Hyperborea walked down the street with her staff occasionally tapping the pavement as she walked. She wasn't sensing any youma in the vicinity so she let herself relax and take in the chill of the night air.
It was then that her crown of stars picked up a familiar warm aura, it carried the brightness of a transcended eternal senshi. Ida. The knight of Cosmos thought fondly she hadn't had a chance to speak to the older woman since that battle on her home world. She had been wanting to full fill her promise to take the senshi to her wonder, after all it was a promise she had made when they first met it was time she delivered. So she made her way towards the source of the aura, hoping Ida wasn't too busy.
"Salut, Ida!" She called out as she neared the senshi. "Are you busy tonight, if not I'd like to show you my city." She offered.

She didn’t have a fancy head piece to sense signatures with, but Ida felt the transcended knight approaching. Well enough to turn when she drew close to see who had come to find her. It didn’t happen often, really, but when it did, it seemed important.
She was surprised, and not, to see Hyperborea and her smile spread across her face, crinkling her eyes.
“Hype, hello!” She said as the other greeted her, leaving off her stance at the edge of the roof to approach. The last she had seen this knight was at her planet, and there hadn’t been much time for talking then or since. Things has been something of a whirlwind since then, filled with the activity of picking up her life again and settling back into it. Talking to police, announcing herself to her family and friends… so much talking and lying about where she had been. Patrols were almost a relief, for giving her a chance to be mostly alone and with no need to hide where she had been or why.
“Your city?” Ida said as she stopped in a comfortable distance, her eyes widening with surprise and pleasure. And a little excitement. Planets and wonders were such wonderful places… she’d only seen a bare few since becoming a senshi. “I would love to! I’m not busy… just doing my usual patrol. Something special going on, that you came to find me?”
People didn’t often. It stood out for that, if nothing else.Aurelius0815 sorry, I lost track of this! I've added it to my list now

Whimsical Blue No worries ^^. References: City ( 1, 2, 3) Trees "Hmm not really, I just noticed your signature nearby." She said tapping her temple. "And I've owed you this for quit a while now haven't I."
"Give me your hand and we'll be off." She said offering her hand and waiting for the other to take it. She then proceeded to recite the oath and the pair vanished in a flash.
They reappeared just as quickly on a rocky cliff above a large impressive stone city. Above them were countless stars glittering like diamond, with three bright purple stars standing out from the rest. Rainbow colored cherry blossoms floated by them on the cosmic wind. Behind them through a towering stone gate house could be seen an impressive courtyard.
"I welcome you Sailor Ida to the city within the stars, Hyperborea." She said curtsying to the senshi.

Ida smiled and stepped forward to take the offered hand. She gripped it with a flutter of excitement and straightened up, lifting her eyes to the sky in anticipation.
She'd only been to one cosmos wonder, and the number of wonders she'd been to total she could count on one hand. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn more.
The world around them fuzzed out and returned abruptly, the scenery around them changing completely. Her lips parted as her eyes widened and Ida lowered her eyes with wonder from the starry sky to the ancient buildings that rose up before them. There was a distinctly Grecian air to the place, in the towering columns and peaked roofs. Surprising, for a cosmos knight, when Mars seemed themed that way.
She blinked as little flecks of rainbow floated past them, reaching out her free hand as if to catch one. They looked like... leaves? Or maybe petals. How delightful!
"Its beautiful here. Its way different from Hvergelmir's well, and my own planet of course. How much of it have you explored?" She itched to do some of that herself, but this wasn't her planet. There was no warmth of power radiating up from the surface, but compared to a place like Alkaid? This place sparkled with cleanliness, with purity and goodness. Each place she had been had its own personality, and Hyperborea was no different.

"Merci!" She said happy to hear her wonder praised. "Is Hver's wonder very different from mine? I have never been to her's but I have seen a few other cosmos wonders, they are all beautiful in their own way.
"I have explored most of the acropolis and the magical labyrinth beneath it, that is where my code piece resides. I have started to explore the lower city but that is taking alot more time." She explained as she motioned for Ida to follow her into the courtyard.
She motioned to a bronze statue of a giant knight holding a golden javelin high in the air. "This statue was built to catch the light of Hyperborea's three suns and use it to direct travelers to the city or onto Cauldron." She explained as she motioned to the javelin.
"It's a statue of the knight who built the building on the acropolis, Abaris." She explained.

Ida tilted her head as she look around and nodded.
"Hver's wonder is like a way stop. It has a long pier and the large well at the center, and behind that is the building where Hver lived, and a stable for her summons." She looked up at the knight with the javelin her eyes tracing the length of his gold weapon. "You have a real Greek feel to everything here. Its really neat that your statue works how it does. Its very neat, and effective."
"I always wonder, about the different between Wonders and Planets... and even from person to person. I'd love to see more of them. Truthfully, I'd love to see all of them someday, if I'm able." She laughed softly, shaking her head at herself. "I do want to thank you again, for bringing me."
"So! What do you have to show me next? I do want to see all of it that you want to show me."

"Interesting, perhaps the spreed out nature of the Cosmos led to the wonders developing different architecture and culture, unlike the senshi planets. Or perhaps it has do with what the purpose for each Wonder was." She theorized as much to herself as to her companion.
"Indeed that would be nice. If this god forsaken war ever ends I hope we can turn our attention to the wonders and planets rebuilding and learning more about them." She grinned "Bien sur, mon ami! beside I owe you for showing me around Ida."
She continued her tour. "Over there is my ancestral home." She said pointing to a beautiful house with the crest of two deer rampant. "And there's the grand baths." She said pointing to an open air building with steam rolling between the columns.
"That's a magical forge connected to my code piece called the Crucible of Stars. I made this..." She said indicating her crown once they had neared the forge building. ", I call it the crown of stars, it improves my auric senses greatly. I also make these there." She summoned a Hope pendent to her hand, the slightly glowing crystal gleamed in her hand. "A little gift from Hyperborea, I call them Hope Pendents."

"I'm sure it did." Ida replied, her shoulders lifting and falling. "I mean, on Earth the difference of a couple hundred miles could mean entirely different cultures and languages. The stars are even further apart than that. Its a wonder we all evolved into similar humanoid, two legged beings."
Imagine if the races of Space had been as varied as some of the Sci-fi shows she had seen on TV and in movies... it certainly would have made things interesting.
When they started moving again, Ida fell into step eagerly and her eyes were wide to take in everything as they passed. The beautiful statues, the graceful columns of stone, the fascinating places with purposes revealed to her now. It was more function than Ida had come to expect of her own planet, run down and recovering as it was, but Wonders seemed to be different beasts. Shangri-la has been more lush, but not as well kept maybe. And Scholomance had also had working parts, something that had given it's Knight no end of trouble.
"Code piece... is that the power source thing I've heard the Wonders have? I'm afraid I know less about Knights than I do senshi." The sparkle of something offered caught her attention and Ida turned with raised eyebrows, startled and abruptly shyly pleased that Hype was offering her something.
"For me?" She said as she reached for it, lightly picking up the sparkling crystal between her fingers. Her lips parted as she turned it over, watching how the light caught in it, refracting in rainbows. "Oh, its so pretty..."

"That's a very good point if anything it is amazing that the planets developed unified cultures at all." She nodded her head in agreement.
"Yup it is as the name would imply a piece of the Code, the power behind all knights. All wonders have one, plus there are two larger core pieces one on Olympus on Mars and the other on the Moon." She decided to leave out that the one on the moon had been recused from Negaspace and had to be purified.
"It powers all of the magic on Hyperborea and I draw my energy from it. It's also the reason I transcended." She said with a laugh remembering her dangerous attempt to burn away the pollution of her wonder.
"Yup, you've been a friend to me since I was a page. So I wanted to give you this little piece of Hyperborea, it contains a little bit of the light and warmth of the city." She explained handing over the warm to the touch pendent to the woman.

Ida's expression warmed and she reached out impulsively to pull the younger girl into a hug. Gifts like these weren't common things, and the fact she would share something of hers... it warmed her.
"Thank you... that means a lot to me. And its a lovely necklace." She said as she pulled back. The crystal, she looped over her head, settling the chain around her neck. It sparkled and caught the light in such a pleasing way, she found it hard to resist not fiddling with it as they walked. "I'd like to give you something of Ida too... I'll have to see what I can find. No crystals, I'm afraid, but lots of plants... would you like some flowers for your wonder? I like the idea of sort of sharing things, between planets and wonders. Bring us all a little closer together."
She had the tree from Maia planted there, and some Earth flowers. There were always plans to import more plants from other places, just not the time or opportunity to do as much as she would have liked. She made a note to be more forward about it. It felt important, for the growth of her planet.

Hyperborea returned the hug. "I would love flowers. I'll have to find the perfect place for them. You know according to my ancestor the ancient Hyperboreans would give saplings of these rainbow cherry blossom trees to important trading partners and allies. I wish I knew if there were any left. I love the idea of people adding to the beauty of the worlds and wonders by trading with one another it makes it feel like we are actually adding to the worlds, moving forward rather than just fixing all the damage done a thousand years ago."
"But come on. I promised to show you my code piece." She said as she lead the way into the largest temple past a marble and gold statue of a knight reaching up to the roof.
"This is the main entrance to the labyrinth that hides the code piece as well as many treasure vaults. The labyrinth is enchanted to always be shifting but a knight of Hyperborea can navigate it." She explained as she reached a large slab of stone embossed with depictions of knights on it. She laid her hand on the slab and willed some of her magic into it, the slab responding by sliding into the floor. She lead the way into a cavern filled with sparkling glowing crystals and three large mirrors with alien writing engraved on them.

There were a lot of questions that rose up about the Code, but time enough for that later. There were things here and now to be fascinated with, and Ida found her attention caught everywhere she turned.
For how old the place was, it was still very grand, and in far better shape than what Ida had been when she found it. But wood rotted and decayed, while stone endured, so it was to be expected. As she cared for it, life returned, and that was a pleasing thing. The talk of trees perked her interest, but she held back on the desire for it. Hype would offer, if she liked the idea, she didn't want to push.
The view of a stone slab sliding away drew Ida closer and she watched with interest as they followed stone walls inwards. The light from outside dimmed, but it never really got dark... instead, light came from all around them, glowing from crystals set into the walls. Ida's lips parted with wonder as she walked, reaching out with curious fingers to touch one as they passed.
"Oh, these are beautiful..." She murmured, before she turned and saw the mirrors. "Oh... what are those for?"

"They are for meditation, the writing is three poems supposedly written by the first knight of Hyperborea, Apollon, on the meaning and duty of being a knight. My ancestors revered him as a god and so the knights who descended from him were supposed to follow in his example." She explained. She walked to the center and willed a short pillar to raise from the floor. "It's also where my signet ring is left for the next knight of Hyperborea." She said taking off her ring and placing it in the slot which she had found it in as a demonstration before retrieving it again.
"The labyrinth is this way." She said walking to a stairway leading downward on the far end of the room.
The stair opened up to a corridor with two different ways to go. The walls were made of smooth marble with murals depicting Hyperborea giants in various activities. The glowing crystals lit the hallway here as well. "My code piece is a few floors down, its in the center of the acropolis. It powers all of the magical places and items on the acropolis." She explained as she motioned for her to follow as she went right.

Ida approached the mirrors, watching her reflection grow in them between the carved letters. She studied them, unable to tell what they said, but getting a wistful sort of feeling from it anyway. They were old, this whole place was old. Older than her, older than Destiny City, probably even older than the war. They were specks in the timeline, meer blips of starlight that had barely begun to sparkle.
She glanced back to watch the display of the ring before she stepped away from the mirrors, wandering back to follow when Hyperborea led the way to a set of stairs leading downwards.
Were all code pieces hidden like this? She wondered. Did they all power their wonders the way this one did?
She'd never seen Hvergelmir's code piece, or Shangri-la's, or Whisler's. She was sure it wasn't because they didn't trust her, but she got the feeling it was almost a private thing... a protected thing. Her planet was its own... being, it didn't answer to a whole. She didn't have one tangible thing that powered it all, her whole planet was the power. The differences between knights and senshi were a fascinating study, and already she had learned so much in this one trip.
"Do you visit it often?" Ida asked as she followed the other girl down the right corridor. "How did you find it? I don't know if I asked if you have an ancestor or not. I've met knights that do and ones that don't."
Another difference between knights and senshi: some were not reborn with a starseed from a past life. She wondered what that was like... inheriting a power, rather than being born with it. Having no memories of another life and instead a spirit to guide you. Would you feel less connected to this war, or more? Would you be more impartial, or more firm in your stance?
For Scholomance, his ancestor had been a trial at best, a deadly enemy at worst, but she knew Babylon had been close to his, going so far as to take his starseed back to the cauldron at the risk of his own life. She wasn't sure if she should be glad she had only her own memories to deal with.

"I do. I find it comforting to meditate near it, it rarely speaks but still I feel like I can gleam knowledge from the code when I am near it." The young knight responded as they passed by several open rooms filled to the brim with sparkling treasure. They eventually reached the stairs leading to the lower levels.
"Well I guess it was just persistence. I found it the same day I became a full knight and transcended." She explained as they were walking. "I discovered My wonder was polluted by a miasma, and I used the code piece to burn away the polluted air which restored life to the planets here and transcended me in the process." She continued with her story as they descended to another level.
"I do!" She responded brightly. "His name is Theseus, would you like to meet him?" She asked. She figured her ghostly ancestor was lurking somewhere nearby, he usually was.
