100% recovery had taken longer than Rikard-- Arin-- had liked. It had taken time before he'd started wandering out in public alone, let alone powered. He had confidence in himself and his abilities, but it had taken more than that before he had powered up to wander about on his own. It helped that Cordelia-- Sailor Corvus, he reminded himself, had given him names of others to look out for; those who would help him and those he could avoid. On one of his first outings he had crossed paths with Celsus, a Knight of Chronos. He'd been told a number of things about the other man; all good, surprisingly, and after chatting with him he could understand why Corvus had been drawn to him. Like a moth to a flame. He too had enjoyed speaking with the other man. There was a lightness about the Knight of Chronos that seemed to shine through the tarnish and wear that had left him jaded. He had the advantage of knowledge and connections; two things that Mag Mell would need in order to make it in this new life now that a fresh set of cards were on the table. A few nights before he had sent a note via his signet ring to Celsus, requesting a meeting. If he's available, please invite Emrys. I'd enjoy a chance to chat with both of you. Once a location and date had been set it became a matter of counting down the days and being there at the right time on the right night.

"For the last time," said Celsus patiently, "He won't mind that I've brought you along. In fact, he asked for you, so stop fretting like a hen."
"I'm not fretting," said his brother, which Celsus thought was an outright lie, and indicated as much with a raised eyebrow in Emrys' direction. Emrys' cheeks were flushed pink, and not from the cold that surrounded them on the outskirts of Destiny City, frigid air blowing tiny flakes of snow past.
"You are, and again, it will be fine. Mag Mell is a decent man, and he is going to be a part of my Brigade, which is also, may I remind you, your Brigade, so do stop worrying. You'll wear yourself out if you're not careful, and I'd rather have you alive and well and capable of speech."
Emrys huddled with his arms around his middle, the staff tucked into the crook of one. "I'm just..." He trailed off, looking despondent, and Celsus patted his shoulder.
"It'll be all right," he said again, with more force this time. "He'll be here soon, and then you'll see."

Mag Mell heard the two brothers before he caught sight of them and he was smiling by the time he approached them. He had drawn his cloak around him for warmth, although the bright white of it also seemed to work relatively well of camouflage against the snowy backdrop for the Knight of Cosmos as well. He cleared his throat lightly to alert the Knight of Chronos and the Squire of Neptune to his presence. "Good evening, gentlemen. I would have invited the two of you over for drinks of some sort, but until I get everything sorted with my new identification... I don't exactly have a place of my own, so winter wonderland it is." A light smirk had replaced the Cosmos knight's grin as he'd shifted his cloak to reach out beyond it to hold his hand out to the two other men.

Mag Mell's appearance was greeted with warm kindness from Celsus, who stepped forward almost at once to give a little bow of greeting to the knight. He was very glad to see that the other was smiling; it would certainly help to put at least some of Emrys' nerves at ease (hopefully).
"Mag Mell, I'm delighted to meet with you tonight," said Celsus. "And please, don't worry, meeting here is fine."
He grasped Mag Mell's hand briefly, and then reached out and tugged his brother forward, Emrys' face already scarlet with anxiousness, his hands visibly trembling. But he still managed to hold one out to the other knight, even if Celsus could practically feel Emrys attempting to withdraw into himself.
"Mag Mell, this is my brother, Emrys," he said lightly. "Emrys, meet Mag Mell, of Cosmos. He is a very good man."

"You flatter me too much, Celsus." The Knight of Cosmos shook his head, slight smirk curving the corners of his mouth upward as he took hold of Celsus's hand. He gave it a shake and let go so that he could take Emrys by the hand next. The Neptune squire's hand was given a firm but gentle shake before he released it, not wanting to hold on for longer than was necessary in greeting. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Emrys-- A pleasure to meet anyone who isn't going to swing first and ask questions later, really, but..." He was grinning as he spoke; his own way of brushing off nerves showing through. "I hope the two of you have been well lately."

Emrys, to his credit, did not actually try and run away, even if he wanted to, and accepted the offered hand of Mag Mell without yanking his fingers back. Celsus couldn't quite blame him, though his reasons for being hesitant with shaking hands was for an entirely different reason.
"We have been well, yes," said Celsus with a smile, and it was perfectly true. "And nonsense, I flatter you only as much as you deserve," he added, the smile turning slightly mischievous.
"I, erm, yes," said Emrys, sounding flustered, but Celsus could see the minute easing of his shoulders. "I...I heard that - that you were a-also once in the N-Negaverse, M-Mag Mell...?"

"I was, yes." The Cosmos Knight nodded slowly, seeming somber for a brief moment as he shifted to tuck the edge of his cloak back over his shoulder to reveal the medals he had pinned to his chest. "Former Captain Richterite, from what I've been told. I don't remember any of it, which is likely for the best, all things considered." Enough information had been fed back to him by those he had exchanged words with prior to his purification that he knew all that he needed to know-- Who he'd been, a very small handful of names with little information about any of them, rank and years of service. That had been enough. "I'm glad to be who I am right now, though. Much better company." His grin returned to his lips, bringing with it a bit of light to his eyes.

Celsus absently twisted the Chronos sigil around his neck, letting his fingers slide along the points as Mag Mell spoke. Emrys was watching him with a small frown on his face, not out of displeasure, but out of sadness more than anything else.
"I...I d-don't remember anything a-about being in the N-Negaverse, either," he said hesitantly, after a moment. "M-my fiance t-told me I was Lieutenant C-Cerussite, but I d-don't, u-um....r-recall any of that."
His face was flushed with the shame of it all, because it wasn't fair. Eurydike remembered, and Emrys did not. Celsus remembered, and Emrys did not. He was the one who did not have to carry the weight of his own mistakes while the people he loved did.
"I'm g-glad," said Emrys tentatively. "I - I...am too. It's, um. Still new. But, um."
