It was nice to spend a quiet night in the Park patrolling. No crazy people trying to attack her, for one thing. Yet, at the same time, Bestla was bored. Arsinoe had been right about trashcans not being much good to practice against. She needed a battle buddy.
She didn't want to inflict another sparring match on Kari though and she had no idea how to even contact Paris. With a small sigh, she was considering simply going home and catching up on sleep or Pokemon. Or rather, that had been the plan until she felt an aura similar to what she imagined her own to be.
Moving quickly, she ran through the Park, determined to meet the aura's owner. And maybe see if they wanted to fight.

Caia was in the park, appreciating the reasonable chill of Earth Winters; he was clutching his phone in his hand and pacing, trying to debate on if he wanted to try and get to his homeworld again.
...The fact was, he didn't. It was too cold and he wasn't prepared, but the more he saw snow, the more he found his mind drifting to the homeworld he felt like he was abandoning.
He had been oblivious to the energy signature approaching for a while--until it pinged strongly and he realized that it was moving--fast. Towards him.
Which could mean any number of things, but the first thing he thought was that someone might be in trouble--maybe they were running from something?
...And that was just a scary thought; he pocketed his phone quickly and hesitantly moved a little closer towards where the energy signature was coming from. After a few more seconds of deliberation, he chanced, "Hello?"

Taking a moment to get her bearings, Bestla quickly found the other senshi and grinned. Even at night, they stood out rather brilliantly agaisnt the snow. Pausing in her dash, she waved cheerfully in response to the hello and walked a bit more sedately over.
"Hi there! Did I scare you? I'm sorry! I just wanted to meet you and i was bored and wanted someone to go up against me tonight."
Yes, good. Scare the other senshi even more by looking like a raving loony. Good job, Bestla. A+.

"Oh," Caia said, blinking. He was surprised and couldn't help but look behind her, as if just checking to make sure she wasn't being chased. The coast seemed clear, so he glanced back at her and offered a hesitant smile.
"No, I wasn't scared," he insisted, laughing for good measure. "Just surprised! It's, ah, it's nice to meet you!"
He jutted his hand out in greeting. "I'm Caia. But--'go against'? Go against you...where?" he asked, uncertain smile still plastered across his face.

Taking the offered hand and giving it a friendly squeeze, she grinned and offered her own name, "Bestla. It's a pleasure to met you, Caia. And I'm glad I didn't scare ya."
Noting the uncertain smile, her grin toned down into something a bit less manic and she gestured to herself.
"Sorry, I tend to use slang a bit. I'm bored of training by myself and was hoping to find someone who'd be willing to spar a bit with me. I promise that I know how to pull my punches so you wouldn't get hurt bad. I'm just tired of practicing alone and fighting trees and trashcans."

"Slang --Oh--no, that's fine!" Caia insisted, smile relaxing. He gave her hand a good shake and then lowered it back to his side. "Actually--yes, I could do some sparring! But, when you said I won't get hurt bad..."
His voice trailed off for a second and he cleared his throat. "...I know that some scuffs and scrapes are sort of to be expected, but I don't want anything so bad that someone else can see! I mean, I don't live alone and my brother's a little overprotective. But! If that's okay, I can do that! Is it okay if I use my magic? ...I have to get better with it," he confessed, already wringing his hands somewhat nervously. He was still smiling though, so even if he was a bit nervous at the idea of getting hurt...better with an ally while sparring than with someone who actually wanted to hurt him badly.

"Oh no, I just mean that even pulling my punches, sometimes I leave a bruise! I don't try to, but well, it happens sometimes. I can promise I won't aim for anything that would be immediately visible or cause you any trouble."
The last thing she wanted was to get anyone in trouble with their family after all. And as nervous as he seemed, she truly did want to be accommodating.
"Magic is fine! I like seeing what other folks can do, to be honest."
Still smiling, she reached out and gently ruffled Caia's hair. He really was being awfully good about all of this.
"Okay. Hit me with your best shot, buddy."

As soon as she reached to ruffle his hair, Caia seemed to fully relax. He laughed and tried to fix his hair before taking a better fighting stance.
"I'm going to be honest with you, I have really bad coordination. If I fall and break my neck, I promise I won't hold it against you."
He smiled, drew in a breath, and then figured he'd start off with the best thing he had--his magic. At the very least, he hoped if he used it enough times he'd known what it was doing.
"Caia Cardinal Aid," he called, waving his hand at the same time. Two ethereal cardinals appeared almost immediately, soaring through the air. They flew towards Bestla, circling her while chirping a pleasant song around her. Their song was rejuenating and filled with confidence and, while the song was pleasant enough to Caia, he just tilted his head to his side and planted his hands on his hips.
Tapping his foot on the ground, his lips pursed and he stared at the birds inquisitively.
"...I...I take it back," he said after a second. "...I don't think that's my best shot. Don't judge me on that, I have no idea what they're doing."

Sailor Scout Attack: Caia Cardinal Aid Caia waves his hand and two ethereal cardinals appear. They will fly toward a target (order or chaos) up to ten feet away and sing. To Order, this song will invigorate them, making them feel temporarily rejuvenated; they will feel confident and will feel as though they've gotten their second wind. The Cardinals have no magical effect on Chaos in the area beyond instilling annoyance and serving as a distraction. The Cardinals cannot be touched or interacted with; Caia can choose to keep one to himself or to send the Cardinals to multiple targets, but the magical boost will not stack. The attack can be used three times per battle and will last for 30 seconds.

Watching the birds with delight, Bestla listened to them singing and had to resist the urge to reach out and try to pet them. After a moment, she grinned an apology to Caia and shrugged.
"I'm not sure either, but I like 'em. I feel pretty good too. Maybe they're just not attack birds. And I'm pretty sure they're a lot more useful than what I can do."
Intending to demonstrate, Bestla murmured, "Fairy Fires Aglow."
After a moment, she blew the delicately glowing spores out of her hand and watched as they traveled towards Caia.
"See? All my magic does is light stuff up. Sort of useful, but it still requires me to get all punchy with any bad guys."
Kyuseisha no Hikari
Sailor Bestla is able to create a tiny mound of glowing fairy fire spores in the palm of her hand which she then blows at an enemy. When/if the spores stick, the enemy is illuminated for 30 seconds, making them very easy to spot and attack. Bestla is able to use this ability 3 times per battle.

Caia still seemed to be judging the birds as they flew around her, but he was suddenly far more entranced by her fairy fire.
"It's pretty, at least!"
But, ultimately, not as helpful as it could be in battle. "If it's dark, that'll be great! And you can always say that if the person you're fighting against doesn't do something, it'll--I don't know--blow up on them!"
...But lies could only get you so far, for so long, and Caia was no good at lying. What was he going to do, say 'watch out, they'll peck your eyes out!' or something?
But the magic out of the way meant that the fighting was coming next, so he sucked up a breath and said, "All right, I'm going to try and hit you now! Just say stop if you want to stop!"
He was nervous but clenched his fists and then ran towards Bestla. Truthfully, he had no idea how he intended to attack her, but his long legs were a blessing and a curse. He was fast--but sometimes tripped over himself. He intended to try and throw a punch, but when he got close he feared actually hurting her and instead opted to lunge behind her and try to pick her up.

"Well, it works great as a distraction and just to startle the hell out of someone thus far. Hadn't thought about lying about other things it might do though... It's something to consider."
For a moment, she stood there awkwardly, feeling slightly relieved when Caia said he would try to attack her.
"Will do, good buddy," she replied, secretly thinking that he'd be more likely to call for a halt than her. Still, he was willing to try and his earnestness was kind of adorable. When he lunged, she'd expected a clumsy punch. What she had not expected was to find herself hoisted into the air. Even less expected was that this wiry guy was able to even hold her up.
Now, how was she supposed to fight back without beating the s**t out of his legs with her heels?

It seemed that Caia hadn't thought about whatever it was he was going to do once he'd scooped her into the air and, in the few seconds after he heaved her he seemed to realize the fault of this plan, as well.
"Sorry!" he blurted. "I didn't want to hit you! Here, let me just, uhm. Let me put you down," he said, and tried to scoot to the side a bit so he could return her to where he'd plucked her from.
Caia had not exaggerated when he said his coordination was faulty, but it wasn't entirely his fault that he misjudged the quality of the ground beneath them. Snow lightly covered a good portion of the ground--but snow wasn't threatening.
Ice posed a different problem, though.
A single faulty step meant that his leg slid from right out underneath him, and he was in no position to catch himself. His instinct was not to drop Bestla and flail or try to use his arms to soften the blow. Instead, he just tried to shift his weight so he was between Bestla and the ground and pulled her closer as if doing so would help soften her blow.

Feeling that it would be highly unfair to laugh at the confusion on his face, Bestla did her best to reassure Caia.
"It's okay, honest! You thought outside the box and I am genuinely impressed that you can hold me up. But, it would be nice to get down."
Doing her best to not move, so as not to throw off his balance, Bestla felt her heart leap into his throat when Caia's leg slid out from under him. And caught up as she was, she couldn't do much to help. Especially when his instincts to protect her result in her being held close. She let out a startled yelp as they fell and winced at the impact as she landed on top of him.
Moving quickly to roll off, Bestla decided that this sparring match was over. Powering down, she began to check Caia over, mentally berating herself for not thinking to check for ice first.
"Sweetie, are you okay? Can you move? We have to get you to a doctor, no excuses. Oh, umm. I'm Daisy, by the way. And I am so sorry for landing on you!"

Caia let out a little 'Oof' when they hit the ground but he was awake, staring up at the sky. He blinked, eyes trained on a single star.
"I'm okay," he said after a second of contemplation. His eyes found his way to her and he offered another smile. "I don't think I need to go see a doctor, I really don't like them all that much. I'm okay, I fall a lot. This wasn't even the worst this week," he said, but it was hard to tell if he was telling the truth or just trying to get out of going to the doctor.
She had powered down though, and it seemed only fair that he did the same; his uniform melted away, leaving only Myles--dressed in several layers of black and neon colored clothes. He seemed like he had dressed with the intention to stay warm.
"It's nice to meet you, Daisy. I'm sorry I threw you on the ground. I'm Myles," he said, once more offering his hand.
He hadn't made any effort to sit up or move; he seemed rather complacent to give his body a few seconds reprieve from his abuse of it.

Relieved almost to tears when he answered, Daisy shook her head and stroked his hair gently.
"Tolja, no excuses. You just had a muscle bound amazon land on you along with falling on frozen ground. I don't much like doctors either, but I wouldn't forgive myself if I just let you wander off."
Smiling a little weakly, she tried to inject a little humor into things as Caia turned into Myles.
"It's wonderful to meet you, Myles and you didn't throw me. The ground conspired to throw us both. C'mon, I'll go with you and stay by your side the whole time. I promise I won't even tell your brother."
