
It was a required class, though, so she'd just have to sit through it. She sighed and stared at the board, the end of her short tail twitching with impatience. They were going to work on a group project today about governments. They were to pick one of the governments, either of Above or Below, and make a poster about the government. Bold, creative--okay, so even if the subject matter was boring, at least the assignment sounded fun?
The room erupted in sound as everyone got to work finding a partner. Some of them stood up and walked over to their friends, while others turned to their neighbors. All of Heru's neighbors were already taken, though, and she didn't have many--or any, really--friends in this class. So who should she pick?
Someone who doesn't have a partner, either, she thought. Someone who looked shy, looked like they didn't know how to find a partner. It didn't take long for Heru to find someone like that--an Elf kid. She picked up her belongings and went over to his desk. She waved at him. "Hi!" she said. "I'm Heru--can I be your partner?"
