◖♡3RD GEN FIRE DRAGON SLAYER ◖♡RUNE KNIGHT COMMANDER ◖♡3RD SAINT
If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night
XXXThe only reason her little girl wasn't by her side, yelling orders to the Knight Recruits to lift up their shields higher, was because her mommy was on edge today. More than usual. It all started the minute Sebastian woke up; she received a telegram around seven in the morning. Lo and behold, Danny was the bearer of bad news, telling his groggy and half-naked Commander that she was requested by one of the Division Captains. He needed her "soon" he said, "very soon!" She didn't even get to make her daughter and husband's breakfast today. Who knows what they could have eaten. Fruit tarts?!
When she got there, Sebastian was welcomed to the sight of every single Division Captain waiting by the entrance, their faces wrinkled in worry and their hands filled with papers. Incident reports were written on every single one. She didn't need to know what was on each paper, because it's been like that for two weeks now. Incidents of sheep being slaughtered, farmers found dead in the center of their fields: Cleaved of every single ounce of mean on their bones. Property damaged. Chaos. Confusion. Dogs. Dogs? Yes, dogs. At least that is what Captain Rodrick of Division 4 likes to theorize. Having been a lover of dogs herself, Sebastian knew that this wasn't some rogue dog or two. It was something far more sinister. Sadly however, she couldn't put her finger on it.
Minutes of confusion turned into hours, Commander Sebastian Vinicianus-Togachi and the remainder of her Division Captains entered the Training Grounds to convene away from the heat, ironically. "I am telling you! Dogs!" Captain Rodrick insisted, passing along to the Commander, an incident report that consisted of information about a recent exceed massacre: A total of fifteen exceeds were founds completely void of meat, scattered sloppily all over an alleyway in Oshibana. "That is the doing of a dog!" He said, showing his Commander pictures of the crime scene. No stranger to disturbing imagery, Sebastian took the photos in her hands and inspected them. "Nonsense Captain Rodrick!" Bellowed the burly Captain Smithy of the Third Division, the old man twirling his handlebar mustache in thought. "Well, why not we allow Commander Vinicianus to decide. What do you think Commander?" Captain Lynda of the Seventh Division asked, looking down as her Knight Commander.
"Maybe not a dog. But something... Feral." Sebastian calmly suggested, her British accent trailing off after she spoke, as if she wasn't really mentally there. She was just tired. Irritated. If this issue doesn't get solved soon... Sebastian sighed and took the incident report from each Captain present. "As you were, Captains. I will oversee these documents to determine our next course of action. I implore you all to not act according to your hunches on this one... That's my job." With that, the Captains left their Commander, to go and train their knights. Sebastian would make her spot by the benches of the Training Hall, flipping her long hair out of her face before commencing her research. "This is pissing-off worthy..."

┋✧┋Sabertooth┋✧┋Guild Master┋✧┋Lunar God Slayer┋✧┋ ✦ Taking a trip to Era may seem like a daunting task to most wizards; it usually meant you were in trouble with the council. Rarely did one willing go there themselves, but Caius was one such a person. Given the actions of certain wizards in his guild, he felt it necessary to come in person and apologize to those on the council. Usually when these things happened, there would be a lot of paperwork to go over, not to mention all the people inconvenienced or worse due to their actions. On behalf of his members, he'd like to make things right. Making the visit with him was his faithful and close companion, Gryphi, who was doing nothing but complaining. Not that that was unusual; she usually got mouthy when she was bored. "Ah...so hungry...mew..." she whined yet again. The guild master shook his head, looking down at his partner incredulously. "Gryphi...you ate five whole mackerels before we left.""Well it wasn't enough! You should've told me we were going to Era, not on a walk! I would've eaten ten mackerel...hmm, maybe twelve. Thirteen?" she mused, kicking a pebble with her front paw. He wasn't sure what to say in response to that; the way she cleaned those bones earlier would've told him she had her fill. But then again, this was Gryphi; one of a few mortal enemies to his wallet. With he sigh, he knew she'd need something to eat once they got to Era or he'd never hear the end of it.
Following a brief lunch break, Caius lead the way to the Magic Council HQ, his Exceed companion trotting beside him on all fours. She was rather pleased now to have been fed, a wide grin on her face. The size of the fish she ate was at least as large as the average man and the greedy cat picked it clean. As for his poor wallet, it definitely took a blow to pay for that thing. "You ate the whole thing...but I bet you could still eat.""What? I'm a big cat! Big cats have to eat" Gryphi stated so matter of factly. In any case, they could finally do what they came here for. Going off memory and old habits, he decided to cut through the Rune Knight Training Hall as a means of getting to the main hall quicker. Not surprising, but Caius would find the Knight Commander sitting on one of the benches, reading through some documents. She looked busy with work and wore a look of frustration on her face, but it would be rude to have come all this way without saying hello. "Hey Sebastian" he would greet her warmly as he approached and waved. "Hard at work I see. Hopefully nothing too stressful?" Caius would say, making note of the face she was making. As for Gryphi, she had stood up on her two feet and began looking around for something...or someone.

XXXBy this time, Sebastian's four-foot something hair was wrapped in a large, messy bun on top of her head. A pencil had been tucked in between her teeth and bags had already developed under her eyes: It had only been thirty minutes since she had sit down, and she was already agitated. "Hn?" She mumbled, looking up from her work to see Caius and his exceed- Gryphi, right before her. "Ah, hello Caius." Sebastian grumbled sheepishly, rubbing her eyes and removing the pencil from her mouth, tucking it behind her ear. "Depends: Are you referring to the damages that your Guild Ace has caused: 575k worth of jewel? Or, do you mean: Sebastian, are you stressful over something other than that?" Sebastian said with heavy sarcasm, smirking with little effort.
She gestured to the paperwork surrounding her bench, and tilted her head. "It's something else. Attacks all throughout Fiore for the past two weeks. Farmers being killed, livestock, exceeds found by the masses: Completely void of their flesh or meat. Speaking of which..." Sebastian looked down at Gryphi, and smiled. "Are you looking for my dumb arse cat?" she asked, pointing her pencil towards the direction of a small crowd of Rune Knights, who were sitting around the corner of the training area, relaxing from a rousing training session. Within the center of the seated knights, was no other then Takeda Vinicianus: lounging on his 'special chair,' a bean bag that he had received as a Hanukkah present. A glass of milk was in his hand as he made lewd jokes towards the other knights, who felt uncomfortable by the feline's taste of humor, but were too tired to get back to training.
"But I digress." She stated to Caius, looking down at her work for a moment. "I haven't slept well in a good two weeks. I haven't spent as much time as I would like to with you guys and my family. Bleh." Sebastian rolled her eyes and sighed. "One of the Division Captains are convinced that Fiore may have a stray dog problem. But you can just wave a torch at a dog and they will flee. According to survivors, these... Things... Don't run away. Sadly, said survivors either fell into comas from their injuries, or are too traumatized to describe these perps..." Sebastian looked down at one photograph in particular, of the gutted exceeds in an alley. "I can't even show you how disturbing some of these images are. They are truly demented... Whatever did this."
She shook her head and would place the picture on the bench facing down, so no one would see it: Especially Gryphi or Takeda. "But I am sure you didn't come here to hear this grump rant. What do you need?" She said with a tired grin.
Calling out father, oh, stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side
Running around to different areas of the Magical Council building, the monk would be looking through different stacks of paperwork and reports being sent in from villages where attacks were happening. Many were requesting for her to head over and perform all kinds of cleansing, funerals and such. The demands had caused roughly 4 tall stacks of papers to accumulate on her desk in a short span of time. Having gone through them quickly, Pema had also traveled for almost two months just to try and get through half of the requests. No leads had been given or found on her own time during her time there. Running on short naps here and there, some bags under her eyes had formed.
Luckily, her work at the Cathedral was put on hold or being taken care of by other priests, priestess, volunteers and such. So that took a load off for her during this time until things start to calm down a bit. Of course, if anything that was uncertain would be brought up to her if necessary. That occasions had only occurred a couple times with some ceremonies, but otherwise she was not called upon.
Absorbed in some books, trying to figure any causes, Pema had ended up in the Rune Knight Training Hall. The concentration bubble was vary apparent as she had been unaware of her location and the buzzing noise of knights training and chatting. She was flipping through some of the reports, trying to jot down some notes and/or connections. However, with her guard down, one of the knights had a sword accidentally slip out of their grip. The sharp object headed in her direction. Oddly, she was able to dodge it just in time as she walked. But, with that dodge mixed with her being distracted, Pema ended up hitting a pillar. All the things she had in hand fell to ground as a dizzy Pema stood back a bit trying to catch her balance. "Oh dear..." A mutter escaped while rubbing her nose and forehead to sooth the pain.
Pema looked around, finally noticing her new location. Curious as to how she got to the Rune Knight training area, she spotted some familiar faces by a bench. First picking up her things, the female monk would make her way to greet the two. "Hello Seb. It's good to see you again Caius and Gryphi." Pema chimed cheerily.

┋✧┋Sabertooth┋✧┋Guild Master┋✧┋Lunar God Slayer┋✧┋ ✦ It didn't take long for Caius to find out Sebastian didn't just look tired and frustrated, but she actually sounded tired. He couldn't help but crack a smile at her jab at his Guild Ace's actions, when really it wasn't funny at all. 575k in damages was nothing to laugh about...and he felt a little guilty and responsible for letting such a thing happen. Were he on the council still, it was wizards like his Ace that he scrutinized and penalized specifically. But in his position now, he wanted to do more than penalize and move on; he wanted to try steering wizards in the right direction, something he thought he might accomplish as a guild master. So far...these were the results, sad to say. Putting his troubles aside, the man listened to hear what was really troubling his friend: though it only seemed to add to his growing list of concerns. Something on the loose attacking people and animals, leaving nothing but skeletons sounded dangerous, if not serious. Like Seb, he took looked down at his furry companion to see her looking around. She looked up at the women when asked about her target and was then pointed in the right direction. That look in her eyes...spelled trouble. After what Sebastian told him though, Caius was going to need to keep a closer watch on Gryphi until this all got sorted out. Even the poor commander was suffering from these bizarre string events, clearly; she could definitely use a break, in his opinion. Just from her description, the guild master could tell couldn't be chalked up to dog attacks and certainly did not need to see that picture she set down. He wondered if maybe the guilds should assist in the matter if this was in fact affecting all of Fiore.
Caius silently mulled over the thought until Seb asked him why he came here. "Ah right... About that..." he started to speak when he heard a faint thud. Looking in its direction, he would see Pema picking herself off the ground and her documents after a rude meeting with that pillar. He would have gone to assist her, but she was quickly up and making her way toward him and Sebastian. "Hey Pema, good to see you. You okay?" he asked, greeting her back. "Hi Pema... Bye Pema." Gryphi waved before scurrying off. She stealthily a beeline for that "dumb arse cat", hoping to catch him by surprise by sneaking behind his bean bag. Once she was close she would greet her "friend" with a very loud. "HEY RED!"

XXXSebastian heard the small thud, followed by immature chuckles and whistles. She saw the whole thing: Lotus effortlessly, possibly unintentionally dodging the flying sword that a Rune Knight had so carelessly launched, only for her to make an abrupt introduction to the pillar. A few of the Rune Knights took this as an opportunity to react: Some had asked the woman if she was alright, others quietly jeered from their corners, haven't having a good laugh in a while. She was nearly about to snap at her men for their childish behavior, particularly to the ones that found Pema's small accident to be entertaining.
Sebastian placed a hand on her chest upon being greeted, and gave a concerned expression. "Are you alright, love?" Sebastian asked in a motherly tone towards the other woman, looking directly at the bags underneath Pema's eyes. "Pema, honey... When was the last time you slept?" Sebastian asked, creating an empty space on her bench for Pema to sit on. "Here here, sit down. Yeah?" She quietly insisted, tapping the spot next to her.
"Oho?" From the distance, Takeda could see his divine vixen enter the training grounds: Flawless and perfect in every way, in every view, in every form. Takeda licked his paw and slicked his hair back, prepared to swoon his beloved Lotus flower with his charm and handsome feline features that would drive any woman batty. His slick-backed hair turned into a cowlick when his paw had flinched upon the frightening, familiar sound of HER. He released a girlish squeal, dropping his milk on the floor. Quickly, he would fall from his chair in attempts to soak up the milk with his fur, before his owner found out. "You MONSTER." Takeda hissed in a whimpy manner, sporting a pout fit for an angry baby. The other Rune Knights cheered, satisfied that Gryphi was once again back to put Takeda in his place.
Calling out father, oh, stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side
She had reassured many of the knights of her well being as they rushed over to ask if she was alright. At least a good bunch of them were kind enough to make sure a person was fine instead of snickering off at the scene. Her attention to her friends, she smiled and nodded. "I should be fine. It wasn't too hard of an impact luckily." Pema answered Caius' and Sebastian's question after the greetings. There was no after feeling of a potential bruise occurring. But having such a big group witness the collision was a bit embarrassing. From what she could tell, the knights will definitely be talking about it for a while until something new comes up.
"Hm. The last time I slept?" She brought up her hands to count off the hours she's been up. "Maybe over 40 hours ago...Roughly 3 days ago. At least a time frame that was over an hour of sleep." Looking up from her hands, Sebastian had made room on the bench for her to sit down. "Thank you dear." Pema arranged her dress under her and took a seat on the bench. Her stack of work was gently placed on her lap, making sure no loose pieces of papers escape. "I heard you had the day off today Seb. Were you called back in for an emergency?" Pema asked curiously. Last she checked, a few council members and such did have the day off. Her guess was because of the strange "animal" attack reports flooding in.
┋✧┋Sabertooth┋✧┋Guild Master┋✧┋Lunar God Slayer┋✧┋ ✦ Though she said she was okay, it was hard not to feel a little concerned, even a few of the knights had come to make sure she was okay. It was considerate of them which was more than could be said of a few others; Caius shooting the cacklers a look. Focusing back on his friend, Sebastian was the one to point out the bags under the priestess' eyes. It seemed Pema too was feeling the strains of the council workload and being deprived of sleep. He really felt for them both; the sleepless work hours were not something he missed while on the council. When things got overbearing it usually meant a necessary sacrifice to ensure important work got done. But now, a nap a day was practically mandatory for him on an average day...maybe two. In Sebastian's case, it wasn't just rough on her, but her family as well. It reassuring that these two hard working ladies were doing it for the benefit of Fiore and should be noted their struggle was not in vain. "About that" Caius chimed in when Pema asked why Seb was here. "Why don't the guilds help you look into it? It might be easier to get eyes on whatever is running amok" he suggested. Apparently these incidents weren't too widely known yet, but when they did, the people would begin to panic. He wasn't sure what the two of them might think, but trained wizards likely stood a better chance than famers and Exceed.
Seeing Takeda nearly jump out of his fur, shrieking in pitch higher than Oda's had made her scare oh so worth it! The cream colored Exceed cackled as she watched the poor he-cat try to clean up the mess he made with his own body. Hearing the raucous applause of the Rune Knights, she stood before him with arms crossed and justified in her actions. "Look at you... Without me here you've grown even softer! And milk? No wonder you've gotten chubbier" she commented, poking his gut. This just wouldn't do! Since she didn't see him as often as she used to, Gryphi would have to make up for lost time. "Okay, Red. We're gonna play our old game: 'Run'. If you forgot the rules, there's only one thing you gotta do..." she grinned with a toothy smile, getting on all fours. By her stance, the way her fluffy tail swayed and the look in her glimmering eyes, Takeda would want to move before getting pounced on.

XXXSebastian grimaced at Pema's answer. "Honey, you can't do that!" She said, accidentally sounding annoyed; unfortunately, it was her exhaustion altering how she said her words, making phrases meant to sound compassionate, sound aggressive and annoyed. "Give me one good reason not to send you away to your office to go sleep!" She said, prepared to pounce the other woman, but her mind was occupied by Pema's following question. "Huh? Oh... Yeah, that." She said, a bit sadly. She sighed and blew some of her hair from her face. "I was supposed to take break for today. Sadly, the Division Captains had new information with regarding to the 'animal' incident. Er... Incidents." She said, followed by a half-assed shrug, and a frustrated attempt at another sigh. "Oda wanted to spend time with me at the park... God." Sebastian said, rather disappointed. She pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes.
"I haven't spent any time with her or Shigehara in about two weeks. Oda had a wobbly tooth, yah know? Her first possible baby tooth almost ready to fall... And I had only known about it a week after." She shook her head, her spirit sunken just like the bags under her eyes. "The amount of nights Shigehara had to sleep alone on our bed, because I have been stuck here trying to figure out this damnable... Everything." She breathlessly mumbled. "I just need this entire situation to just... End. So I can feel like a half-decent mother and wife again." Sebastian removed her hand from her face and kept her eyes closed, inhaling deeply, and exhaling. She smiled and folded her hands together, over her chest.
"We would have come to the guilds sooner," She admitted "But, we aren't too sure what exactly is causing this havoc. Exceeds have been found, meatless. Farmers found in the same condition, some with bite marks larger than that of any documented beast in Fiore. Property damage. Goats. Sheep. Cows. Dead. Gone. We don't know for sure. Division Captain Rodrick, one of my higher-ranked knights, stated that it could be a dog attack... Multiple dog attacks. But it's impossible, yeah? What sort of dog could act so feral?!" She said, growing agitated. "I don't wish to impose. I am sure none of us want to. However, I myself, would be grateful for any help..."
"Geez you bully! It's low fat!" He whined childishly, his body now saturated in freshly-spilled milk. He struggled to get up, only for his gut to be poked mockingly. He shivered and whimpered, covering his tummy, which had made him look pregnant from the large sum of milk that he had previously consumed. It didn't help that Sebastian took him to the bakery for breakfast prior to coming here. Damn bagels. "I-I can't run yet you dumb arse! I... I will cramp and I swear- I will make sure to vomit warm milk and bagels all over your flea-infested fur... You twit!!!" He said, suddenly taking off, not so much caring about the cramps. Gryphi looked like she was craving some blood, Takeda's comments did not help his case...

Pema didn't react to widely surprised at Sebastian's response. She did jump a bit mainly out of natural reaction much that to a person being scolded. "I know. It couldn't be helped since I was travelling a lot for so long and doing all sorts of things. But I do plan on taking a day or two off to recuperate hopefully soon." She reassured with a smile. An eyebrow rose at the mention of new information being brought up. The light brown eyes softened some as Pema place a hand on Sebastian's shoulder. Missing out on special family occurrences definitely must be hard when working also. "Don't be too hard on yourself. You should take the rest of the day off like you were supposed to after finishing up with work."
Trying to give a gentle, soothing back rub for Sebastian, Pema turned her attention up to Caius. "Plus we wouldn't want you risking any of your guild members for such a strange case also. But, with these incidents continuing and growing, I think we might have to resort to asking for help from your guild and other ones." A small sigh escaped her lips as she rubbed one of her eyes a bit, trying to remove any tiredness. "I'll work on sending out the notice to the other guilds so that they know too." Looking off to the area where Takeda and Gryphi were at, Pema let out a light chuckle. "It's nice to see the two getting along again. I was worried that Takeda was getting rather lonely without Gryphi around."

┋✧┋Sabertooth┋✧┋Guild Master┋✧┋Lunar God Slayer┋✧┋ ✦ Impose? If only Sebastian knew how many wizards would jump at the chance to lend a helping hand. It was something he hadn't realized until he became a Guild Master, just how many selfless people there were in the world. His guild members were no exception to this. "It would be no trouble at all, Seb. And I appreciate your concern, Pem, but I'm confident in my guild to exercise caution in dealing with this. Still...to be on the safe side, we should limit this to A-ranks and at least groups of two, until we know what we're dealing with" he suggested. Whatever was attacking people and animals was something dangerous, probably not to be taken lightly. Most A-ranks had enough experience to be cautious and then some; being able to retreat if need be. "In the meantime, maybe you should take the rest of the day Seb. Be with your family and get some rest. That goes for you too, Pema." Depending on how serious things got, the Rune Knight may very well need their commander to be at her best. And that went double for the Magic Council Chairman; Caius still concerned for her neglect to sleeping, despite the reasons why. Perhaps he could bring her a fruit basket, just to make sure she was getting the proper nutrients and energy. While he was considering which fruits to bring, he was pointed to Gryphi and Takeda "playing". "Hmm? Ah...I see..." he shook his head, knowing full well what was going on...and likely about to happen.
Gryphi, who was already in her stance to pounce, glared with bloodlust at her prey. Takeda always mocked her for being dirty and unclean, not just because of the color of her fur but because of her upbringing. Not that she minding living in the wild, in fact, she considered it a blessing when she saw other Exceed, like the red one, who were spoiled. But it was the fact that he made fun of her for it, like she was some kind of savage, that part really irked her. And so, Takeda would not get very far once he started running before Gryphi leaped and close the distance between them. Once she had, the she-cat would grab onto his head and sink her fangs into it as the Exceed had done several times in the past.

XXX"After finishing up, surely. And I heavily recommend the same goes for you! Please?" Sebastian asked the other woman. "Besides, with guilds extending their assistance in these trying times, we may just be able to take that break without stressing too much." Sebastian added with a nod. While she didn't look it, she was very grateful to work for Fiore, the people here are far more willing to help than back in Gapta: A nation where everyone tried to one-up each other. Sebastian bowed in respect towards Caius, giving the best smile that she could. "I appreciate it Caius. I agree with your idea. Honestly, any rank lower: I couldn't even begin to imagine how bad the turn-out would be." She mumbled, her smile fading and her brow furrowed. "I could ask one of the Division Captains to provide all the guilds with locations of recent attacks. And you know... I think I may actually make my way out for a bit. I am a wee bit tired myself." The other woman said putting together her papers and photographs, and neatly stuffing them in their many folders. Afterwards, Sebastian had stacked her folders to her side, and placed a hand on Pema's shoulder before whispering something to her. "But seriously Pema, please don't do too much where it affects your health. You know how us moms get Pema, we like to keep ourselves busy."
From the point of view of Sebastian's teachings as a young Gaptain girl, dying may be compared to falling asleep and after-death experiences to dreams. The thoughts and actions of the waking state determine the nature of our dreams. After-death experiences are real to the soul, just as a dream is real to the dreamer, and may continue for ages. Then, when the soul wakes up after this sleep, it finds itself reborn as a human being. Sebastian never saw Pema's child as dead, despite never actually saying that to Pema face-to-face. However, she knew that since Pema's face was the last thing her daughter could have possibly seen before being murdered, that her daughter would have beautiful dreams as she awaited for her rebirth. Somewhere in this world, maybe in the same country, Pema's daughter was somewhere, looking for the woman in her dreams. Hopefully Sebastian did not offend the other woman with her choice of wording. But: Stretchmarks don't lie. Though if things did turn sour, Sebastian was prepared to give one thousand apologies. She would never want to hurt her dear friend!
"Aw, ******** me!" The red cat thought bitterly, seeing Gryphi's entire persona shift into something feral and sinister, as if she was more than ready to kill him in the most inhumane ways possible. Maybe he spread his butter too thin with those words. However, he's done it many times before, he will never learn. "AHHH!!!" Playing. Yeah. That was it. Takeda wasn't one for games, tag was his least favorite by-far. "MY SKULL! YOU ARE DIGGING YOUR VILE FANGS INTO MY SKULL! I JUST GOT MY HAIR DONE YOU LIL' PIECE OF SH- AHHH!!!" Because of his red fur, Takeda did not notice the trickles of blood running down from his head. "BY JOE I AM SORRY! WHAT DO YOU WANT!? A GIFT CARD?! GEEZ! AHHH!!!" All he could hear no soon after, was the sound of his owner laughing like the little harlot she was, savoring every moment of Takeda's suffering. She damn well saw him, but laughed mockingly, and soon went back to Pema and Caius, as if Takeda never existed. Some of the Rune Knights stopped their fighting upon the sound of Takeda's girlish screams, a few actually laughing in the cusp of this crude but humorous event.
