- Name: Quinn Bailey
Gender/Pronoun: He/Him/His
Age: 1092, but appears early twenties.
Birthday: June 22, 2000 according to Earth.
Fav. Food: Fish, shellfish
Hated Food: Shrimp are usually too gamey for him.
Occupation: Nothing yet. Trying to figure out Earth.
Hobbies:
Swimming - Being in the water is natural for Quinn. Like everyone else from his world, being in the water was introduced to him at birth. He is most comfortable in the water and is not against climbing into fountains if he gets too stressed out. Although apparently that is not a normal thing for people on Earth.
Fishing - Not only is fishing familiar to him, but it’s relaxing as well. Bait fishing is a good opportunity for him to just breathe and meditate, while spearfishing is more exciting and involved, and hand-gathering helps him focus on details.
Sunbathing - If there is a sunny spot in a room, that is where Quinn would most likely be found. He is drawn to the warmth, and while he is content with a heated blanket, there is nothing quite like the warmth of the sun. Although apparently Earth has ruined their ozone layer so he has to wear protection in the form of sunscreen.
Virtues:
Curious - While he might show initial aversion to doing new things, Quinn is too naturally curious to ignore things. Someone could suggest something that he would be absolutely opposed to doing and would reject doing it, but curiosity would eat at him until he follows through with at least trying. This gives him a lot of room to grow and learn, although hopefully it will not eventually lead to anything dangerous. His curiosity can make him fearless about some things and cautious about others.
Self-sufficient - Preferring not to rely on anyone but himself, Quinn has been self-sufficient from a young age, despite being spoiled and pampered by others. Even if he’s not the best at something, he has at least learned the basics through self teaching. He rarely asks for help and is usually too stubborn to, anyway. Perhaps it was because he was pampered too much that he developed his stubborn need to do things for himself.
Honest - Sometimes brutally so, Quinn will be honest in his thoughts and opinions. He won’t skirt around any issues that come up, or try to sugarcoat bad news with positives. With Quinn, even if it’s not something you’d want to hear, at least he would be telling you the truth. In turn, he takes critique well when he asks for it, and keeps a level head during conflicts.
Flaws:
Arrogant - Quinn is hypersensitive to those who openly underestimate him. He understands his strengths, and does what he can to overcome his weaknesses. He has a bad habit of trying to overcompensate whatever it is he’s doing when someone else doesn’t believe he’s capable.
Antagonistic - Tying in with his tendency for arrogance and curiosity, Quinn isn’t afraid of poking a sleeping sea monster in the eye, so to speak. If he doesn’t like something or someone, he also has no opposition to showing hostility or aversion to them. He will openly question things that don’t make sense to him, and call people out for being, what he would consider, ridiculous.
Untrusting - Everything has a price; Quinn is no fool. He is convinced that the nicest person in the world has ulterior motives, even if it’s nothing nefarious. Even though he is curious about things, it takes a lot for him to truly trust something or someone, which is why he ends up testing whatever it is for himself. He wants to experience all that he can, but he does not expect there not to be a cost.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Bright turquoise
Hair: Light Blond
Face: Grumpy, fair skinned. Looks perpetually worn down.
Clothes: Always cold, so layers are a must.
Senshi: Sailor Enceladus, Senshi of Reservoirs
Challenge: Don't hold your breath...
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Engulf - Water in space (2:00 - 2:30 for visual)
Water with no effects of gravity forms an encasement around the target. The purpose is more to distract, provoke, or cause minor panic if someone is adverse to being submerged in water than it is to injure. It can slow a target down, make it difficult to see, prompt the target’s diving reflex to instinctively hold their breath. The water is shallow enough to manipulate and push it away from the nose and mouth if someone is desperate. The magic will disappear when the magic is over, so targets cannot drown from inhaling the water but they may feel the sensation of drowning or choking if they do accidentally inhale the water.
It lasts for 30 seconds before the water around them falls to the ground, and can leave the target winded and wet at player discretion..
This attack can be used 3 times.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Submerge - Water in space (2:00 - 2:30 for visual)
Water with no effects of gravity forms an encasement around the target. The magic provokes the urgent need to breathe, which could cause panic and hyperventilation upon being able to breathe again. The water is deep enough that it becomes much more difficult to manipulate and push it away from the nose and mouth if someone is desperate. The magic will disappear when the magic is over, so targets cannot drown from inhaling the water, but could cause lasting headaches and coughing up water if the player so chooses.
It lasts for 35 seconds before the water around them falls to the ground, and can leave the target winded and wet at player discretion.
This attack can be used 2 times.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Cold Shock Submersion
A bubble of icy water envelops the target from the feet up, causing the sensation of falling through thin ice. The target may feel the effects of cardiac distress as their heart works harder to pump blood through constricted arteries from the cold water, and panic from being submerged in icy water. A target cannot drown from inhaling water but the magic will give the sensation of what it could feel like to drown in icy water. The target may also feel like they are suffering from hypothermia for the duration of the magic.
It lasts for 45 seconds before the water around them falls to the ground, and can leave the target winded and wet, and if the player chooses, with additional symptoms of quick set hyperthermia.
This attack can be used 1 time.
Deep Space Senshi:
Physical Features:
- Enceladians look human, but due to their life in the water from a young age, they are naturally better swimmers than most people on Earth, and while they cannot breathe underwater, they can comfortably hold their breath for an incredibly long time. They do not do well in cold climates and often break out in rashes if the temperature is too low. They also find it difficult to breathe in places with high elevation.
On his homeworld, Quinn is able to hold his breath underwater for around thirty minutes. This may be due to Enceladus having more pure oxygen in its atmosphere. Quinn, whether due to the air quality or his weakened state, will only be able to hold his breath for a fraction of that time on Earth.
Enceladians age about five times slower than humans, so a 100 year old would be equivalent to that of a 20 year old human.
Backstory/History:
- Compared to other places in the universe, Enceladus was considered a paradise. It was a world that prided itself for their cultural history, their neutrality in other worldly conflicts, and most of all -- its resources. Specifically the abundance of fresh and salt water that covered over 90% of the planet’s surface.
Due to the warm climate and relative political peace, it made Enceladus an ideal vacation spot. The world was spotted with archipelagos, and their technology was advanced enough to detect seismic activity well in advance of any eruption. The Senshi of Enceladus was revered as a guardian of that world, since their magic was often used to help temper the explosive force of any volcanic activity, allowing the planet to continue to naturally develop while minimizing damage to the cities and towns built on nearby islands.
Quinn awakened when he was 36 (the equivalent to a human 7 year old), and the world rejoiced after decades of waiting. It would still take a very long time (even for Enceladian standards) for him to fully harness his magic, but being awakened meant he could start his training.
He was pampered and spoiled, but he still took his position seriously. He wanted to learn everything he could about his world and help it thrive, like so many Senshi before him.
When Chaos took over, it was a gradual thing. Surely a world like Enceladus wouldn’t be susceptible to Chaos, unlike the other worlds around them. But over time things started to change. Storms got worse, multiple volcanic eruptions started happening at once, and resources started to dwindle.
Against his wishes, Quinn, and hundreds of others, were placed into stasis pods to wait out whatever was happening on their world. Once the world settled, they would be able to help rebuild.
But as the world froze over, Quinn was the only one to survive, kept alive by Enceladus itself.
