She'd been living in this house by herself for over a year. This coming September would make it two. Ever since then Rin hadn't really made friends. Oh, she met her quota and that's basically it. She worked during the day, gathered energy at night. With her eye how it is, her headaches worsening every week, Rin wasn't sure if she wanted friends anymore. The woman sat in her living room in panties and a tank top, eating canned ravioli from a cup while watching some TV show she found randomly about a woman who died, hit return, and came back in an overweight lawyer's body. At least she was distracted from her eye feeling like it was starting to swell again. The house was dark save for the living room, where the lights were dim and the glow of the TV illuminated her in a sickly manner like some sort of shut-in.

From his tree perch, Haumea watched the house and noted the soft glow of what could only be the television coming from the living room. For a moment, he felt a desire to simply turn around and leave again. And yet, he didn't think that Metallia would punish him for wanting to check on the girl that had been placed into his care. Particularly when he'd abandoned her to begin his quest for Metallia's approval and blessing.
He wondered if Rin still wore an eyepatch. Was she taking care of herself? A simple desire to know the answers to those questions filled him and he jumped lightly from the tree into the backyard and crept to the door. Now, provided Rin hadn't changed all of the locks, he would be able to let himself in. Reaching under a rock near the door, he smiled as he found the spare key, looking the worse for wear and used it to let himself into the house.
It took several minutes for his eyes to adjust to the darkness as he crept into the living room and stood watching Rin as she ate and watched the TV.

She felt him rather than heard him. It was a Corrupt energy so she wasn't up in arms. After a few moments of nothing happening, the Japanese woman turned and looked in the direction the energy was coming from. She couldn't see, the glare of the TV just blocking her view. "You know," she started off, sounding either off-put or just annoyed. There was a sigh to her voice and she just wasn't in a great mood right now, with her headache and all. "If they were going to send someone, I thought it'd be someone more aggressive, and not someone who's going to perv on me." She was in her underwear after all. She didn't wear the eyepatch, but she still had the same problems. Her hair had gotten longer, she was just as small and thin as before. "Who are you and why are you here?" Rin didn't even question how. There was a key outside anyone could find if they wanted. Luckily the only ones that wanted inside were the higher ups.

In spite of the calm he'd discovered in the Rift, Haumea was taken aback by her words and found himself spluttering indignantly, "I am not perving on you!"
The fact that she'd been in her underwear had never registered in Haumea's mind. In fact, chances were good that she could have been naked and he wouldn't have noticed that either... well, okay. That he might have noticed, but only in order to get a coat on her.
"You know very well who I am, Rin and I wanted to check on you."

She did, indeed, know who it was now that he spoke. He was supposed to be gone. Mismatched eyes watched her former friend step closer to her and Rin's arms crossed under her breast, just resting on her belly. There wasn't a look of anger upon her face. No, it was twisted to confusion and disbelief. "....Oh, well.." She had to gather her thoughts. Come on head, stop spinning and throbbing.... "I didn't know... if I'd ever see you again." Nothing much had changed about the house. It was basically the way he left it, but with more touches of Rin around. A forgotten glass there, books near the couch, dishes in the sink. There were blankets and pillows around he wouldn't recognize. "...Are... you back?"

Haumea's own face was a mask of serenity as he simply stood and watched Rin. Privately, he thought it was pleasant to see that she'd begun to put her own touches on the house. And, when he thought about it, it was perfectly reasonable of her to wonder if they'd ever see each other again. He'd ventured into the Rift, after all. And the Rift did not suffer senshi intrusion lightly.
"I had good guides within the Rift," he said softly. Then blinked at her question. Ah, now that was something he would have to consider carefully. He'd all but signed Kekipi's death warrant as far as resuming a civilian life.
"For a time, I suppose," he said. "My work isn't done, though clues have been found. My continued presence within the Rift is not required at the moment."
He paused and took another, close look at her. Shouldn't she look... healthier?
"Are you caring for yourself properly, Rin," he asked gently. "Is your eye healing? Tell me how you've been faring."

"I left your room the same." She dodged the question if only for a fraction longer. Was she caring for herself? That depended on who's standards they were using. She scratched at her chin and then fidgeted a bit more. "..I.." Hesitation. "...It's healed. I'm suffering bad migraines." It was the first time she's admitted it to anyone else. Of course it would be Haumea. "I can usually sleep them off. It's nothing unusual with... eye transplants, apparently. I got a job at the Romano school?" She didn't have friends still, she wasn't social, but she met her requirements and kept her head down. The fear of being in any General King or Quen's line of sight was what kept her powering up, honestly. She ran on auto pilot these days. "I'm okay."

Frowning slightly, Haumea moved closer until he could loom over her and stare down into her transplanted eye. He hadn't missed the hesitations and knew that Rin... was not always the most forthcoming of people. Not that this was a bad thing, but where her eye was concerned, it was worrying.
"But you did not receive a traditional eye transplant, little Rin. It does neither you, nor the Dark Kingdom any good if you're suffering from migraines like that. Have you spoken to any of the Generals about this? Surely they would have some insight?"
Crouching down until they could nearly see eye to eye, Haumea very much doubted she was 'okay'. And then, he was distracted by a tidbit of information.
"What is the Romano School? And what do you do there?"

" No," she stated firmly. "I have not, and will not take this to them. I do my duty. I fill the quota. It's not so bad I can't do that... And this is the first time a senshi's taken a youma part into herself. No one could help anyway." Rin felt so small when he had to crouch to see eye-to-eye with her. Her hands clenched into fists at her side. Loose. And then he became distracted and Rin blinked at the questions he asked. "...It's... a school run by the Negaverse. I work as a record keeper, out of the way."
