“You gonna be okay?” Peter asked as he shifted his backpack onto one shoulder. “I mean, if you want, I can give you a ride home,” he offered, figuring it was the least he could do. Peter and his classmate, Jason, ended up getting stuck working late on a project at the library. It was only when the doors were closing and they were getting kicked out did they actually pack up their work. Who thought research papers on classical mythology would take so much effort?
He didn’t know the guy very well. They didn’t really talk in class. It was just because they’d been partnered together that Peter actually spoke to him. Not that he had anything against Jason. Peter was usually kind of a loner at school, preferring to get work and studying done rather than socializing.
“It’s no big deal, I promise,” he started, but there was a growl from the nearby alley that had Peter both groaning and reaching into his pocket for his pen. Best case it was a stray, worst case it was a youma.
“Hey, give me a sec, okay?” he said, hopping down the stairs of the library and looking around to make sure no one was lingering that might also be in danger.
Luckily it seemed as though no one else was around. Unluckily it was a youma. A big hairy one. And it looked like a hybrid of a spider and a dog.
“Fascinating,” probably shouldn’t have been Peter’s response to seeing the youma, but it was. He glanced over his shoulder to see if Jason had run off yet… “You should, uh… probably hide…” SSBrosB Please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to change/edit!

Jason shrugged in response to Peter. "I'm okay. I can always call my brother to come pick me up anyway." His brother would be happy to pick him up, and Jason knew that he didn't have any late college classes. Though he also knew that his brother hated going out in the cold, so he didn't want to bother him. He was surprised at how long the project had taken. Of course they had to figure out what they were going to focus on, and then what they needed to find for their papers. It had taken a while. He wasn't quite used to the work yet, but it kept him busy at least. This was the first time he had really talked to one of his classmates outside of school. Unfortunately he had been trying to change his study habits to keep up with the coursework and then of course he went back home during the winter break, so he hadn't had a lot of chances to socialize. He had seen Peter in class, but had otherwise been too busy with studying to really talk to anyone. Jason was about to reply with "I'm fine", but he also heard the growl and stopped himself from talking. "Wow, that sounded scary. Are you sure you want to go in there by yourself?" He wasn't sure why Peter was even going in there in the first place, but apparently the other was curious, and with the groan, it sounded like the student had something to do with stray dogs or something. Peter went off though before Jason could do anything else and Jason patiently waited for him to come back out. Peter hadn't gone in far, but whatever he found, it had been interesting to him it seemed. Unfortunately, Peter's first response had made Jason curious and he walked a bit into the alleyway, only a foot or two. He felt a chill go up his spine, and it wasn't from the cold. "Why? What is it?" Stepping into the alleyway was giving him all sorts of warning signals that it had been a bad idea.

Well, Peter had hoped Jason would stay back, but it seemed as though the other was just as curious as he was, although possibly for different reasons. After all, Peter had been trying to research youma and what they did and were like for over a year.
“Ah, is this your first time seeing one of these? You said in class you were from California, right? Well, welcome to Destiny City. We’ve got monsters and magic. That right there is a youma and it’ll try to attack you to eat your soul,” Peter quickly explained as he took a step back, holding out his arm to keep Jason from getting too close to the creature.
Naturally, the youma wanted nothing more than to attack. It snarled and all eight of its hairy legs pushed it forward, its fangs bared. It lunged for the boys, and Peter slid his backpack off his shoulder to swing at the youma’s face, sending it howling in anger against the side of the building.
“Come on! Gotta run,” Peter told the other teen, reaching out to grab hold of his wrist to drag him along, trying to get around the other side of the building and hopefully to safety.
Well, safety if the youma wasn’t right behind them. It was quick to get back on its many feet and scurry after them, Peter cursing under his breath. He didn’t usually reveal his identity to people he hardly knew, especially classmates who could go around blabbing about who he was, but he needed more power to keep the youma back.
“Okay, you stay here, I’m gonna fight it. And I swear to god, Jason, if you tell anyone what you’re about to see,” Peter warned, trailing off as he pulled his henshin pen from his pocket and gripped onto it, muttering the words under his breath to transform into Super Sailor Oberon. He lifted a hand to give a small salute to Jason, and then pointed directly at him with a frown. “Stay.” And slipped back out of the alley he’d pulled Jason into in order to see where the youma went.

"A youma huh it - wait what?" Eat his soul? "You have got to be kidding me!" Jason just couldn't believe it. Even with all of the attacks he had endured so far, none of them had even hinted that there was something that could EAT SOULS. Jason was too shocked to do anything other than to go with Peter when he grabbed Jason's wrist. He couldn't even think straight. Soon enough though his mind caught up with the situation happening and he nodded silently to Peter. "Yeah... Yeah I won't say anything." He promised. Would anyone even believe him anyway if he started blabbing about eight-legged spider dogs and his classmate suddenly changing clothes with magic. He was shaking a bit, though he was still able to make his body do what he wanted, and that was currently to stay where he was right now, hopefully away from the danger. But something caught his eye, something a bit shiny...

As soon as Oberon powered up, it was obvious that he and Jason were not alone. And it wasn't just the youma he was concerned about, but the aura of a Negaverse officer lingering nearby.
s**t. That was not good. Not when he needed to keep the youma away from Jason. He could handle one or the other no problem, but both of them made it much more tricky. The youma itself had circled around, climbing up the wall to the building a block away from where they'd been at the library, clearly waiting to attack.
It was quite an interesting youma, though. Oberon was torn between making sure Jason made it to class the next day in one piece and pulling out his phone to try and record the youma for his research. He might have tried if it wasn't for the approaching aura of the Negaverse officer.
"Stay there," he hissed over his shoulder at Jason, hoping he knew that it was dangerous. In his limited experience, Bloodstone found that following youma was the fastest way to locating potential civilians with a lot of energy. It was even better when the civilians turned out to be Knights or senshi. He hasn't seen the teenager power up, so he wasn't sure of his identity, but he could feel the pull of the aura the moment he did so.
"If you give up now, there will be no reason to kill you," Bloodstone said, an offer that he thought was very generous given the situation. The teenage senshi seemed ready to take on the youma, but with the added challenge of a Lieutenant it was probably more than he was used to.
Bloodstone didn't wait for an answer, but sped forward as soon as the youma detached itself from the building to drop down onto the senshi, aiming to try and get a few punches in to knock him unconscious. If he could manage to drag him back with him, perhaps corruption would be better than simply taking his starseed.
Focused on the senshi and youma, Bloodstone had no idea that there was a civilian close by, just out of sight. Not that a civilian could do much against him and a youma...

Jason wasn't listening to Peter though. The object on the ground was taking up all of his attention. Jason would swear it was calling to him and there seemed to be... something about it that made him want to grab it. Although to anyone else it looked like a simple piece of circular glass, Jason was drawn to it. His mind was telling him that he should be listening to what Peter, now Oberon though he didn't know his senshi name, was trying to tell him, but he couldn't. Perhaps a bit too quickly, Jason grabbed the object with his hand and immediately felt that something was different. His hat that he had been wearing to protect against the cold was gone. What seemed to be a scarf was around his neck, he never wore those, but somehow one had appeared and his clothes felt... heavier? He wasn't sure. But what he was sure of was that it seemed that Peter was in trouble, or at least the area didn't feel safe. Although he didn't know it, he had sensed the aura of the negaverse agent and it had sent a bit of a chill down Jason's spine. He had to help his classmate!

Okay, so the youma wasn’t as cool as Oberon thought it was. At least not this close. He barely managed to jump out of the way of its many legs as it dropped from the building, but was rewarded with a solid punch in the face from the Lieutenant.
s**t. He was sure his lip got busted from that.
He let out a yelp and lifted his hand to cover his mouth, staggering backwards to try and avoid being hit again.
Only there was something that seemed to draw the Lieutenant’s attention, as well as the youma, and after a moment longer, Oberon spun to look towards the alley where another aura flared to life, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw a knight appear.
No way! Jason was a knight?? He could have at least said something!
“Adventure beckons!” he called, flinging his hand out in the knight’s direction as he jumped out of the way of the youma once more. “Look out for this old dude. His punches hurt like a b***h,” Oberon warned as he picked up some empty bottles from the alley floor to hurl at the youma, trying to distract it away from the knight. Bloodstone turned when the knight made his appearance, giving him a quick look over. He didn’t seem very old. Probably a teenager as well. There were so many of them these days. He didn’t bother trying to attack the senshi again, but instead went right for the knight in blue, aiming a kick at his stomach.
“You as well. Give up now and I won’t kill you,” he told him, his expression not changing much. Maybe a little more serious if anything. Having two powered individuals to corrupt would be quite the prize. He was powerless at the moment, but one day he would be a General and have the power to corrupt them on the spot.
Unfortunately, it was not that day. SSBrosB Adventure beckons! -- Sailor Oberon calls out his magic and his target gets a large morale boost and soothes minor physical pain, although Oberon is sure it’s just the adrenaline kicking in. As well as becoming more adventurous, his magic may also influence his target to be more careless or rash, especially now that they are not as hindered by some of their physical pain. Lasts about thirty seconds and can use it three times.

Jason, now Alphubel, ran down the alleyway, but was surprised at what he saw. It looked like Peter was hurt, there was still the monster, and now there was some other guy there too. And apparently the other guy wasn't there to help if Peter's words were any indication, along with the fact that the agent seemed to be aiming to attack him. After Peter called out his attack, Jason felt what he thought was an adrenaline rush which gave him the courage to fight, though considering that Jason had never been in any sort of fight before... well, let's just hope the adrenaline helped. Peter was distracting the youma though, so it seemed that the each had their own opponent. Jason tried to dodge Bloodstone's attack, however he was unable to dodge it and got hit squarely in the middle of his stomach. However he was able to grab the leg, and tried to throw Bloodstone off balance by keeping a grip on it.

Bloodstone felt his punch connect, but he hadn’t been expecting the youthful looking Page to grab onto his leg. He snarled as he tried to shove the knight off, not wanting to give him an opportunity to do any damage. Both he and the senshi seemed high school age with very little training. He would dispose of them quickly.
He threw another punch at the knight’s face this time, but before he could connect, a bottle hit the back of his head and he stumbled both from being hit and from being held on to. Bloodstone managed to kick himself free and turned to see where the bottle had been thrown from, although he was fairly certain he knew. These two children were proving more frustrating than he’d originally anticipated.
Taking a few steps back, Bloodstone watched as the senshi approached, and glanced down to the knight, tempted to try and finish them both off, but knew better. He took a step back and took off into the darkness of the alley. ”Back off, gramps,” Oberon shouted at the retreating form of the negaverse officer, the youma bursting into dust behind him after he’d managed to stab it with a pipe he’d found lying around in the alley. Oberon was still in shock that Jason had to be this knight, and yet he never even hinted.
“You could have powered up when I did!!” he gaped at his classmate, reaching out to offer him a hand to help back up. “You okay? He got you good,” Oberon groaned, lifting a hand to his own face to smear the blood from his cut lip.
“My name like this is Oberon, of adventure,” he introduced and then paused, looking the knight over. “This… you didn’t just become a knight, did you? Don’t worry about that guy, he’s gone. You can feel the aura going away,” Oberon pointed out with a heavy sigh and shook his head at the knight.
“Alright, well… what’s your name? You’re a knight so there’s more to it than just your name. Although, with the symbols all over you, I’d say you’re a knight of Polaris.” SSBrosB I hope gaia doesn't screw this up too much. orz;

Alphubel could do nothing but hold onto the leg as tightly as he could. He would have done something different if he actually knew how to fight, but that wasn't the case. He had never even so much as slapped someone before. So, this was all he could think of doing right now. However, the attacker seemed to know what he was doing, and Alphubel could only flinch in surprise as he watched a fist flying toward him. However, that suddenly disappeared with the attacker flinching, and eventually kicking Alphubel in the stomach, enough to knock him onto the ground. Alphubel groaned a bit as he felt pain shoot through him. But it seemed that the attacker had run away, and he barely registered what Oberon was saying to him. He thought he heard "powered up" but he wasn't sure. He did appreciate the hand that appeared in front of him though and was accepted being helped up. He brushed himself off a bit, making sure he wasn't too hurt, before he took a good look at Oberon. He was surprised at the bloodied lip. It seemed that the monster, or attacker, had gotten Oberon. "I'm okay." Was all Alphubel could say, wondering if there was anything he could do to help. Looking at his classmate, he definitely noticed the different clothing. "Like this?" Jason probably sounded a bit dumb, but he was still in shock at what had happened. "Become a knight?" Yep, he was probably sounding pretty dumb right now, but he had absolutely no idea what Oberon was talking about. He looked down at himself, and jumped a bit in surprise at the clothing he was now in. He knew he felt he was wearing something different, but this was really, REALLY different. That and it didn't seem very much like a "knight". A mage maybe, but a knight? He did realize though that he felt something like a presence fading. That must be the aura that Oberon was talking about. He thought about Oberon's question and couldn't help but blurt out "Alphubel."

”Alphubel,” Oberon repeated and then drew in a deep breath, his arms crossed over his chest as he looked his classmate over. “Well, I’m just glad you weren’t actually one of them,” he said, jabbing his thumb in the direction of the disappearing aura. “They’re bad news. They try to attack people and take their energy and starseeds…” he paused, realizing he might not be making any sense. “Kind of like your soul. Or they’ll try and convince you to join their side and help them attack people.”
Oh boy, Oberon had never actually had to walk someone through first powering up. He wasn’t entirely sure what to explain to him.
“You might need to find a knight that will give you better information about what you guys do. I mean, we pretty much do the same thing. Keep the city safe from monsters and the Negaverse, but… you guys are a bit different than senshi,” he tried to explain as he lifted a hand to his lip again, wiping away the new blood that dripped from it.
“It’s not safe to be out here, so be careful going home. We should power down because people like us and that guy can feel our auras. But you should be able to turn back into your knight form just by thinking about it. Keep your identity safe, otherwise you’ll have the Negaverse hunting after you, and that won’t be cool. Yeah yeah, I know. Do what I say, not what I do,” Oberon said with a grimace since he’d obviously just powered up in front of Jason, hoping he wouldn’t be part of the Negaverse. A huge risk, he knew, but luckily it paid off.
After a few moments, Oberon let his energy slip away and the transformation faded until he was just Peter again, and he dug into his pocket to make sure he had his phone and Jason’s number in it. “If you need anything, just call me, okay? I’ll help where I can, but as long as you remember to run when you feel like you’re in danger, you should probably be fine.”
Probably. SSBrosB We can wrap in a post or two more if you'd like!

The adrenaline and shock was starting to wear off for Alphubel and started to comprehend as much as he could of what Oberon was saying. He was still pretty confused since he didn't really know what senshi were or how to even contact a "knight" but at least he had gotten some answers. And it certainly explained a lot of what had happened to him since coming here to Destiny City. "All right, I'll try to find a knight..." He wasn't sure how to do that exactly. "Um... do you know how to contact any?" Oberon had certainly been doing this longer than he had, he might know some, right? Alphubel nodded at his classmate though and thought about powering down and soon felt himself wearing the clothes he had on before. That was good, he was afraid they might not appear. He saw Oberon change back to Peter and was glad to see his classmate in ordinary clothing again. "If it's all right... can I walk with you for a bit? I'm still a little dizzy after all of that. And I'll take down your phone number too." At least he would have someone to talk to about all of this now. He would take the other's advice though about running, at least until he knew more about what the heck was going on. He was still freaking out in his mind a bit. It would have been nerve-wracking just being attacked by some guy, but along with the youma and all of the transforming... he was surprised that he was still able to stand. "And... thanks for explaining some of this stuff to me. I'm glad I'll know one person for all of... this. Though I'll try not to bother you too much." He replied before looking around and gathering up his things. "If you don't want to walk together that's fine. Thanks for helping me though."Guine All right, how about you do one more post and we can end it on that?

Peter nodded approvingly when Jason was back to being, well, Jason. Although he did give his classmate an incredulous look when he suggested that maybe he wouldn’t want to walk with him. “Look, I’m not going to overwhelm you with everything right now because it’s going to take a while to process,” he said, taking a step forward and throwing his arm over the other teen’s shoulders in a show of comradery, tugging Jason closer so they could walk together, but also he could make sure his friend wouldn’t topple over if he really was feeling dizzy. “You won’t bother me, especially if it’s questions about all this,” Peter promised as he ushered Jason down the street. “And yeah, feel free to call or text whenever you want. I’ll give you a few names that I know, just in case you run into them. You’ve just gotta be careful,” he said and then pointed towards the street. “Come on. You’re not staying out here alone. I’ll drive you home,” he told him, not taking no for an answer. It was going to be difficult at first, but Peter thought that things were a bit better now than they were before. There was still the threat of the negaverse, but in his experience it wasn’t as cutthroat. Probably because of the influx of knights and senshi. Thankfully they were getting more allies every day.SSBrosB Fin! Sorry, Jason. You're stuck with Peter as a friend now.
