User ImageThe pink lioness let out a great yarn. She had departed from her family and had begun her search for the mysterious pink lioness her father had sent his children out after. Meg had to admit it wasn’t easy looking for someone who you didn’t actually know what they looked like, all she had was the name Mittere and who knew if she was even going by that name anymore. Meg resisted the urge to groan, she knew her father had high expectations for herself and her littermates but this was a bit on the ridiculous side really. Coming to the edge of a forest Meg took a seat. She wasn’t sure she wanted to venture into the jungle. She had been heading towards the ocean but hadn’t made it there yet, if she was honest she wasn’t sure she was on the right track to be heading towards water anymore, until now she had only seen a small part of the rogue lands. So the young lioness had just continued walking east, an easy enough direction to follow given the sun rising and setting. Now she had to make the decision if she would go into the jungle or find away around it. She had never been in the jungle before and she had no way of knowing how dense it was, how far she would have to go to go around it or what creatures might call it home, all and all it wasn’t exactly an easy situation.

Deker was making his way out of the jungle. He made a point of patrolling the area around his home every once in awhile, plus he was pleased to get away from the ever growing pressure that came with being the solo leader of the colony and a father of a growing litter that always seemed to find new ways and unimaginable ways to get into trouble. The purple leopard blinked a few times squinting as he broke the tree line and entered the field. It wasn’t like the jungle was super dark, but it was certainly not as bright as a big open plain. Looking around Deker quickly noticed that he wasn’t alone in the plain. There were a few animals of prey, that Deker decided to ignore for now as he wasn’t hungry nor was the colony in need of food. But what did catch his attention almost immediately was a pink lioness not standing far from the jungles entrance.

“YOU!” he shouted charging towards her his back hair tuffed up. In actuality this was probably a terrible idea as even though the lioness appeared to be young she was a fair amount larger than Deker in size. “What are you doing here? Do you mean us harm?” Again they were likely silly questions if she was here to hurt the colony like the lions who had come before her were she wasn’t likely to just tell him then walk away because he was the sole leopard asking questions of her.

Meg was a little taken aback by the approaching leopard, it looked like it was trying to threaten her with his body language something that actually made Meg laugh out loud. Her father had taught her how to fight well. “Excuse me?” she asked disdain in her voice. “Do you claim to have some stake over the land, am I in some way harming you?” she wasn’t pleased with this introduction but she also wasn’t exactly in the mood to fight. It wasn’t an easy situation to say the least, perhaps if she was just a little better rested she would just kick his a** and move on in her search.

“This jungle, is my home. A home that has been attacked by your kind before.” he told her. He kept his distance but could tell that she probably wasn’t the threat that he had originally taken her for, but he also wasn’t ready to trust her either.

“I assure you I mean no harm to you or anyone you may live with, besides I am all alone no hunting party, no back up, just me.” Meg answered him in a detached coldness. She wasn’t really in the mood to entertain this male’s worries and fears it was kind of silly really she was a solo lioness what did he think she was going to do to his home.

Deker was slightly taken back by her bluntness and her ease, she wasn’t threatened by him at all but based on her body language she also wasn’t a threat herself. “Well… uh…” the leader in Deker was fading, he had been caught off guard and now he felt like a bumbling idiot. “What are you doing here then?’ Deker asked. Feeling a little bad for jumping to the wrong conclusion. He wasn’t sure what this colony was turning him into, he use to be a kind, helpful leopard now instead he was what was approaching a raving lunatic.

“I search for a lioness. Pink like me but different. Goes by the name Mittere” every time Meg said this spiel out loud she felt more and more stupid, she truly was on a wild goose chase like no other how did her father respect any results when he wasn’t even willing to give her and her siblings all the information, it had been so clear when they had set out that he was holding back something, pieces of the story and yet he sent them on their way.

Deker paused and waited for there to be more information, but there was nothing, just that. “I am no help.” he said when he realized that she had nothing more to offer. “I can tell you though not to go through the jungle at least not at this point. My home isn’t too far in from here and there is certainly no lions to be seen there. We are not friendly to your kind after more than one attack.” he told her a shake of his head.

“I’m not surprised.” she answered when the leopard told her he could not help her find this mysterious pink lioness. She was thankful however about the information on the jungle. Although she was a trained fighter she really didn’t want to take on a whole colony of leopards simply because she was trying to pass through. “I think I will stay the night out here anyways.” She said turning and eyeing the prey on the other side of the plain. “Thanks for the advice.” she said simply before she turned and headed towards her next meal.

Deker didn’t bother to worry about saying good bye instead he turned and headed back towards home. Though partway back he decided not to go all the way back into the heart of the colony, knowing that there was a lioness so close he opted to spend the night between the colony and the border of the jungle.
