he wasn't going to give up and it was at least a good sign to meet others who were doing the best they could despite everything. At the Knights second question he laughed softly. "Depends on which ones you run into. Mostly they give us our powers, Senshi at least. They created the technology that lets us transform. They're supposed to be our guardians and teachers too but most of them seem to have forgotten that part."

"Well, at least it's in progress. We're doing something at least, right?" He tried to sound hopeful. Though he wasn't really sure how bad it was yet. He hadn't really run into anyone terrible yet. He really had no idea what he was facing. Alphubel smiled a bit widely. "Wow! They sound cool! Or I mean, that's a cool way to get your powers." He hadn't really thought of the way he had awaked as that cool, but it was interesting at least. He couldn't help but chuckle at Arsinoe's description of the mauvians though. "Sounds just like regular cats. Sure, they have a goal, but it's what they want to do." It reminded him of his brother's cats back home.

"I think they're supposed to be better than regular cats. Sumi at least tries even if he's a little forgetful about things." He nudged his cat gently, grin on his face. He did appreciate having Sumi around now that he was getting more used to the feline. And unlike the other Mauvian's he'd met Sumi seemed to actually care about helping the senshi. "Knights just, get their powers right?" He thought he remembered something like that but couldn't be sure. Sumi stretched slightly, watching the two. "Well we're still cats and ... cats are cats ... but we've got more responsibilities. Even if there's a lot of them and it's overwhelming we've still got to do them."
