Nick had cried. He had shut himself up in his apartment and didn’t bother coming out for nearly three days, but finally hunger overtook him and he managed to make his way out into the world. As he was in the store, an idea overtook him, and suddenly his small shopping list had grown even larger. By the time he left the store, he had bags bulging with things he hadn’t realized he had needed.
Upon arriving home, the blonde took a good look at everything and sighed, packing it all into suitcases, managing to fit everything into two of his largest suitcases and a duffel bag. Yeah, this should be enough for a while. An extended trip to his wonder, that’s what he really needed right now. A vacation away from everything…he could fix a few things up and just…relax.
It took him a little while to make it to the park, but when he did, it took only seconds to get up to Whisler.
There really…wasn’t any place in the world like his wonder…and he supposed that was due to the fact it wasn’t…on the world.
The knight brought one of the suitcases outside into the frigid air and opened it, sticking still more food items into his snow mound. He was going to end up having enough food here for a few months if he kept bringing loads like this…and honestly, that all sounded quite good to him. Maybe if he took an extended vacation away from Destiny City…he would feel better about all of this.
With a sigh, Whisler went back inside the shelter where his hot spring resided and moved to the other suitcase, pulling out some furry rugs and laying them in one of the corners of the relatively warm shelter. At least they would keep him a little protected from the hard, bare ground…
He pulled out a box that contained an air mattress and a bicycle pump. The bicycle pump wasn’t needed quite yet, since the automatic pump still had a full charge, but it would be good to have when that charge ran out one day…and if he was on an extended stay up here, he wouldn’t want to run back down to fill the battery.
Not that he was planning to deflate the bed if he could help it…it wasn’t like he could get a real mattress up here, or he would, in a heartbeat.
But then again…maybe if Newgrange were to help him…maybe they could pull it off…but that was for another day.
Speaking of Newgrange…he supposed that he should write the male a letter…but…eh. He wouldn’t miss him for a few days. Well, a few more days…
Slowly, Whisler put the sheets on the air mattress and gingerly laid down on it, letting his powered form glimmer away and sighing in content. Yeah…he could just about live up here, maybe. It would take some time, but he was sure he could end up doing it.
And he had more than enough food here to last a while. And it was sure to keep all right in the snow and all he’d have to do was put some of the stones together and make some sort of fire…
Nick sat up, smacking his forehead.
Fire. He had no fuel to make any sort of fire. Damnit.
Well, so maybe he wouldn’t be staying up here for that long then…he wasn’t sure how long he could survive on Doritos and beef jerky, but he would last as long as he could.
How could he be so stupid to forget something to start a fire with?
Oh well. Next time for sure.
