It was late once again by the time that Derrick got off of work. But the store did close at 9PM so he couldn't exactly do anything about it being so late. He was just glad he was done with school and didn't mind working a retail job.

Tonight though he had decided to get some training in while powered. He had only done a couple of battles and while they had gone okay, he still didn't know how exactly to go about fighting someone.

So, after he had been able to drop off his stuff at his apartment, he had gone and powered up in what he thought was a deserted park. However, as soon as he had gotten done powering up, he sensed the presence of a corrupted senshi. He could have ignored it, but his curiosity got the better of him. This one was more powerful than the one he had met last time, and although that worried him a bit, he still wanted to see what they were up to.

When he finally got to the spot that he had sensed the aura coming from, he could see the senshi, draining energy from a victim.

"Can you stop crying already? For the fiftieth time, I'm not gonna kill you." Ochre spoke down to his victim - a girl in her teenage years, who collapsed on the ground in a crying heap - and felt exasperated by her all the same. If Ochre had to guess how her evening went, he would say that she tried to dress up for the first party in her life and did so badly, then went and had a shitty time at said party where she was made fun of by her peers, went home early, and then ran into a corrupted senshi who proceeded to drain her enenrgy. If he were in a different frame of mind, he might've pitied her, but a quota demanded more of his time and attention than empathy. "I get it. You had a bad day. You want to go home. Look, this might help you relax a little. You'll sleep like, really well tonight. I promise."

Blood began to trickle from his nose, and a familiar headache sprouted at the front of his head. The corrupted senshi groaned. "Okay, now get out of here." The orb he obtained from her looked sizable enough. "Go tell your mom what happened. No, she's not gonna kill you…" Ochre rolled his eyes at the girl's retreat. More and more he started to wonder if killing his draining victims proved a better alternative.

But the wonder for that would not last; as he watched the girl's retreating pigtails, he felt a burgeoning light south of him. It felt like a flashlight, as far as Ochre discerned - not a floodlight, and not a stadium light like an eternal. Really. All this and I have to deal with a senshi too? I just wanna go to bed and be done with this night. Again, the eternal rubbed at his nose. The drained energy winked out into subspace at his will.

He turned then, and took a few steps that nearly sent him to the ground from his unwieldy ropes of hair. Inwardly he cursed. "Hey," he called out into the dark of the trees. "I know you're out there. How long have you been creeping around? Go home or something." Ugh. What's with these nosebleeds? I swear they're senshi-related…

Well, it seemed that the other senshi expected him, though it was no surprise considering that both of them could sense auras. At least this senshi had let his victim go and Caliban had to admit, that was a LOT of hair. He didn't think he could deal with that himself.

Unfortunately it seemed that Caliban was too late to stop the other, though it seemed that the enemy corrupted senshi wasn't going to go after the victim. He stepped out from behind the trees, keeping himself ready just in case the senshi tried to attack him when he least expected it.

"I just got here, seems I wasn't able to stop you though." He replied, walking a couple of steps closer. "I was going to try to help her but... I guess it's just the two of us now." He probably couldn't defeat this guy, considering his power level, but... if he wasn't killed then it would be a good way to get some information on this senshi, right?

"Yeah, it's just the two of us. And it's gonna be just the one of us once you excuse yourself and go home." Ochre gesticualted sweeping motions with his hand. He saw no reason to spend time on a basic senshi like this. Briefly he snorted back some of the blood that trickled gently from his nose.

What was with senshi and trying to protect strangers, anyway? It wasn't like Ochre was killing them and leaving their bodies in the streets. And even if he did, was business was it of theirs? Unless he killed one of their relatives, seeking him out for the murder of a stranger was a pointless, wasteful endeavor, right? That's what Umber would say. The benefit of killing them outweighed the costs it incurred, or something like that.

s**t, when did he start thinking like Umber?

"Seriously. Go home." Ochre decided that he would not reroute himself based on the presence of another senshi, so he started walking straight toward the other man with the intent to simply pass him on the narrow park sidewalks.

Caliban frowned a bit. It didn't seem that this senshi wanted to fight, but if he left the situation alone, it seemed that this senshi would still be out and about looking for more victims. Right? Or did they usually just stop at one? He didn't know, he hadn't encountered enough of them yet to be able to tell.

He was a bit put off on what to do, but he felt as though he couldn't leave the situation alone. "Hey, wait just a minute." He could at least try and figure out if the other was going out to find more victims. However, it seemed that what he said didn't register to the other and the other seemed to want to pass right by him on the sidewalk.

"Hey, stop! Seal Away!" And he swung his fist out. Oops. Perhaps he was a bit too enthusiastic about trying to do 'good' tonight, because this didn't seem to be a situation that really warranted an attack yet.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Seal Away
When Caliban hits an opponent with one of his fists, it causes the opponent to be temporarily paralyzed, where the opponent was hit (either the whole arm, whole leg, or torso+head), for 15 seconds. Can be used twice in battle period."]

Ochre waved his hand away at the senshi when he called for Ochre's halt, which likely fueled the coming circumstances. Ochre thought little of it when he first heard the words, but his step lurched when he felt the donkey punch to the back of his head. Dazed, Ochre fell to the ground, and found himself utterly unable to speak. Beyond the blooming pain between the back of his head and his cheek where it scraped concrete, Ochre felt almost as if he had lockjaw throughout his entire head. He could not move neck, cheeks, mouth… If he had anything to say, he couldn't manage a word of it.

More blood pooled from his nose, and Ochre's sharp sigh formed slight ripples in the surface. Small hands gathered next to him and he pushed himself upright, even if his head pounded and his muscles refused to obey him. His hands remained tensed on the ground - perhaps the only indication if his rage at this senshi for attacking when he tried to leave.

Really though, if you t̸h̴ink a̸bout̵ ͝it͝, you woulda gone and tried to drain more energy. So, I mean, he was only doing
what'###s right.

Enough.

Silently, as he could not yet speak, Ochre held up a single hand. All five fingers splayed outward, and in intervals of seconds, each finger curled down into a fist - a countdown. A warning.

Oh ****. Caliban thought as he watched the other senshi fall. He really hadn't meant to hit the guy in the head. He had been aiming for the shoulder! And it looked like the guy had hurt his nose too with all of the blood that was coming out.

Caliban started to panic. He hadn't meant to hurt the guy that badly! What if he killed him! He knew that the guy really couldn't speak and was about to go and check to see if the senshi was doing okay when he saw the other push himself up and start to count down with his fingers.

Yep, it was time to get out of here. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't aiming to hit you in the head, really!" Apologizing to a Negaverse agent? Really, what kind of senshi was he? But it didn't matter at this point. Caliban's brain was telling him to run, run and power down and just hope that the other guy couldn't follow.

"Sorry." He said before running as fast as he could out of the area. This was the first time he had actually felt afraid of one of these senshi, it was as he had been told, he doubted this guy would let him leave alive if he didn't get out of there quickly enough. So Caliban ran as fast as he could out of the area, and when he found a far away and good enough hiding spot, he calmed down and had to sit down for a bit, trying to calm himself down so he wouldn't faint from fear.

At least, Ochre found, the kid had the good sense to run the other way. Not that Ochre felt in any particular mood to murder anyone, but giving the impression of it paid off in the end. The sudden strick to his head aggravated an already-present headache, and started anew the trickle of blood from his nose. He felt no particular interest in getting up that moment.

He soaked most of the mess with his sleeve, and only occasionally paused to look at it. Moist and mottled, the aftermath brought to mind the many months he spent enduring this condition, and all the lack of answers surrounding it. What caused it? He found that it simply started one day, without cause, and no MRI or CT scan gave him viable information on its origins. No —

There remained a reason for it, and Ochre knew it, but the explanation burrowed down so deep inside of him that he could not begin to suss it out. The itch of its presence ran down into the bone, and Ochre lacked the wherewithal to dig so far into his own skin. Instead he simply remained there, focused on the dull throb that laced through his teeth, and waited for it to fade.

When he stood at last, he thought little of the senshi that struck him. It seemed excusable, though he remained conflicted on the matter. Ultimately, he was too tired to debate it. A blink, and no one stood amongst the solemn trees guarding the park.
