It had been a while since Niflhel had graced Destiny city. He'd been, busy so to speak. He was minus one bride and sat up in a church tower where the bells tolled.
The Knight sighed heavily as he watched the city from his perch high upon the Gothic styled church tower. On one of her trips to Alaska, Aurora had effectively just disappeared. He'd tried every way to contact her he could, without much luck. He didn't have any of her brother's numbers and hadn't seen any of them.
Niflhel was depressed and rightly so, how he could have let her go alone? He should've been with her, what if the negaverse had found her out? Gotten her? How far was their reach beyond the city? These questions all ran through Niflhel's head, and he had gone out to search for her the best he could as a civilian without calling attention to himself.
Yet, the answers all remained the same. You're princess is another castle, and Niflhel was heart broken over it. He didn't have answers, he couldn't face her knights if he couldn't find her. He'd promised to protect her, and here he was sitting there up in the church tower after searching everywhere he could think of.
"Whoever said distance makes the heart grow fonder is full of bullshit." He finally said looking towards the stars, "Where in the Cosmos are you?" He'd been worried that she'd ran off to her star, and stayed; but as far as Snowball could scout, there wasn't any sight of the woman there either. "Did they take you? I can't do this without you. I thought you knew this."
He said softly, as he took a sleeve and ran it across his face to keep the tears that threatened his eyes from falling, "I . . . don't have anyone to lean on. You were my guiding star, I just don't understand what happened. I hope you're safe." He said as his eyes traveled to the north star that was her home.
The knight shook his head softly, "I'll find you, some how; we'll find each other again, I know. I just wish . . . you'd send me something, any sort of sign to let me know that. . . ." He stopped closing his eyes and shaking his head.
"The nightmares have started again, I think . . . it's because I miss you." He was starting to notice a pattern, the less he had to look forward to, the more depressed he was; the worse the nightmares got in his head.
The knight gave another sigh before he looked up at the moon, "Cosmos. . . Serenity . . . " he was searching the sky for Saturn even though it likely wasn't visible, "Saturn, give me the strength. Give me something to carry on with, keep her safe. It seems it's Destiny that we always end up apart; but we still find one another. Is it fate, or does the grand scheme not include us having a future together?"
The knight sighed as he leaned back against the wall of the bell tower, the bells started to strike to signal the house. "I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." He recited softly as the bell finished. The man was tired, he hadn't slept well in weeks.
He needed something to take his mind off of this. Otherwise he'd just drown himself in his sorrows and Niflhel didn't want that. He was better than that, right? He was better than that. Niflhel sighed as he sat there, "Maybe I should visit, I haven't been to my wonder in some time since I've been looking for you." He said softly, "Maybe it'll take my mind off missing you. . . . "
His eyes had become fixed on Polaris' star again. Then with a nod, he decided that's what he had to do. Surely working on fixing up his wonder would help. While he tried to figure out how to locate her.
