Here we will post information on the various races that live within the world of Remnant. Most of this information can also be found on the RWBY wiki.

Humans

Humans are the most common race found within the world of Remnant. They are abundant and they are treated the best of any of the races within Remnant. That being said, not all humans think the same and many feel very different from each other. Some patronize Faunus and Humanoid Grimm, while others condemn them to lives of discrimination. Humans have dominated Remnant for quite a long time, only recently having their power challenged by the other races of the world. Their harsh treatment of the other races over the years has put a strained relationship between the various races.

Faunus

The Faunus are a group of humanoid beings that possess one animal trait. This is usually shown in the form of a tail, ears, or even antlers. Faunus have been mistreated for centuries, being subjugated by humans and forced to believe that they were an inferior race to them. This subjugation lasted for quite a while until recently, when the Faunus began to fight back. This showed itself in the form of the White Fang, a revolutionary group that wanted to bring about equality within Remnant. Despite its original goal, their organization fell to corruption. Now, unbeknownst to many, the White Fang is nothing more than a terrorist group that seems to want to become the dominant race of Remnant. Faunus, while gaining many rights within the world ,are still looked down upon. Many people feel they are inferior and choose to humiliate or physically abuse the humanoid race. As a result, some Fauns have gone so far as to hide their animal traits while in public. Even worse, some have even removed them entirely in an effort to fit in. Then, there are some that proudly display who they are for all the world. After all, there is nothing to be ashamed of if you are a Faunus.

Robots

Robots, while not being a natural race of Remnant, have begun to make their place in the world. They are very abundant in Atlas, yet they are rarely seen anywhere else in the world. These robots are strange, and more often than not they are devoid of any emotion or capability to think for themselves. The exceptions to this are androids. These are humanoid-like robots that can blend into society, replicating almost everything that the other races of remnants can do. That being said, there are very few androids within the world, and most of them lack any sort of intelligence or a "soul," so to speak. Many robots are simply mindless soldier-like entities that roam the streets of Atlas and protect those in need of it. They are programmed to act a certain way, walk a certain route, and even who is an enemy. As such, this race is easily taken advantage of and turned into a weapon for enemies.

Grimm

The Grimm, while still being a very destructive race of creatures that only want the fall of humanity, have evolved over time. Just recently, humanoid Grimm have appeared within the world, appearing very similar to humans and Faunus. The development of this new race caused a wave of panic throughout a world that was already plagued with discrimination and a revolution. While the Faunus were fighting for equal rights, the humanoid Grimm were trying to integrate into a society that would never accept them. Being born from a race that was the archenemy of mankind, they were discriminated against and considered nothing more than savages waiting to kill everything. As a result, many of the humanoid Grimm became murderers, thieves, or simply decided to work again Huntsmen and Huntresses as leaders of the Grimm. Forming The Wanderers, humanoid Grimms traversed through the different nations and caused havoc and destruction as best they could.

What few humanoid Grimm decided to follow in the footsteps of what they were developing into were discriminated against and considered a hazard to any society that welcomed them. They were essentially a disaster waiting to happen. They deal with discrimination beyond anything what Faunus would experience. Their one benefit, however, is that it is very difficult to tell them apart from the other races. The only clear difference is their lack of an Aura and Semblance. Thus, they try their best to mimic the societies they are in and fit in.

COLOR NAMING RULE

Here at RWBY: Simple Souls, we're enforcing the color naming rule. A set of guidelines created by Monty Oum for all RWBY characters and original characters! The only character to ever have been an exception to that rule is Ozpin, but if you're caught up, you can speculate why that would be the case. Anyway, the naming rule is rather simple. Your character's first or last name must relate to a color, be a color, mean a color, or make one think of a color. For a more in-depth explanation on the Color Naming Rule, feel free to visit the WikiPage.
