Lazarus sat in his chair of his new apartment as he had a pair of headphones in, strumming on his guitar as he sang. Occasionally he would stop the music playing in his ears and write some lyrics or musical notes down, then rewind the tape and repeating the process to figure out what he wanted for the song he was making. He had been doing this sort of thing for the past few days, having not left his apartment once since he began to try and write his new song. He sadly hadn't gone to see Odessa for the past few days, but he made sure to call her throughout the day to give her updates on how he was doing and to see how she was. Lazarus deeply loved her, but he had no idea what was about to happen today.

Odessa hadn't seen or heard from Lazarus in a few days. She was beginning to worry about him. It really wasn't all that uncommon for him to lock himself away for a day or two while working on his music, but this had been a little bit longer than she was used to. She couldn't help but wonder if he was even eating right, so early that day she had gone to the grocery store with an intent to stop by his place and cook him a good dinner. She knew how he could get when he was working himself to death, and doing so on an empty stomach wasn't the best strategy when he was trying to come up with a great song, or at least that's how she felt...
So she finally arrived at his apartment, bags in hand. She shuffled them around as best she could, and gently knocked on the door. She could hear music coming from inside and she smiled just a little at herself. He could definitely be a workaholic when he put his mind to it. She wasn't sure if he could even hear her through all of it, so she tried to knock a little harder just in case, but she had always had a problem doing anything forcibly. So she just stood and waited, if it took too long she would just come in herself so she didn't bother him.

Lazarus didn't hear a single knock at the moment, currently having his headphones in while playing his guitar and singing. This song was supposed to be for Odessa, and he kind of wanted it to be a surprise. That was why he was spending so much more time on it, because he truly wanted it to be special. However, he was kind of needing inspiration for the song, so seeing Odessa would probably be a good thing. Maybe he could message her, or she would show up soon? He had given her a key so she could show up at anytime. In fact he was kind of surprised she hadn't used it yet. It wasn't like he hadn't given her permission to just enter whenever she felt like it. Then again it was Odessa, and she always liked to be polite. Oh she was such a sweetie, which was one of the many reason he had come to fallen in love with her.

She stood there for close to a minute, maybe two, before she realized he hadn't heard her. She frowned a little and put some of the bags down, fiddling with her keys. She knew he had told her she could use them whenever she wanted, but she still felt like she was violating a piece of his private space by doing so.
She drew in a breath and put the key in, turning it until the latch unlocked. She gently opened the door, her head poking in. "Lazarus?" She smiled when she finally spotted him. She gave a slight wave, feeling sheepish. When she noticed he didn't see her, she pulled the groceries in, laying them on the ground before pulling off her shoes and approaching him. She gently kissed his cheek and threw her arms around him after pulling on his headset so he could hear her. "I hope this is a good surprise?"

"Wha- Oh Odessa!" He pulled his headphones off, turning the music off. Despite looking surprised, it was clear he was beyond happy to see her. He had been listening to music from Swan Lake, their special thing. After all, she was his Odette. As he looked up at her, he wondered how much she had listened to. it was supposed to be a secret for her after all ", Ahh... how much of that did you hear?"A smile formed on his lips after he asked, reaching a hand up to stroke her cheek ", I was actually thinking of messaging you to see if you wanted to come over or if I should come to see you. How have you been my dear Odette?" As she was hopefully distracted, he hide his current work on the song behind his back, hoping she didn't see that.

She couldn't help but smile and lean into his touch. She murmured softly, almost purring. Her eyes flicked open after a moment or two. "Not a lot really. Though what little bit I did hear seemed to be coming along well." She pointed toward the bags laying on the floor. "I figured you were hungry since you usually work so late into the night." She replied as if trying to explain why she had appeared out of the blue. When he said he was thinking about messaging her, she blushed slightly. "I'm okay. I've missed you, though. How have you been?"
With a light peck on his cheek, she went to the bags and picked them up, setting them on the kitchen table. She began to pull a few items out. "I was thinking homemade ravioli. Some cheese and some meat. If you're okay with that?" She gave a bright smile and walked toward the sink, beginning to wash some of the vegetables and set them out so she could eventually cut them.

"Ravioli? Hmmm," he got up and went over to his collection of guitars that were set up along the wall (But not on it just yet), putting this one back in it's place. He had managed to hide the journal behind it, pretty sure Odessa hadn't seen it at all. With that all done, he went back over to her. Once behind her, his arms wrapped around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder some ", As long as I get to help you make it, then I am fine with pretty much anything," a quick peck was placed on her cheek, unable to keep his eyes off her for the moment. How had he managed to get a fiancee as beautiful as Odessa. She truly was his swan.

She made a face at him, though it was accompanied by a smile. She had wanted to do dinner for him so he could continue working on whatever it was he was doing. While music was his forte, cooking was hers. However, she really couldn't argue too much, she did love having his company. Turning, she gave him a kiss, "It's going to take a little while since I have to make the dough and sauce. Do you mind getting a pot of water on the stove?" She asked as she pulled out about a dozen tomatoes. This was a recipe that her mother had had before she fell ill. It was always her favorite when she was growing up and she hoped that someday she could pass it down to their children.
She paused for a moment at that thought. Was she really already thinking about kids? She felt a pang in the pit of her stomach, did Lazarus even want kids? She remembered him saying something along those lines when he asked her to marry him, but that didn't necessarily mean that he was ready any time soon for them. Was she? She chewed her lip a little and took a look in his direction. "I.... I know this is a little out of the blue... But umm... do you want children?" She pulled a few tomatoes up, making sure there weren't any blemishes on them.

He had just put the water she had requested on the stove to boil, stopping what he was doing to just stand there is shock for a moment. Did she wanted children already? ", My swan... wants cygnets already?" Well, he hadn't expected that one to happen already. He was thinking she would ask once they were married, but before they even discussed the wedding at all? He hadn't been expecting that one. Then again, he wasn't against trying to imbue a stone or two together this early. Actually, he was writing about his dreams of being with Odessa and what he hoped they would be together in their song, and there was a whole verse dedicated to his wish of having a family with her. Maybe now could be the start of that? ", I do want children. Being a parent along side you is one of my greatest desires. Do you... wish for me to send a request for us to have some soulstones?"

Odessa tilted her head slightly, a questioning action. She shook her head fervently, a light flutter in her stomach. "Oh, no... I don't mean right now right now... Well... I don't think so. I mean... I haven't given it a lot of thought." She was stammering. Did she want kids right now? Of course, there was both his and her own career to think about, but she had always wanted to have children someday, but the two of them weren't even living together yet. She knew there were other people who could pull that off flawlessly, but was she one of them? However, the more she thought about it, maybe she did. It was always something that was in the back of her mind, and it wasn't exactly like having children before you were married was taboo, a lot of people did it and were great parents. Her mother was one of them.
She set the tomato down that she was examining, her eyes on the table for a moment before she glanced at him. "Actually... I think I do. Maybe not right this instance, I would at least like us to be living together first so that the kids are raised together, but I would like kids, the sooner the better." She tilted her head, looking at him with a smile. She hoped he would be as happy about it as she would be, but she couldn't help but hope that he wouldn't run away after hearing news like that.

Lazarus just stood there for a moment, still shocked at the idea of children. He honestly would of liked to wait until marriage, but the idea of being a father excited him. His own little baby swans, his own special groupie that he would always love to please while during his career as a musician. He wanted to have children too, but was right now the time. Finally he came to a decision, walking over to her and taking a hold of her hand. His thumb caressed her palm softly, looking her in the eyes and giving Odessa a gentle smile. If they were going to do this, he was going to be fully committed to it ", Well, will we be moving into my place, your place, or getting a new place for the family?"

At the question, she frowned a bit. "My apartment is even smaller than yours." She stated, worry clear in her voice. "And I'm not sure we can currently afford a bigger place, at least not until my hours pick up at the restaurant. We've been getting busier, so that might happen soon. Maybe we could live here and try to save up a little? I know it'll be cramped... but..." She still wasn't sure about it, it would be seriously hard with such a little place, but they'd have to make due. Life wasn't always easy and it came with hard decisions.

"We can make my place work until we both save up enough for a new apartment, one with possibly three spare rooms?" He proposed, pecking her cheek in an attempt to assure her they would be alright ", One for us, one for the band, and one for the kids. A living room... or more like a play room for them would be nice, and obviously a kitchen and bathroom, one with an actual bathtub and not just a shower," His shower had a sort of wall so you could use it as a tub, but it definitely was not an adult sized bath tub. It would work for freshlings though. "I am sure we will be able to afford such a place soon enough. The band has been gaining a bit more popularity ever since our performance at the local band festival, and some of the local music stores and book stores have even agreed to sell our first album. In other words, yeah I think we can go for trying to imbue a stone or two together," a hand reached out to caress her cheek ", We will be alright Odessa. We both want to do this, and if we can make it work then I don't see why not.

She drew in a shaky breath, still worried about everything, but when he sounded so confident about everything she couldn't help but let her worry slide away. He was right, they'd make it work, her mother definitely had when they had even less to work with. "Okay..." She said gently, trying to work more fervor in her voice, though the worry was still hard to break through. She put her hand to his, smiling softly. A flutter ran through her stomach, was she really going to be a mother? "I know we'll make great parents. I can't wait to see them!" With her worry finally subsiding, she knew she was right. They'd be the best parents there ever was, and she knew her mother would be smiling down on them.
