It was a pretty quiet, average day. The kids had all gotten home from school and were playing around outside. Morginn was sitting on the couch in the living room, mending one of Florence's shirts. His son was in and out of trees so often that Morginn was surprised any of Florence's clothes lasted the month out. Between the adults and gaggle of youngsters living here, Morginn was doing clothing repairs at least once a week. Alrai was in the living room as well, reading a book. Morginn looked up from the hem he was fixing, antennae wiggling as he regarded the other male. He seemed really focused on what he was reading. Morginn smiled. It was nice having the company, even if they were both doing their own things rather than interacting. The sound of laughter drew his attention to outside. The kids were all playing, running about and having a grand time. It felt like just yesterday that Fiore and Florence were stones, but now they were both so big and continued growing fast... He heaved a wistful sigh without realizing he'd done so.

It was a cherished book, as it was the first book that Alrai had ever bought and he often read it at least once a year. The previous quarter’s finals had been rather stressful so Alrai figured it would be a good time to read it. Only problem was he hadn’t really gotten any sleep the night before and he had read the same sentence for the last good few minutes. With a sigh he put the book to the side and looked out the window to the backyard. As he watched Arinas and Viaresu, a smile crossed over his features. He remembered that night he was deciding to go to the mixer that he would imbue Arinas in. He had been frightened about passing on his mutations. He had been frightened about being a good father, remembering his own experiences. However he had never been happier. He enjoyed every minute and there was just something about watching a tiny person that you helped bring into the world grow and become their own person. Adding Viaresu to the family had just made everything so much better. They both shared his genes but they were so radically difficult. However he was drawn out of his thoughts by a sudden sigh from Morginn. He pondered speaking up but then if Morginn really didn’t want to, he’d say something. “Penny for your thoughts?”

Morginn's antennae perked up alertly as the silence was broken. "Hmm," he hummed, turning his attention away from the window to see Alrai looking at him. He'd been so out of it he hadn't even noticed him put his book away. "Ah, I was just reminiscing," Morginn said with a slight chuckle. He glanced back out the window. "The kids just grow up so fast. I mean Fiore and Florence were just stones when I moved in, and Arinas was so small! Feels like I blinked and they suddenly just shot up!" Morginn turned his attention back to Alrai and chuckled again. "Then suddenly there were two more little ones, and they shot up as well! If I didn't know any better from helping from time to time, I'd swear you were seasoning their good with growth charms," he teased. He repositioned Florence's sweater in his lap, tugging the fabric neatly into place. The tear was almost fully repaired.

Alrai waited patiently until Morginn drew his thoughts back into the present. He was quite used to waiting until he was acknowledged as Araceae often took a while to draw herself from her thoughts. When Morginn did tell him Alrai had to smile. " I feel the same way with Arinas. Every day he is is just taller and older. Pretty soon. He'll be starting the senior classes and I just... when did all the time pass." Alrai admitted, his gaze flickering out at the backyard again. Viaresu stuck out his tongue at Arinas and then the boys were wrestling. "You at least have your genes working for you. Fallen like large households of multiple generations and their friends family in the same house and just when I think I have a big enough household my Geist genes kick in and I suddenly get empty stone syndrome or something." Alrai teased with a light tone.

Morginn grinned. "Got me there. My parents were pretty nomadic, so I was usually adopted into whatever pool of children was running around in whatever village we happened to be staying in at the time. It was like having several groups of relatives." He gave Alrai a considering look. If Morginn was being honest with himself he had a bit of a crush on the tall hybrid. It wasn't that hard to be fond of Alrai. He was kind, considerate, and had a very easy manner, educated and interesting to talk to, and just...well, cool. He kept his feelings to himself though, wanting to make sure it was more than just a crush before he said anything. Fey were pretty well known for their displays of affection and Dryads were pretty used to it, but Alrai was neither Dryad or Fey. Better to be a bit more careful so he didn't end up making a mess of things. Not that his wings didn't flutter a little during his consideration of Alrai... Stones, on the other hand, did not necessarily require something permanent. He, Alrai, and Araceae were all prime examples of that, actually. It had been a stroke of pure luck that Araceae's roommate had a large house and heart, to let a stranger move in so that they could be closer to their children. He'd felt immediately at home with all the people and children; living solitary in a dorm room had always been a little lonely. Now that the idea was in his head Morginn couldn't make it go away. He missed having small children around. Alrai missed having small children around. Morginn liked and trusted Alrai, and was plenty interested in the hybrid... "Ever think about imbuing more? I mean in the very near future," he asked, tilting his head curiously and still giving Alrai that considering look.

" and there is probably another aspect of the problem. As you know my parents are... well not normal. I had my brother Alioth later on which was a great help because but it was a bit lonely and things always felt missing." Alrai answered, he was about to say something more when he realized that Morginn was staring at him. He wasn't really phased by it. Being a mutant with the mutations he had meant that over the years of his life everyone stared. Still it wasn't the 'oh what weird mutations' stare, it was more like Morginn was trying to decide something. Alrai patiently waited for Morginn to get through what ever was going through his head, although he did raise an eyebrow when Morginn's wings fluttered. Well he did have to admit that was something new when people where staring at him. What came out of Morginn's mouth was a bit suprising but really talking about childhoods and their children the topic wasn't too far fetched. However was Morginn suggesting with him? Hmm, it wasn't as if Morginn was unpleasant. Actually that was far from the case. alrai wasn't exact the most people friendly person contrary to what his house said. Morginn was interesting and a delight to really be around. They were also helpful and caring and Alrai found them extremely creative and loved seeing what the fey did with clothes. Morginn's angry moth imitation was also really cute, not that Alrai would ever admit that out loud. However this could all be a moot point and the question was directed towards something totally different. When it came to conversations at least Alrai tried not to jump the gun. "Yes. I love being a father and chIldren. I just try not to think about it too often because I just want the next imbue to be with someone that the kids can see constantly. Arinas has never met his brother bryony or his other father and while i do have both Etna and Viaresu, how do I explain to them about their other father when they get older. How do I explain to them why Callixtus imbued but didn't think he was ready for children." Alrai replied truthfully.

Morginn sighed softly, his expression sympathetic. Since Etna and Viaresu happened after he'd moved in, he tended to feel as protective over them as if they were his own. Mielle too. He was highly fond of Arinas as well, but since the hybrid had been old enough to be close to entering junior classes, he tried not to hover in case it bothered them. "Maybe it's the Fey upbringing talking, but I think they might accept it. We give them tons of love and confidence now, so that when they're older they know it was nothing to do with them that kept their other father away." Morginn couldn't personally claim to understand the kind of attitude that would cause someone to give up their own children, but then he was the type to "adopt" anything that toddled on tiny legs. Or even slightly bigger legs. This Callixtus guy was probably just at the opposite end of the spectrum from Morginn, and he could at least understand that. Aside from that, Alrai's answer was quite encouraging. He took a big breath, and while he was outwardly calm his wiggling antennae betrayed the whirl of thoughts going through his head. "I was thinking it might be nice to imbue again too. I thought about maybe self-imbuing cause I don't wanna have to split up the family or anything, but... I don't know, it just feels more special when you imbue with other people. But, anyway, what I'm saying is.." Morginn felt himself blush just a bit. "Would you...would you like to imbue a stone. With me. Together. Or more than one," he added, feeling the blush spread a little more as his antennae flopped forward, though still looking at Alrai. "I've always been a fan of big families."

One thing that alrai often noticed was that Morginn often made him smile. Alrai would be letting stupid thoughts overwhelm him and Morginn would come by with his way of thinking and Alrai would end up smiling. It appeared that this time would be no different. Maybe he should toy s bit more with the idea of introducing the household to Alioth. Still he didn't think long on the topic of would it play out like Morginn said or something different. Arinas wasn't asking questions and he was at the age to start at least thinking about it. However now wasn't exactly the time to go down this path. He had something new to consider. "Alright." Alrai rpelied althoug the calm was a betrayed by the blush on his face. " ah no that's not now I wanted to say that. I meant... yes. Yes I would be quite happy to... and I need to stop right there better I start just blushing and rambling all over the place and.. and I am doing it anyway... but yes." Yeah that could have gone smoother.

Morginn felt a wave of relief go through him. It wouldn't be the first time he'd misread a situation, and he really didn't want to make Alrai feel uncomfortable or awkward around him. Or, well, not the un-fun kind of awkward. His answering grin was large and full of happiness. His wings fluttered and his antennae perked back up. "Great," he exclaimed! He wondered if he should add more words, but felt like he'd end up babbling again. It seemed to be happening a lot today! He picked up Florence's shirt and resumed mending it. "I'm almost done with this, and I don't have anything else planned for the day," Morginn said, glancing up at Alrai between stitches. "If you'd like, we can go out and see about acquiring stones." The blush still lingered in his cheeks, making them feel tingly. "Or if you had something you needed to do we can pick another day. My schedule is usually pretty flexible."

Morginn sure definitely had a lot of differtent expressions. It was nice change from Araceae and himself and it was kind of cute to see all the different ones. Still it was beside the point and he had to focus on what Morginn was saying verse what he was doing body expression wise. " well it's not like I don't know what happens next in my book. So today is as good as any day." Alrai pointed out thinking on what he was doing for the next few days since after all imbuing did take a bit out of you. It was pretty empty since it was a break between semesters. However he should probably warn Arinas so with a sigh he hositered himself up and walked over to the window. "Arinas we're going to go out in a little bit, since Araceae is out at the moment You'll be in charge don't burn down the house." Alrai called out ignoring the huff of indignation from his oldest son and the following statement of 'when have I ever'.
