Hobbies:
Strength training - Fitness is a lifestyle, not just a hobby, and Lucy is committed to it 24 hours a day 7 days a week (except cheat day when all sins are forgiven). Being picked on as a young girl for her scrawny size and long limbs made her yearn for the strength to stand up for herself, but the extraordinary confidence that came with it made her stick with the training long after the bullies turned to easier targets. It has been two years since she started her fitness journey, and her dedication has only increased with time. In fact, one of the reasons she was interested in joining Romano's was its apparent commitment to fitness and rigorous training which she has taken full advantage of as a student. In her free time she typically spends 3-4 days a week for at least an hour in the gym on free weights and uses outdoor activities like tennis, hiking and cross training (as fitness buddies and weather permits) to keep up with her cardio. Any friends she makes that don't exercise beyond the school's requirements will find they need to schedule time to spend with her in between her fitness regime -- or otherwise get dragged into a serious workout!
Cooking - To eat healthy as a lifestyle it helps a great deal to know your way around the kitchen. It began as a necessity to learn how to cook to fuel her active life but grew to become a joy that extends beyond healthy foods to all manner of delicious and savory meals. She has even been known to bake cookies and cakes for family and friends, more so as a creative outlet than a means to eat sweets herself.
Being from a large Greek family, Lucy has always been accustomed to a healthier "Mediterranean" diet and her Mother and Grandmother gladly--if not somewhat persistently--pass down their recipes for her to learn at home ( At least until she complains about the fat-to-carb ratio of the family favorite lamb gyros..). As a student at Romano's, she can't meal plan as much as she likes, but carefully inspects all the mess hall options for nutritional facts so she can keep her body fueled right. On weekends at home, Lucy cooks and prepares many meal options and snacks for her to take to school for those times when the cafeteria options just aren't quite "clean" enough for her lifestyle or she needs a protein pick me up in the late afternoon. Her homemade granola bars she swears are better than any candy on the market!
Stationary Collecting- What better way to keep yourself organized than with dozens of beautiful pens in an array of colorful inks? Or fancy hardcover notebooks and journals with smooth, heavy weight paper and gold trim? As tedious as it may be to keep lists, planners, calendars, and school notes in order, Lucy makes it fun with cute stationary and an ever growing collection of fountain pens and accessories. She keeps a bullet journal for day-to-day task tracking, a fitness journal for tracking her progress in the gym, and a food journal for meal planning. Fortunately her strong arms can carry a messenger bag full of books and pens everywhere she goes!
Virtues:
Self Disciplined - When she wakes up, eats, exercises and spends time with friends is whenever possible pre-ordained by the all knowing power of her personal planner. Clocks, schedules, journals and calendars rule her world and keep her on an every rotating list of tasks, even if the task is taking a break! She accomplishes a lot for your average 17 year old and somehow makes time to have fun now and again.
Team Player - Lucy believes that no job is too small and frequently fills in the role of whatever is needed in a group, whether it be for school or in relationships or sports; even if it means doing grunt work or taking a backseat to more dominating personalities. While she has many of the qualities of a good leader, and certainly the confidence to persuade her way into any position she chooses, she often prefers to offer up whatever skills are lacking to improve the group or project as a whole rather than fighting for task more interesting or more impressive. She enjoys seeing a plan come together more than being the one given credit for making it work- or having to take the responsibility if it fails. Of course there are times when the best option is take the lead, but typically she only steps up when there are no other suitable options.
Idealistic - One thing Lucy has learned from working out is the power of change. In changing your outlook or your habits you can drastically alter your life for the better. While still in high school she hasn't had much exposure to the bigger problems of the world, but a time may come when she is forced to face some tough realizations but no matter what her instinct will always be to fight for change. Whenever a seemingly insurmountable problem arises she will take it as a personal challenge to find any way possible to turn things around.
Flaws:
Lost in the Details - In the midst of all the organizing, planning and scheduling of her life Lucy can sometimes lose sight of whats really important. Time with friends and family can easily be pushed aside in favor of work, progress, and achievement without her realizing that the things she's missing out on in the meantime take a toll on her well being too. All too often big projects end up taking much longer than necessary due to her needing to plan out every detail before any action is taken to work on it.
Easily Persuaded by Authority - Lucy thrives in a structured environment with a strong controlling leader pushing her forward - like a coach - to keep her on track in achieving her goals. You must trust your "coach" in order to succeed and so she is often very trusting in the presence of authoritative people (teachers, parents, or strong persuasive personalities) and eagerly follows their advice or demands. While that's great in many cases, and makes her a great pupil, she can unfortunately fall into the trap of blindly following orders and not realizing when what is being asked of her is unfair or subversive. To not follow an order or to do anything that might knowingly disappoint her mentors breaks with her "failure is not an option" mantra and makes it incredibly difficult for her to see when she's being used.
Unstable - When things go wrong it's often like a landslide with Lucy, where everything in her carefully planned life starts to crumble because of one error or unforeseen event. A missed workout or assignment at school isn't that big a deal to most people but its these small missteps that begin to snowball into much bigger issues. The stress of failure however small is enough to break down her carefully plotted system into total chaos.
Physical Description:
Lucy is a dedicated weight lifter for the past two years but her small frame keeps her from getting jacked to hulk-like proportions. Instead she is a lean, mean squatting machine whose toned body mass belies a formidable strength.
Eyes - Bluish purple large almond eyes
Hair - Dark brown but occasionally died bright colors for an "edgier" look
Face - Slightly paler than the rest of her family but still olive complected. A round face with the long slender features of her Greek background.
Clothes - When out of uniform Lucy is often in some form of activity or another where athletic attire is needed. She loves pretty, feminine work out tights in bright colors and fun patterns with matching bra tops or cropped shirts to show off her toned physique.
