Jacinta had left the comfort of her own home for several reasons, but one of them was her desire to connect with her niece and nephew. So far though, the always ran away from her whenever she tried to get close. The second they made eye connect, they left the room. She'd not sure how they even came to know she was from the Dragonglass clan. They didn't share any classes, so her name hadn't be said around them. They weren't even in the same house! Maybe her brother had mentioned her at some point, but they all would have been really young at that time....

At this rate she was about to give up on getting to know them. She just wanted them to find some comfort in a family member. She never really understood why her father didn't take in the orphans left behind in that terrible accident. Why did they have to be sent so far away? For family was more than capable of taking in the twins. It would have been fun to grow up with her niece and nephew, all together in the Scepters.

With a sigh she sat down a bench the the court yard. It was a little chilly and honestly she didn't like the cold much. Being outside in the clear air tended to help her think better though.

It wasn't that Lori and Bailey knew they had family here, it was the simple fact that they avoided other Chimera after the 'accident' that claim the lives of their parents. They had noticed a particular kid popping up again and again. They didn't have any students with the girl, so they really had no idea why she was so interested in them. Lori was honestly starting to get curious. Who was that purple-haired girl that seemingly stalked them? Bailey kept telling her to just ignore the other girl, but she couldn't stand it anymore.

Luck must have been on her side today, she had managed to get away from Bailey for a second and was wandering around in the courtyard where she spotted a familiar face on a bench there. It was time she finally got some answers.

The girl looked surprised when she wandered over. She crossed her arms in front of her, trying to look as intimidating as a shrimpy Chimera could. "I see you staring at us a lot. What's your deal? Spying on us or somethin'?" Lori certainly wasn't prepared for what was about to happen next.

Jacinta was minding her own business and the last think she expected was one of the twins approaching her. Although, her attitude didn't seem to be all that great. Her eyes squinted a bit to look at the much smaller chimera. Pictures never quite did anyone justice, but Jacinta didn't expect Lori to be so small. Jacinta wasn't the tallest a Chimera could be at her age, but Lori had to be the smallest. It was almost too cute the way her niece was trying to be intimidating.

With a little laugh she finally spoke up, sliding off of her bench. "My name is Jacinta and believe it or not, I'm your Aunt." She waited for that bombshell to hit, expecting the other girl to be happy that she had some family here.

Lori took a step back when the other girl slide off of the bench. SO what if they were taller, Lori could take her down if she wanted a fight! The laughing took her back a bit, probably because it sounded so much like something she'd do in the other girls' shoes to scare someone off. What she said next though made her jaw drop. Family! Here?! She took a few more steps back and held her arms out in front of her to make sure the other girl didn't come any closer.

"The only 'family' I have is Bailey. And we don't want to have anything to do with the Dragonglass Clan." She erupted in a tiny rage. Jacinta could only be from that terrible clan, her mother's parents were radically different from them because she had been adopted into the Obsidian clan. And Jacinta did have that paleness of that dreaded clan.

"Are you here to finish the job or something?" Lori glared and her tail whipped behind her. This was not cute.

Honestly, Jacinta was rather shocked. Really, she thought Lori and Bailey wouldn't be all that welcome to her at first. After all, the Dragonglass chose not to take in the twins when their parents passed. But, she was surprised that Lori seemed to be accusing them of being involved in that accident. How could anyone cause a cave in? It had been a freak accident that no one could have predicted.

"That doesn't even make any sense! I just want to be in your life...." Jacinta folded her hands in front of her nervously. She had been hoping to be a friend to the twins, someone they could come to for some comfort. "Wouldn't you want someone on your side?" Jacinta might not be much older than the twins, but she wanted to be like an Aunt to them, someone they could look up to.

Lori wasn't about to buy this for a second, Jacinta could look as innocent as she wanted. Lori wasn't buying what she was selling. Friends? With someone from that Clan? She didn't anything to do with a Chimera from a different clan, not any Chimera if she wasn't being honest. They were tricky creatures, willing to kill when someone neglected them even a little bit. No one would ever be on their side, no one was willing to open their eyes and see that 'accident' for what it really was.

"I wouldn't trust you as far as I could throw you!" Which definitely wasn't very far at all. She could work her entire lifetime to make up for something she considered an accident and she would never be important to them. Never make it up to them. Lori tuned her back and went to leave. She'd have to warn Bailey about Jacinta. They had been followed here. Would they be safe?

Jacinta was concerned now, just what had happened to these twins? Why were they pushing other family members away. The Dragonglass was a noble Chimera clan and she was trying to reach out to them in their place. Being as young as she was she couldn't possibly understand all of her father and mother's decision. Maybe they saw Bailey and Lori as a hopeless case, but Jacinta wouldn't turn her back on them. She couldn't.

"Lori, just talk to me....I don't pretend to understand....But....I would like to." Jacinta went to follow after Lori, though staying within a safe distance of that spikey tailed. She'd like to think Lori wouldn't hurt her, but it was better safe, than sorry.

Lori spun around on her Aunt who was insisting on following her, like heck she'd actually let her know where their dorm was. She needed to shake this nasty family member and then avoid them for the rest of their time here. Surely once their Academy years were done they could truly be rid of their family. Maybe she could find someway to convince Jacinta to leave. Bailey was the type to fight, but Lori was the type to plot. Time to make this girl's time at the Academy a living...well. She wouldn't finish that thought.

"You're just a poser. You only want to be my friend to ease your own conscience. It's not for my sake, but for yours." Lori got in the other's girls face, having to look up a bit to meet her eyes. "Go on, tell me it's for me and not for you. I dare you." Her fists were clenched at her side an she could see the other girl starting to crack.

Jacinta kept her back straight and head held high when Lori stepped up to her face. The tension was insane and she found she'd actually been holding her breathe during the confrontation. She was doing this for herself? She had left her home! Her siblings! Her family! All to be here with the twins. How could Lori even begin to judge her for that! How could she say this was for herself!

"Well, it seems clear I can't get through to you." Just what had happened to them? Her oldest brother had been a great man, at least as far as she had been told. She couldn't remember much about him. She'd been too young at the time and he'd already been married and lived with his wife's clan. Maybe she'd have to learn more about the Obsidians in order to get to the bottom of this mess.

"Fine. I'll leave you be." She took a step backwards and turned around to leave. She'd get to the bottom of this one way or another.

That's what Lori thought, Jacinta was looking out for no one but herself here. Maybe she was having a hard time making friends of her own? So that's why she had reached out to the 'family' that she had at the Academy. An Aunt? Only a year older than herself? That was ridiculous in it's own right. Lori put on a smirk when Jacinta finally backed away.

"Why don't you go cry to your Mommy! Beg her to bring you back home! I bet she'll be happy to have her runt back!" Lori was quite proud of her comment, it would be some time before she felt even remotely bad about it. In her eyes she'd gotten a small bit of revenge for her parents. They would want her to show the Dragonglass that what they were, were monsters. She watched Jacinta for some time, expecting a comeback, but the girl eventually was out of sight.

She shook out her shoulders and let out a deep breathe. She didn't show it around Jacinta, but her nerves were shot. It was time she got back to Bailey and told him what she'd just learned.
