It was cold out and she was not dressed for it. Yes, she wore plenty of heavy clothing but still she was wearing a skirt and heels of which neither was good for winter. The skirt let wind up to bite and freeze the skin it covered. The bare skin, uncovered, was left to deal with the harsh winter on it’s own and the hells...well that was obvious. They left her feet vulnerable not to mention they were not good for walking in snow and even worse for walking on ice. The chances of her slipping were...not something she cared to deal with and yet she did.
Frilly sleeves were pressed to her sides as she walked across the rooftop and reaching the edge prepared to jump, not for the first nor the last time that night she hoped she would land alright. The only good thing was the heels of her shoes weren’t too pointed and slender, making them less likely to snap or give out from under her in some way.
The jump was...nerve wracking for her but the landing was just as much so - until she was able to take stock of the fact she had, again, landed well and safe. That done, and realized, she straightened herself and settled her skirt down, as if it really mattered. So far nothing unusual tonight but she was headed for the park intent on seeing if she could find and maybe even catch on of those bunnies which were all over the news. They weren’t right - not at all!
With what the reports were saying she was sure something was wrong with them. It was similar, at least sort of, to the bats during the Halloween carnival. She was sure the Negaverse was somehow involved but how she did not know….she just needed to find it out - why wasn’t anyone else? Or were other people and she just didn’t know it, since she knew...no one. That was something she wished would change for her, she needed to know others - to meet others.

“You're an odd one, aren't you?” came an even voice. There was an eternal senshi there, standing on solid, earthen soil - something she had not done in quite some time. Kallichore stood facing a small white and shivering specimen of the lagomorphic variety. Tilting her head, the senshi either seemed to be scrutinizing it, or examining it.
It (obviously) didn't have a response to Kallichore’s inquiries, which she seemed to accept. The eternal stood a healthy six feet away from the creature and had crossed her arms to let her long sleeves cover the holes the cosmic tailor seemed to adore. “There are so many of you, and that seems… unnatural. Where did you come from?”
Not that she would likely get a response… the eternal shrugged. Earthly things were not of her utmost concern over the past few years. She turned to walk away from the rabbit when she caught the distinctive signature of a super nearby. Speaking with another of her kind was a rarity these days. Perhaps she should learn to unplug, as it were, from her current pursuits in order to be more… social. Not that she was the best at it.
And so, Kallichore kept her position in the park, noting the signature seemed to be coming in her direction. Brown eyes kept watch on the rabbit that had tucked itself into the snow.

She had sensed someone, someone stronger than herself, not far off. A senshi for sure, thankfully not a negaverse officer - she didn’t want to deal with one of them. When she did arrive at the scene she paused, standing atop a rooftop and looking down on the scene. An eternal down there just standing there and not far off a little white bit of...snow moving? Maybe it wasn’t snow...was it one of those rabbits?
Jumping down from the roof top she nearly toppled over as her left ankle buckled under her, she had unluckily landed on a small patch of ice - damn it. Keeping her balance, though only just, she straightened herself up and made to pat down the layers of ruffles that made up her skirt.
“That moving snow...is that one of the infesting rabbits?” She questioned while approaching the eternal, and more importantly what might just be one of the bunnies. She was hoping to somehow get her hand son one, while avoiding being bitten.

The sudden sound of an accident on ice made Kallichore move with urgency towards the scene. She found that the super was already straightening herself out after the fall. “Are you alright?” came a tone of concern. “With those heels, you might twist an ankle.” The eternal offered her hand in assistance.
The phrase infested rabbits was quick to catch her attention. Kallichore tilted her head slightly, eyeing the super with sudden interest. “Infested, you say? That explains the strange behavior… Is the Negaverse behind this?” was the inquiry. The eternal seemed… aloof, uninformed. “I thought for certain that rabbits are generally fearful of people, so I found it strange that this one did not run when I approached it. I figured it must’ve escaped from someone’s home…” Turning her head, she noted that the infested rabbit was still in the same position, as if watching the senshi and waiting. Was it planning something?
Blinking suddenly, it dawned on the eternal that she was being inadvertently rude. “I apologize. My name is Kallichore. I don’t believe we’ve met.”

“Yeah, the heels aren’t easy to jump or land in.” The take off for the jump and the landing both were risks in the winter - she didn’t like it. She also knew she had no choice in the matter and could only hope that they would change one more time and maybe become something more practical. How did people fight in heels anyway?
The offered hand was taken, and for now held on to. “Nothing that I know of...but I don’t know anyone really. But it’s all over the news about the rabbits - just like the bats in October. The rabbits are social and will bite someone and make them cold for days. The bats came out of nowhere and attacked people...they were massive from what I heard. They drained peoples energy, leaving people unconscious on the carnival grounds.” She was sure they had to be connected, maybe even the incident with the botanical garden, but what was behind it she was clueless about.
“No, that rabbit is one of many infesting the city right now. This months has been...interesting.” She said slowly, hesitating. There was a lot which had been happening this month and she hoped it didn’t get worse, she wasn’t even sure it could. Ice and snow freezing people in and out of places, attack rabbits, and the botanical garden...yeah she was fairly certain this month couldn’t get much worse.
“Oh! Nephthys, senshi of vampires. And no, we haven’t met before...I’d remember if we had.” Seeing as she only knew a handful of others and nothing more than a passing thing with any of them.

“Many rabbits infesting the city, you say? And bats? Please, if you would, tell me more.” Kallichore was genuinely interested, being so out-of-touch with the recent goings-on in Destiny City. It was a blessing, she thought, to find someone able to assist in keeping her knowledge updated. The eternal kept a steady grip on Nephthys while traveling over ice. Regardless of how regal one might look in a senshi outfit, any fighting done on slick ground would be problematic at best.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Nephthys. Your sphere certainly explains your lovely outfit.” The cosmic tailor’s handiwork again. Kallichore smiled to herself.
Carefully guiding the super over the ice, the two senshi found themselves in the more stable (if deeper) powdery snow where the rabbit lay in wait. It seemed to watch them very closely with an intelligence unusual for a rabbit. “They bite and run, Nephthys? And make the recipient cold… I wonder if this is an illness of a magical nature they are spreading…” Would it be worthwhile to try and catch one for study? What could they even contain such a creature in? Was it magical in nature? Hmm...
Kallichore tapped her chin with a free hand. “Had I known these little things were so troublesome, I would have brought a net.” The eternal chuckled softly, so as not to ruin the perfectly lovely stillness of the season (and possibly scare off their intended research target).

“Well, the carnival in October had bats attacking people...but from video and reports it seemed - too smart. Smaller ones moved in first and then moved out of the way for bigger ones. They all seemed too big to be normal. The reports say that nearby construction disturbed an unknown bat colony and they woke and went for the carnival. It seems off, how they attacked, that no one surveyed the site first and found the colony. Not to mention that no one has reported bats, much less big ones, in the night sky before that night.” It all seemed too far off to be normal, she wasn’t buying it at all. “You could find the reports online I’m sure.” It had taken her some time to put the pieces together, as she hadn’t been there, but she had put them together and didn’t like the picture.
She was a new senshi, without much training, and while she was uncomfortable pinning the blame right on the Negaverse...she gathered it was something which could be expected from them. But there was no way she could confirm or deny that.
“The news says that people report several days of being cold - that nothing gets rid of it. It just goes away then.” She said while shifting her weight. Glad for the snow about her feet, even if it was terribly cold, it was better than the ice she had been standing on. The snow was safer, at least to a degree. Shifting she turned to face the other fully. “People have tried and either been bitten or they run off. I don’t think anyone has caught one of the bunnies.” Plenty of people had been bitten though. There had been warnings even - to leave them be.
“That’s not all though. There have been bouts of snow and ice that in a short amount of time has frozen doors, cars, and trapped people. It’s unusually fast and hard to break out of. But there were the attacking plants also - at the botanical garden. They were hosting some event, it was all over the news, some new species of poinsettia - you know the red holiday flowers. They made a new species of it. All I know is they started attacking people and I guess draining energy - I don’t know about the energy...I wasn't there for it..I’m not much for plants. This year can’t get worse - right?” She asked finally, staring at the other senshi.
“It seems everything is unsafe and a danger.” Even the snow! Which was all around. Whatever was doing this she wondered if it wa all connected. Plants, animals, and weather...what could handle all three things and why?

Kallichore listened intently, mentally cataloging Nephthys’ finer points. She was silent for a while, the super explaining a timeline that the eternal was wholly unfamiliar with. When Nephthys had finished and was successfully on more stable ground, Kallichore let go of a breath. “It certainly seems that way, doesn’t it?” admitted the eternal. The snow crunching beneath their boots filled the silence for a few moments. “I wonder then, if it’s a safer idea to leave the rabbit alone. At least until its origin is discovered. Who knows, maybe the Negaverse has nothing at all to do with this.”
Indeed, this would not have been the first incident that appeared Negaverse-related, only to turn out to be something else entirely. The world was a strange place. Has it always been?
“The year certainly could get worse, naturally.” Kallichore’s eyebrows furrowed for a moment, as if intently examining the snow at her boots. The wind rustled both senshi’s skirts then and absentmindedly, the eternal patted hers down. “...but, perhaps my absence has given me a different perspective. Nephthys, if you don’t mind my asking, how long have you been a senshi?” The question seemed unrelated, but since the senshi of vampires was kind enough to dispense valuable information, the senshi of madness would do the same. “I’ve been a senshi for oh… about six years, give or take. Please don’t take this as patronizing…”
Kallichore had been known to be more than a little socially inept. “...but things certainly seem bad right now, I understand. Perhaps they even feel overwhelming at times, and you may feel powerless. However, there is something to be said for the fact that you are now a Super Senshi, Nephthys. Such an achievement speaks volumes to your dedication to the cause. Destiny City is just a little bit safer for your diligence.”
The rabbit hiding in the snow seemed to pivot slightly, its tiny nose twitching, sniffing the crisp winter air.

“That might be the best option.” Referring to leaving the rabbit alone. As much as she wanted to watch and observe them she knew not to get close. She didn’t like the cold and the idea of feeling cold, and not being able to warm up, for days was not on her list of things to do. She was out to patrol; not get bitten.
“It could? I mean it seems pretty bad already and it’s almost New Years.” So what else could happen. A lot had already happened so what more could be stuffed into the month? It seemed impossible really...but this was magic they were dealing with so perhaps the eternal was right and more could happen, something worse. Though maybe they’d find out what was behind the bats and bunnies, maybe the other things as well.
“Over two years...it was in the summer when I met Ash and powered up the first time. I haven’t been that active though.” She added slowly. She felt bad about it, she honestly did, but she just didn’t have anything to do. Her magic only helped her if she could fight, was looking to run, or had someone with her and she couldn’t fight. She also knew no one involved in this war, a shame really.
“Oh! No, I don’t. But that means you would know how bad things can get.” Which explained the comment from her before. If that was true...she really hoped the other was wrong about what remained of this year - she really did.
Shaking her head she fiddled with the frill about her hands and looked up at the other. “I doubt it. I haven’t done a whole lot. At least it doesn’t feel like it...I don’t know anyone really either...and this is the most I’ve dealt with or seen. I don’t think a lot has actually happened...though I did hear whispers, in passing, of people going down into the Negaverse’s home and fighting them there. I don’t know anything about it really.” She had not been involved in that, she had been busy with other things.
“My magic isn’t very useful anyway and I can’t fight. So I don’t think I’ve been that much of a help.” She added. She really didn’t think she’d done a lot, despite the uniform and power upgrade. Her magic was, after trying it out, the same as before...just a few more bats.

She was bad at sarcasm too.
Kallichore perked up when Nephthys mentioned a direct assault on the Negaverse. It was unfortunate that her junior didn’t have much information on it, but knowing that the event took place was an excellent starting point for gathering intel. “Try not to worry yourself too much, Nephthys. Too much worry leads to trouble.” And she would know, personally-speaking.
The concern about one’s magic not being very useful… The eternal know all about that. The senshi in red chuckled then, not laughing at Nephthys’ shame, but laughing at the familiarity. “Nephthys, how are you with hand-to-hand combat? That is how I have to defend myself as well. My magic is one-time use, thirty seconds at most. After that…” Kallichore made a slow shrugging gesture. “One must learn other tactics if one is to be successful.”
She ignored the rabbit then. Onto more important matters. “If you’re interested, I’d be happy to teach you what I know. My moon is more… hospitable, than Destiny City is right now. With all this snow, we’d have to train indoors…”

“I can’t fight at all either. I’ve never had to. My magic helps in escaping but that’s about it.” Listening to the other, hearing about the others magic, she smiled. “Mine is bats that drain energy..so a distraction and sometimes, if they bite, they help a bit more.” But they didn’t cause pain or stop someone from attacking her in some way. They slowed them due to the flapping bats and the slight tap on a person's energy - that was it. It fit her sphere though, that much was for sure.
“I’ve thought about learning how to fight, somehow, but I don’t even know where to begin and I’d think most places don’t teach what someone would need in a fight like we deal with…” They wouldn’t teach to do serious damage...or even kill, not that she really wanted to think about or consider that. That she wanted to keep far from her mind if at all possible.
“That would be perfect, if you don’t mind. My own world...I’ve only been to once so yours would be good.” Since here, as she said, would be an issue due to all the snow here. “We can arrange that soon.” They could share contact information here, and now, and from there meet up soon for this training - she liked the idea.
