■ WILDAs a child Illisa was often likened to Little Red Riding Hood- if you told her not to do something or not to go somewhere, she was bound to do exactly that. As a teenager she was wayward and rebellious, known for her sarcastic nature and lack of regard for practically any rule. As an adult Lisa has mellowed somewhat, and is more inclined to look before she leaps, but she still has a side of her that yearns to go everywhere and do everything, consequences be damned. ■ ROMANTICIllisa has always been somewhat of a covert romantic. While never quite yearning for a handsome prince- or princess- to gallop up on a white horse and sweep her off her feet, as a child and adolescent Lisa usually struggled to reconcile reality to her fantastic dreams- she was going to see the world, she was going to have a million handsome men and beautiful women fall at her feet, she'd be an internationally championed duelist... It's all left her more than a little regretful and bitter for what could have been. ■ HEADSTRONGIllisa has always been of one mind when it comes to what she wants: she's getting it, and no one is telling her no. She's not inclined to listen to the advice or suggestions of others, and can be incredibly obstinate when challenged on her views. Lisa doesn't like to follow any rules or codes but her own, and refuses to feel any shame for nearly all of her actions, past and present, with a few very notable exceptions. ■ LOYALAs a child, all anyone had to do was look sideways at one of Illisa's three brothers, be they older or younger, and she'd immediately leap into battle mode. Due to the death of her parents when she was very young, Lisa grew up of the mindset that in order to survive, she and her siblings had to stick together. This has followed her into her adult life: she'd do anything for her family. ■ FEARLESSFor as long as she could remember, nothing ever seemed to scare Illisa. She didn't have the typical fears other children had; she was quite content to play in the dark, adored listening to thunder rumble overhead, and hopeful a monster would emerge from under her bed for her to challenge to a duel. As an adolescent, Lisa stalked around with the attitude that anything ought to get her had better look over its shoulder in case she got it first. After the Hargrave murders, the adult fears began to creep their way in. ■ THOUGHTLESSIllisa, while rarely cruel or dismissive of others intentionally, has always had the what some might call typical Gryffindor ego. She tends to consider her own desires and needs first, everyone else be damned. Since the birth of her son she has had to learn how to think of someone else before herself, but Lisa still can be blinded by what she sees as the way forward, ignoring the fact that she is leaving everyone else behind.

CHILDHOODIllisa was born the third child and only daughter of Nathair and Iseabal Thorburn, a pureblood wizard and a muggle woman. Nathair came from a long line of Gryffindors, and had met his future wife through his work with the Muggle Liaison office. While his parents were perplexed by his relationship with a muggle government secretary, the two lovers happily eloped just five months after meeting. Lisa was spoiled rotten as the only girl in the family, although her mother despaired over her aversion to all things feminine or 'ladylike'. Her brothers were equally protective of her, as she was of them, although her temper often clashed with that of her eldest brother, Callum, and she delighted in exasperating her second eldest brother, Seumas. Her younger brother Caelan was her best friend. When Illisa was only nine her parents were killed in a dark wizard attack while vacationing in Oslo, leaving the Thorburn children orphans. Luckily, Callum, the oldest, was sixteen, about to turn seventeen, and so took over guardianship of his younger siblings upon graduating from Hogwarts.
SCHOOL YEARS Lisa soundly enjoyed her time at Hogwarts; she was rather popular due to her bold comments and complete disregard for what anyone thought of her, although she was continuously disappointed that she was never the star Quidditch player Callum had been. Like the rest of her siblings she was sorted into Gryffindor, but had friends in all houses, and despite her overprotective brothers's worries, dated both boys and girls in all houses. She had some hopes of becoming an Auror after graduation, but her exam scores, particularly in Charms and Potions, were never up to snuff.
POST GRADUATIONAfter graduating, Lisa, in no hurry to become a 'real adult' and get a job that would tie her down, traveled around a bit, although she quickly found herself in her first serious relationship. Nathaniel Hargrave was handsome, charming, and effortlessly witty. He was also married, but explained that he and his wife, although fond of one another, held no real attraction between them, as their marriage had been arranged by their respectively controlling pureblooded families. Because of this Nathaniel's marriage was quietly open, although he and his wife had one child already, an infant daughter. Illisa found the whole notion of sneaking around, right under the nose of some crotchety old purebloods too tempting to pass up, and was quickly head over heels for Nathaniel, whom she teasingly referred to as Nat.
She glossed over the relationship to her own family, saying that Nathaniel and his wife were separated, although the realization that she was pregnant with the man's illegitimate child gave her some pause. She'd had no desire to be a mother this young, but felt that he had a right to know, and Nathaniel persuaded her to keep the baby, assuring her that he intended to parent the child just as much as he did his own. Lisa tried to cheer herself, reckoning the baby would at least grow up almost as a sibling to her own brother Seumas's child, as his wife was expecting. She wanted to name her son after her father, Nathair, but Nathaniel begged her to let her name the boy Myron, after a beloved uncle of his who had died young. She conceded.
She found herself too busy raising Myron to travel much anymore or think about work, and when Callum died in a freak flying accident a few years later, family seemed that much more important. Nathaniel now had two daughters with his wife, Liliana. He explained that his father wanted an heir, and was growing suspicious of his son's constant absences from the family home. Lisa, wary that Nathaniel might any day now abruptly cut himself out of her and their son's lives, pulled away. Maybe she didn't want marriage, but she wasn't a love struck eighteen year old anymore, and was tired of feeling like a dirty secret. She also didn't want another pregnancy; Myron's had been difficult. Nathaniel, to his credit, continued to keep up with his son as a father figure, but didn't push for their previous relationship to resume.
However, by the time Illisa was twenty seven she found herself sucked back in again; Nathaniel was tired, he said, of feeling powerless in his own house, and he and Liliana had agreed to divorce and go their separate ways, with joint custody of their two children. This decisive display from someone whom she had only ever known as indecisive was enough for Lisa to agree to start seeing Nathaniel romantically again, and when he and Liliana finally divorced the two immediately married.
They had just returned home from their honeymoon. Lisa saw her son off to a friend's house before going to visit her brother. Nathaniel was moving the last of his things from his family's home, as was his newly ex wife. Ira Hargrave, her father-in-law, whom the last time they'd spoken her called her in no uncertain terms 'a filthy little whore', and Faron, her brother-in-law, whom she'd seen numerous times over the years and regarded as something of an adopted younger brother, were nowhere to be seen. Lisa didn't remember much after going to see Seumas, beyond bright lights and pain, a lot of it, and the way her brother's head lolled after it was nearly severed from its neck by the sheer force of the sectumsempra Ira Hargrave hit him with.
He was dead and little Todd, only ten, her nephew, was dead, and Miriam Hargrave, her new mother-in-law, who'd only ever been kind, if distant, towards her, was dead, and Liliana was dead and Nathaniel was dead and Faron was in prison and all of it was her fault. Three severed fingers, numerous scars, and knowing she'd likely be walking for the rest of her life with a cane seemed a small price to pay in return for all of that death and suffering.
While she and Nathaniel were away on their honeymoon, Ira had discovered that they had been seeing one another for years, and that they'd had a son together. He'd gone to their new home first, to kill the boy, but Myron had been nowhere to be seen. The one thing Illisa had to be thankful for, she reasoned, was that she still had her son. She was also now the guardian of Miranda and Callista, Nathaniel and Lilliana's daughters, all the while seeing her name plastered all over the front page of the Daily Prophet, the newspaper she worked for. It was funny, Lisa thought, how some things turned out.
Some years later, Lisa struck up a friendship and then a tenuous relationship with Lock, a man she initially assumed to be a reclusive muggle but whom she later discovered was actually an unregistered werewolf, and alpha of his own pack.

■ SPIRITEDMiranda, while always polite and generally calm in demeanor, is energetic, enthusiastic, and determined when it comes to the things she cares about. She can be quite animated and talkative when you get her going, and while not naturally argumentative, enjoys a good debate from time to time. She generally tries to stay positive, even if life experience has taught her that the people will frequently let you down. ■ WITTYMiranda inherited both her mother's sharp tongue and her father's sarcasm, which combined into a very clever sense of humor. While she would never mock someone to their face, she usually has a few things to say about everyone she meets, and they're not always very flattering. Miranda has manners, but she doesn't think that means she shouldn't know how to make a joke or two. ■ ASTUTEAs someone from a magical family who has attended muggle school, Miranda knows far more about the magical and muggle worlds combined than most people, and frequently uses it to her advantage. She enjoys learning new things, and is naturally quite clever, and can usually talk her way into- and out of- various different situations, as well as having a firm grasp on most people. ■ SELF-SUFFICIENTGrowing up Miranda's parents were loving, but not overly involved in their children's lives, not ones to fuss or congratulate very often. Miranda quickly learned that the person she could depend on most was herself, and is not just physically but quite emotionally independent, to the point of coming off as a bit aloof and detached. She's not very clingy towards other people, and usually does just fine on her own. ■ FRANKMiranda, while not opposed to telling the occasional white lie to get herself or others out of trouble, highly values honesty and cannot stand people who rely on being passive aggressive and deceitful to get through life. She is especially direct and honest with people she trusts, as she believes in tackling issues head-on, rather than pretending they don't exist. ■ GRACIOUSMiranda was raised to be courteous, demure, and pleasant, even if others did not respond in kind. She takes pride in her manners and civility towards others, especially when she is in the pureblooded society her parents and grandparents came from, where she is more often than looked down on for her lack of magic and seen as nothing more than future breeding stock. Miranda takes great pleasure in staring people down with a polite smile.

CHILDHOODMiranda was the first 'failed' product of an arranged marriage between two purebloods, Nathaniel Hargrave, a Hogwarts graduate who'd been in Ravenclaw like his mother, much to the disappointment of his Slytherin father, and Liliana Hargrave nee Rosales, a Beauxbatons graduate from Spain. It became very apparent as Miranda grew older that she was not magical in the slightest, and while she was always treated kindly by her parents and grandmother, if a bit pityingly, her grandfather was less warm. Miranda, by the age of five or six, was almost certain Ira Hargrave despised her on principle. By the age of ten, the feeling was mutual.
Her paternal grandfather didn't dare lay hands on or raise his wand against her, mostly due to the almost rabid protection of her mother, but Miranda was bright enough to see that it was only a matter of time before things rapidly fell apart. Her parents, in over a decade of marriage, had only produced two children, both girls, the elder a squib. Everyone with any sense at all could see that were was no love lost between Nathaniel and Liliana; they were polite and perfectly capable of making amiable conversation, but they obviously held no serious interest in one another. Ira was increasingly unstable. Her grandmother Miriam was a shrinking violet who usually blended in with the wallpaper. Her uncle Faron, twelve years her senior, was a delicate, twitchy sort of boy. and Miranda had no idea how he'd ever made it through seven years as a Slytherin.
Things did fall apart; first there was the revelation that Nathaniel had a woman on the side, and a child, and that Liliana had known about it, and then there was the divorce and Miranda and her sister were bustled off to Spain to spend a few weeks with their mother's family while 'things were settled'. They returned home to England to find that they were now orphans, that Ira was dead, Faron in prison, and nearly half their family murdered. Miranda didn't pretend to know exactly why her grandfather and young uncle had decided to torture and kill five people, but somehow, the whole thing was far less shocking, when she thought about it, than it should have been. A choice was presented to her and Callista: stay in England and live with their father's official widow, Illisa Hargrave, nee Thorburn, or go to Spain and stay with their mother's family. Miranda reluctantly chose the former, knowing the Rosales family would pull her out of muggle school immediately, and Callista stayed with her.
SCHOOL YEARS Miranda was tutored privately until she reached secondary school age. She currently boards at a muggle private school close to home, and is fairly popular with her classmates, despite some comments on how 'old-fashioned' she tends to talk and dress.

■ BITTERMyron, having inherited what some term the 'Thorburn moodiness' from his mother's side, is prone to feeling slighted and resentful, although these feelings do have some ground in reality, seeing as although he always knew both his parents loved him and truly considered him their son, knowing he was the b*****d child and that his father seemingly couldn't be bothered to marry his mother stung. He's got a nasty habit of feeling constantly wronged, even when it's justified. ■ COURAGEOUSMyron has never been afraid to do the right thing or help someone else, even when it puts him at risk. He's not easily intimidated or cowed by other people, and while not as impulsive as say, his mother, won't think twice before speaking his mind or doing what he thinks necessary. He's very protective of his friends and family, and not afraid to show it. ■ KINDDespite his moods and sometimes prickly nature, Myron does try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and treats others the way he'd like to be treated. While not quite cheery or very outgoing, he is always willing to listen to someone else vent and offer advice, and he does care very deeply about the people around him, as he knows what it's like to feel ignored or left out. ■ OPEN-MINDEDMyron may not go out of his way to make friends, but he is very tolerant of others and respectful, something trained into him by his mother, who often remarked that her worst fear would be to have a prejudiced snob for a child. Having grown up in a very non-traditional family, not much fazes Myron, and he is usually willing to just 'go with the flow', so to speak. ■ SHREWDMyron has never considered himself exceptionally clever; he likes reading and all, and does decently in school, but you could say he's far more street smart than book smart. He's not easily manipulated and is cynical enough to be far from gullible or naive, and thus usually prides himself on being fairly good at reading people and their intentions. ■ DECISIVEMyron cannot stand indecision or waiting around for things to change. Once he decides to do something, he does it. He can't stand people who are constantly waffling or changing their minds, and it's very difficult to change his mind on something once he comes to a decision. He'd rather be known as stubborn than hesitant.

CHILDHOODMyron is the product of an 'affair' between Nathaniel Hargrave and Illisa Thorburn- 'affair' because his father's marriage, which had been arranged, was privately open and his wife at the time had no real issue with him seeing Myron's mother on the side. His existence was kept secret from his paternal grandparents, but he saw his father regularly growing up, although his mother was always his primary caregiver. Myron loved his parents, but couldn't help but feel as though some small part of his father was ashamed of him, despite what he said, and that some small part of his mother wished he'd never been born, as she'd had him very young. He waited impatiently for the day when his father would finally make up his mind and divorce his current wife, Liliana, so they could be an 'official family', but it never seemed to come. When it finally did, after ultimatum after ultimatum delivered by his mother, the happiness was short-lived- in the matter of a day his father, grandmother, uncle, and cousin were all dead at the hands of his paternal grandfather, Ira Hargrave, and uncle, Faron Hargrave. Myron understood that this was indirectly because of him and his mother, and thus found that his childhood had come to an abrupt end at the age of ten. He and his parents had been a family for what seemed like a split-second, and then they'd been punished for it, and Myron didn't think he could take another punishment like that. Hogwarts, by the time he'd recieved his letter, seemed a welcome escape from a newly disabled mother, and two half-sisters who both loved and hated him at the same time.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEARMyron was happy to be sorted into Gryffindor, just like his mother's side of the family, and enjoyed his time at Hogwarts very much, despite being pretty quiet and not making any close friends in particular. He liked the change in scenery and most of his classes and professors, and was happy to sleep in a slightly drafty old tower. The food was also just as good as promised, much to his satisfaction. SECOND YEARMyron got lost much less often in his second year, except for when he purposefully got lost to avoid his half-sister, who seemed intent on interrogating him about the castle whenever she got the chance. Luckily, they weren't in the same house. THIRD YEARMyron was pleased with his position as reserve keeper for Gryffindor, and enjoyed himself at the Halloween carnival. Callista also left him alone more, caught up with her own shenanigans. FOURTH YEARMyron almost died over the summer, due to Faron tracking them down. Luckily he didn't manage to kill anyone, but Myron was still infuriated with Callista, who was partially to blame for providing their location to Faron. He calmed down over the course of the year, and met a hotheaded fifth year named Greer. FIFTH YEARMyron briefly dated Greer during the autumn and winter of his fifth year, before they were decided they were better off as friends and broke up in January. He also wanted to focus on studying for his OWLs, which he wanted to do well on. SIXTH YEARMyron had a quiet sixth year, enjoying the break from exams. He spent some more time with his friend Drew and by the end of the year had developed a bit of a crush on the younger girl, mostly due to her confident attitude and assertive nature. SEVENTH YEARMyron worked up the nerve to ask Drew out, and was happily surprised when she said yes. He also enjoyed a good year for Gryffindor quidditch, although his focus was split between that and his looming NEWTs. Mostly, he was relieved to get through his last year at school without any major incidents.
POST GRADUATIONAfter graduation Myron and Drew broke up amicably, but agreed to remain friends. Myron went on to pursue a career as a Ministry witch watcher.

■ CHARISMATICCallista has always found it easy to win others over; she is exuberant, outgoing, and quick to make seemingly close friends with those around her. She shares details of her personal life willingly and freely, and genuinely enjoys being in group settings; when left alone she tends to withdraw and brood. Callista hates feeling ignored or dismissed, and will go great lengths to establish herself as someone others should take heed of. ■ DRIVENCallista is a quick learner who wants to be the best at everything she tries her hand at. She struggles with feeling inferior to others when she is not immediately successful at something, and often lashes out at others when she doesn't reach her goals quickly enough. ■ DEMANDINGCallista is very much used to getting what she wants. Spoiled since birth, she's very much used to preferential treatment, and is usually shocked at the notion that she not be given consideration above well... everyone else. She believes she deserves just about whatever comes to mind, and can be extremely unpleasant when she feels passed over. ■ ARROGANTCallista thinks very highly of herself, and isn't afraid to show it. Her pride will always be her downfall, and she can come across as extremely haughty and conceited. She rarely feels as though she said or did the wrong thing, and has a very hard time admitting she was wrong or apologizing to others, even when its deserved. Those who are more self-deprecating or simply low in self esteem she regards as fools. ■ INSENSITIVECallista is not a very sensitive person. Things tend to simply roll off her, and she isn't one to bicker back and forth with others, instead preferring to ignore any mockery or criticism directed her way. She has a hard time putting up with people who constantly get their feelings hurt, and doesn't see why she should have to be mindful of others in that regard- after all, she doesn't think how they feel is her problem. ■ IMPATIENTCallista is known for her snappish temper and general lack of patience with everyone except those closest to her- while it's difficult to send her into a proper fit of anger, it's very, very easy to irritate or annoy her, even if all you'll get is a withering stare in return. She's a very restless person, even if she doesn't always show it, and when stressed can be quite agitated and on edge.

CHILDHOODCallista has lived an arguably very privileged, indulged life. The heir to her pureblood, old-fashioned family, she stands to inherit a good deal of wealth, and its accompanying influence, on her seventeenth birthday. Callista is the second daughter of Nathaniel and Liliana Hargrave, a British and Spanish wizard and witch, respectively, who had been arranged to be married since around the age of fifteen. Her father, a quiet, somewhat melancholy man, had been sorted into Ravenclaw, much to the contempt of his in turn Slytherin father, and her mother was a Beauxbatons graduate. Her older sister, Miranda, preceded her by two years, but it gradually became evident that she was not magical in the slightest. Callista never quite looked down on her sister for being a squib, but she did understand that in traditional pureblood society Miranda was an embarrassment at best and a source of shame at worst, while she, although not the desired male heir, was at least a witch.
Callista always felt that her father never had much time for her- he was always away, she thought rather indignantly, and never seemed to dote on her as she thought a proper father should. After all, she was the closest he had to an heir, with no sons. But Nathaniel was distant, and Liliana was too busy defending Miranda from scorn to worry much about her 'normal' child. Callista despised feeling normal. A self-absorbed little girl, Callista did not take much note of the dynamics of her family. Grandfather was cruel and slightly mad, but that was just his way, and he'd never harmed a hair on her head, so she didn't worry herself with such thoughts. Grandmother was waning and frail, both physically and mentally. Father and Mother were strange with each other and although they rarely argued, sometimes had hushed debates about what to do with Miranda. The person she was closest to her was her young uncle, Faron, fourteen years her senior.
Faron was kind and clever and indulged her usually rather bratty whims, when he was home from school. She considered him a beloved older brother, which was why it was a bit of a shock to come home from a trip to visit family in Spain to find that he and her grandfather had murdered her parents, grandmother, and her father's mistress's brother and nephew. Callista had still been reeling from the new that her perfect parents were separating at the time- she had not been informed of the open marriage or the woman on the side or the half-brother. Betrayed on so many counts, Callista clung to the hope that Faron had been forced into the violent acts, despite his confession proving otherwise. He had to have been imperiused. He had to. The Faron she knew wouldn't hurt a fly, never mind people he cared about. He was innocent, and one day everyone else would understand and he wouldn't have to stay in prison anymore. It was as simple as that, and Callista, now under the care of her new 'stepmother' along with her sister, after having insisted on staying in England, rather liked such a simple notion now that her pristine little kingdom had been cracked in half.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEARCallista was sorted into Slytherin, to her smug delight. She went on with her year enjoying her classes and professors, and either antagonizing or irritating her housemates, most of whom she deemed unworthy of her friendship. She also consistently bickered with the same two boys, Akira from Slytherin and Ibarra from Gryffindor. SECOND YEARCallista tried out for quidditch during her second year and was delighted to make the team, and first string at that, as a chaser. She also attended the Halloween festival, and had more fun than she expected, although her habit of arguing with her peers continued, particularly with her housemates. THIRD YEARCallista spent most of her third year in a state of unshakable guilt. She blamed herself for her murderer uncle tracking down the family over the summer and almost finishing the job. However, she was promoted to vice captain of the Slytherin team, and did her best to ignore any inkling of a crush on Akira. FOURTH YEARCallista spent her fourth year focusing on Quidditch, even if they stood no chance of winning, and ignoring the fact that the only way she knew how to flirt was by starting increasingly absurd arguments with Akira. FIFTH YEARCallista had a very stressful fifth year, with OWLs around the corner and having to assume the mantle of quidditch team captain. Slytherin did not win the cup, suffice to say, but she did do fairly well on her exams, to her relief, although most of the pressure on her was applied by herself. SIXTH YEARCallista had a much better year, Quidditch-wise, anyways, although she was increasingly frustrated by Akira's 'failure' to ask her out, despite her frequent 'suggestions'- aka glaring at him intensely whenever he entered the room. SEVENTH YEARCallista focused on Quidditch and studying for her NEWTs during her seventh year, at times to a somewhat disturbing level of obsession. Luckily, her efforts for the most part paid off.
