Rich people were a riot. Some sort of charity event was going on right now, which meant a whole bunch of the assholes were showing up to drink and snipe at each other with back-handed compliments and sugary sweet insults. He'd teleported himself in, and when people had reacted with shock, he simply swept his cape with flourish and announced he was part of the entertainment. And they'd bought it, simpering and tittering to themselves behind wine glasses.

In truth, he was half hoping an Order member would come charging to fend him off, but that didn't seem to be likely. Pity.

As it was, he swept through the crowd, sampling shitty little fancy appetizers and snatching a wine glass to was them down with. As he passed by elegantly dressed women and men in their fancy suits, he siphoned energy as he brushed shoulders, humming at how easy it all was.

If this didn't get more interesting somehow, he might just be tempted to make it a bloodbath.

The wine was excellent.

All it had taken Seth was a careless smile and a few extra bills slipped into the doorman's hand for him to be admitted into the gala for the evening. He hadn't even bothered mingling with anyone; he wasn't there for that, but for the simple and easy pleasure of good food and perhaps a bit of entertainment, if he could wrangle it.

As it was, it seemed he was going to get that.

He was still knew to the whole powered thing, but Seth knew teleportation when he saw it, considering how he'd seen the others doing exactly that, and had been the unfortunate victim of it when being recruited in the first place. The swaggering, sharply attractive redheaded man was unfamiliar, but undeniably interesting; Seth found his eyes following him, a slow smile drawing its way across his face.

He could possibly be mistaken. The man could be an entertainer, as he'd said, but there was at least a way of finding this out. A reckless way, but Seth had already weighed the pros and cons by the time he had made his decision, setting his wine glass on the nearest tray as it passed him by.

It only took him a few seconds to find a darkened hall away from prying eyes. The hair was longer than necessary, Gadolinite had already determined, but he liked it anyway as he went back into the hall a different way than he had left it, leaning casually against the nearest wall, arms folded across his chest and ignoring any curious glances he might have gotten.

Like this, he could feel the power signature radiating across the ballroom at him, brutally powerful and unfamiliar. Seth tilted his head back, a casual smile on his face, and waited.

Obsidian was in the middle of chatting to a group of young women who were remarkably interested in this young, gallant ruffian striding about in such attire during the event. It was so easy to drain their energy as he spoke, his eyes half-lidded as they roamed over each pretty face.

That was when the aura bloomed without warning, and he stopped mid-sentence. The women were confused, but he'd forgotten them already, sampling the energy with relish. Corrupted, certainly.. and senshi. There was no mistaking that burst of power, like a flare, likely to attract the attention of anyone and everyone in the vicinity. Risky? Absolutely.... and if it was intentional, they were either stupid, or confident in their abilities.

Obsidian swept through the crowds without another word, leaving the offended women behind as he abandoned them for this much more promising pursuit. It didn't take him long to find the source, and the general paused to take his time in... evaluating the tall, lean corrupted who appeared perfectly at ease with his surroundings.

"Well, aren't we a sight for sore eyes." He rumbled, settling close by, his bright eyes never leaving the newcomer. Yes, color him intrigued. "And here I thought the Negaverse had given up on recruiting anything but kids who don't even know how to wipe their own a**."

He liked corrupteds. Always had. Maybe it was due to the fact that he'd changed one, back when he was just a lieutenant, the power of General-King Charonite pulsing through him to twist Sailor Nova into something more than just a mere Order senshi.

"I was wondering when they were going to bring out the main course. These appetizers aren't doing s**t."

He could have made the first move, but there was no fun in that; especially when the signature radiating back at him was far more powerful than Gadolinite's own. He knew the rules of this game; he could have broken them, but it was better to draw interest than to try and garner it from an uninterested party.

But the man was interested. General? He wasn't a senshi, that was for sure, not with that uniform that, now that he was coming towards him, Gadolinite could see more clearly. The strength of the aura only increased the closer in proximity the man got, and as he sidled up right in front of him, flared like a fire of Chaos through Gadolinite's senses.

The smile on his face widened, lips slowly curving upwards. "You apparently thought wrong, then," he said mildly.

He let his gaze flicker deliberately up and down the man's form, taking his time before it settled once more on the strong face. Gadolinite felt the surge of exhilaration that came from a mixture of curiosity and interest, his expression lazily amused.

"Is that vhy you've come out here tonight?" he asked lightly, but there was a purr of entertainment behind each word. "Looking for something better to eat? Mini quiches not to your liking?"

"Apparently," It was a hum, like he wasn't quite convinced of the fact, but was willing to be persuaded. He felt a grin tugging at his lips as the man returned his idle scrutiny and apparently felt satisfied with what he saw. Well, of course he was.

Obsidian laughed at the question, a low sound meant for the other's ears only.

"You could say that. My tastes are a bit more unique than most." And to think he'd weaned off the worst of it. Ah, but it was easy to focus on that accent though, prominent without making his words unintelligible. A hand lifted, absently toying with a strand of dark, sleek hair, admiring the silky feel beneath his calloused fingers.

"But, I think I've found something I like." Obsidian pulled his hand away, clicking his teeth together in a lazy, mirthful grin. "Let's go outside, shall we? I've been dying for a goddamn smoke."

Replacing one addiction with another was hardly wise, but at least this one wasn't going to turn him into a mindless beast.

The laughter that reached him was low, intimate; it made the interest rise, made Gadolinite slant his head to hear it just a little better, a wicked grin spreading across his face that had nothing to do with the excellent vintage wine he'd tasted not five minutes ago.

He made no move to pull away from the hand that touched his hair, Gadolinite remaining as relaxed as ever, simply admiring the view in front of him while he could. "I'm sure one could find something you vould like," he said airily, and then arched a brow at the mention of going outside.

"You and me both, apparently," he said, and pivoted on a foot to slide out the door of the ballroom and into the adjoining hall, long hair rippling behind him. Outside, it was cold, a chill breeze rifling through the air; but as Seth he'd been to Russia multiple times, had lived there as a child, and this was nothing in comparison.

Gadolinite stopped once they were away from the building enough to be at least in relative privacy, turning back to face the man with his lazy, intriguing grin.

"Better?"

No snarky quip about how cigarettes would kill him? No lectures about the state of his lungs? The general practically purred as he followed the corrupt senshi, not at all minding the cold. With all those people inside, it had been a little too stuffy in his uniform, anyway.

"Much," He dug into his pocket, idly drawing out a pack of cigarettes to snag one between his lips. He then tucked it away while he pulled out a lighter with his free hand. A simple flick of his thumb flipped the lid off, then struck a flame. A deep drag was taken, feeling the smoke swirl through his lungs before he exhaled slowly with pleasure. It was no starseed, but it took the edge off.

"So," He said, watching the smoke drift upward towards the night sky. "Haven't seen you before. Which isn't a surprise. But still, introductions are important."

His gaze slid to the man, roaming up and down for a moment before Obsidian took another hit. "Obsidian," He offered with a smokey sigh, then offered the still-lit cigarette to him.

It was easier outside; there were less stares, not that Gadolinite had ever minded those before. Less annoyances in the form of people constantly butting into conversations not meant for them. Less of waiters trying to push small trays of some ridiculous food in front of you.

Outside, it was simply the two of them. So much better for Gadolinite to look his fill, his gaze flickering across the man's face as he slid a cigarette between his lips, the click of the lighter a familiar sound in Gadolinite's ears. He arched a brow, the scent of smoke curling around them, and stood unmoving under the man's long, deliberate gaze, a smile curving his own lips up.

"Like vhat you see?" Gadolinite asked airily, and then reached for the offered cigarette, letting his fingers brush lightly against the man's - Obsidian's - before he put it between his lips. He inhaled a long breath, eyes fluttering with satisfaction, and then turned his face slightly sideways, exhaling a breath that sent smoke ghosting outwards.

The cigarette was held back to Obsidian.

"Gadolinite," he said, voice low. "I am new, as you might haff guessed. And I am sure my power signature gave it away. Yours is very...strong."

This was said with a deliberate smirk, curiosity sparking in Gadolinite's eyes.

"If I didn't, I wouldn't be here." His tongue traced his lips briefly, thinking that the other man looked a hell of a lot more appetizing than those shitty little bites they'd been passing around earlier. He hadn't missed the way those fingers ghosted against his gloved ones--all positive signs. He observed the way the man inhaled, his chest expanding ever so slightly while unmistakable traces of pleasure altered his expression. Obsidian considered to study him, noting everything he could.

He accepted the cigarette back, allowing his own fingers to press against the inside of the corrupted's wrist as though to feel for his pulse, dragging their way back until they curled around the offering.

"Gadolinite," He mused, like he was tasting the word. "Well. Strength does come with time and experience." His grin was lazy and shark-like even as he put the cigarette to his lips, breathing in. "Let me be frank," He said, smoke slipping past his lips as he spoke. "I'm interested in seeing your skills. Personally."

He passed the cigarette to his companion, his eyes bright with mirth.

Gadolinite's gaze had dropped instinctively to Obsidian's mouth, watching the movement of his tongue, a flicker of heat curling its way through his body. The man was built well, that was for damn certain - and he knew it, the strength and confidence exuded only adding to Gadolinite's interest, rather than taking away from it.

Obsidian's fingers were tracing lightly along the inside of his wrist as the cigarette was pulled back; Gadolinite felt it jump slightly in answer, the slow, lazy way of speaking the general had sending frissons of friction up and down Gadolinite's spine.

He could smell the smoke, intoxicating and hazy, curling upwards into the chill air. Gadolinite's grin was spreading across his face, because he could imagine only too well what sort of experience this man had.

"Are you, now?" Gadolinite said, head tilted slightly so that a few stray locks of hair fell across his face. He reached out and took the offered cigarette, but his other hand rose, daring to curl around the back of Obsidian's neck as Gadolinite stepped forward, crowding into the other's space. He let his fingers trail down slowly, then back up again, Gadolinite's face mere inches away, his eyes fixed on Obsidian's, lips slightly parted.

"I vould like that very much," he murmured, and without waiting any longer, closed the distance between them, catching Obsidian's mouth with his own.

It was not a hesitant kiss, but it was not a desperate one, either, Gadolinite's lips parting, his mouth hungry. Obsidian had said he wanted to see his skills, after all, and what better way than to demonstrate them?

Bold, he thought with approval as those pale fingers slipped against his skin, and the corrupted senshi stepped closer. He appreciated that Gadolinite was around his height, able to easily look him in the eye. The smell of cigarette smoke was heavy in the air, but there was a heady aroma of something more underneath. It wrapped around his sense of smell, tantalized it with smooth, subtle notes of finely worked leather and heady woody after tones. Some sort of expensive a** cologne, no doubt. He breathed more deeply, instinctively craving more. The tall, slender man leaned in, and a growl rumbled low in Obsidian's throat just before the kiss.

He was not shy about returning the attention, an arm snaking possessively around Gadolinite's waist so a hand could press at the small of his back. He deepened the kiss, teeth grazing at soft lips as though to bite. It had been a long time, he reflected idly. But not long enough that he felt too terribly out of practice.

Having a fine vintage to sample never hurt anything, either.

Obsidian hadn't said anything, but that was never a sign of disapproval in Gadolinite's book. It just meant that he was occupying the general's thoughts with something that didn't require words, and Gadolinite was more than willing to continue doing so.

He heard the deep inhalation, the low growl, and Gadolinite swallowed the sound, hand sliding up the nape of Obsidian's neck to tangle in the red hair, fingers curling, not tight enough to pull (yet) but enough that it was a strong grip not intended to let go anytime soon.

Obsidian's arm around his waist made the hunger grow, Gadolinite yielding to it, body pressed to body until there was no space left between them. The graze of teeth had him shivering pleasantly; Gadolinite's lips curved up into a smile against the other's, and he deliberately slanted his mouth more securely over Obsidian's, hungry and unhesitating in that hunger, the heat rising.

He pulled away after a few long moments, and his own teeth nipped at Obsidian's lower lip before Gadolinite drew back just far enough to see the other man's face; he didn't try to move away, but instead simply inhaled deeply like Obsidian had, letting the taste of him fill his senses.

"Vell?" He said, voice low and thick, almost a purr, Gadolinite's eyes bright in the dark, grin flashing white. "An assessment of skills is always appreciated."

A sigh ghosted from him as Gadolinite pulled away, but he allowed it, his tongue idly tracing his lips as though to savor the last, tiny sting that the senshi had left behind. Compared to the other's grin, there was no expression on his face--almost like he was bored. To be honest, he wanted to see this smug, delicious son of a b***h sweat a little. After a moment though, there was no suppressing his lazy, pleased sort of grin.

Obsidian leaned in to murmur against his ear instead, deciding that his own selfish desires far outweighed any temporary amusement he might have gotten by ruffling the corrupted's feathers. "I think I'm going to need a few more samples until I can really decide."

Pale fingers wrapped around the other man's wrist, idly tugging as Obsidian intended to lead his prize back to his apartment.

Gadolinite was grinning, dark eyed and dark intent, his gaze flickering across the man's lean face. He regretted somewhat having to pull back, but all in due course; especially considering the way that Obsidian was eyeing him now, almost assessing, even bored, perhaps. Gadolinite's eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

But the smirk came back a moment later, lithe and relaxed, and Gadolinite felt the pleasure coiling through his veins. The whisper to his ear made a shiver trace its way up and down his spine, and long lashed eyes lowered until they were half-lidded, Gadolinite's breath shifting a little.

"Sounds like something I can help with," he murmured, and then he was being tugged away - something he didn't fight at all.
