The Uchiha Clan were one of the founding noble families of Leaf village. The clan itself is said to be descended from the Hyuuga clan who possess the Byakugan bloodline and further back to be the heirs of the Rikudou Sennin's eldest son, who is said to have received his father's "eyes" and with it his powerful chakra and spiritual energy. Because their clan possessed the Sharingan or "Wheel Eye," the Uchiha excelled at being able to read and fend off attackers. This made them prime candidates to help found the Konoha Military Police Corps, which would incorporate the Uchiha fan symbol into their official logo.
Select few members of the Uchiha clan possess the ability to activate the bloodline Sharingan eye. This doujutsu (eye skill) gives one the ability to read Genjutsu, Taijutsu and Ninjutsu and then defeat it. As such, the clan member can view a technique being performed and see the tricks and movements required to be able to complete it. However the clan member can not copy techniques which are unique to another bloodline. It also gives one the ability to cast jutsu techniques only possible by possessing the eye such Amaterasu, Kamui, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi. The clan itself is known for their ties to fire. For a clan ninja to be seen as an adult, they must be able to utilize a Katon (Fire Element) jutsu such as Goukakyuu no Jutsu. Thus is the tie between the manipulation of fire and the mind of an Uchiha member.
The clan was founded by Uchiha Madara and his brother Izuna. In the early days of ninja battles, they battled the Senju Clan and eventually both groups came together to form Konoha. When Madara felt the clan was being marginalized by the Senju, he fought Konoha's Hokage and Senju clan leader Hashirama. Madara was defeated and went into hiding. Years later the clan began to become discontent with the village leadership and Madara returned. Before they could launch their insurrection against Konoha, they were wiped out by one of their own, Uchiha Itachi. Only one member from within the clan was spared, Itachi's brother Sasuke. Itachi and later Sasuke would join Madara in his drive to plunge the world into darkness, for their own ends. With Itachi's death as a man willing to sacrifice everything to secretly support Konoha, the final fate of the clan and its future thus rests in the hands of men swearing vengeance against their home village.

-Uchiha Itachi: A powerful Leaf ninja from the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Itachi wiped out everyone in his clan except for his little brother Sasuke.
-Uchiha Sasuke: A Genin from the village of Konoha, Uchiha Sasuke is one of the last surviving members of the Uchiha clan. This clan is known for the genetic ability to use the Sharigan eye. This eye allows its users to copy any jutsu technique their opponent uses. Sasuke's clan was killed by his older brother Itachi, because of that he has devoted his life to killing his brother.
-Uchiha Obito: In the past Uchiha Obito and Kakashi were teammates under the Fourth Hokage. During a mission in the war against Hidden Rock, Obito was killed. His name was later added to the marker honoring Leaf's fallen heroes.
-Uchiha Madara: Uchiha Madara was a highly skilled ninja who lived years previously. He helped lead the Uchiha clan and was one of the founders of Konoha.
-Uchiha Jin: Jins father had escaped the massacre of his tribe a long time ago, barely being able to carry his unconscious son away from the massacre, his lungs having filled with smoke from a fire. For days he had walked, fearing that if he stopped he would die and his son would along with him. Days they continued onward until fatigue finally took its toll, ending the brave mans life.
Jin had nowhere to go... and so he wandered, eventually finding himself walking aimlessly into the desert where he intended on dying of exhaustion and starvation as his father had... but fate had other plans. Jin eventually was found lying in the sand by a passing trader, and taken aboard his caravan to the nearest town where a Jounin known as Nara Orin took up Jin as his own, giving him food and shelter. He had heard of the massacre and knew of the power that was said to be held within the Uchiha eye... now Konoha wouldn't be the only ones with clans of the infamous eye powers... no, Jin would change that.
Jin rose through the ranks and finally completed the ninja academy, his determination knowing no bounds as if he where trying to kill himself of exhaustion as his father had so long ago. However doing so only made him stronger, pro-longing his existence... now Jin seeks nothing but a challenge, feeling he has overcome the cold hands of death he only wishes to fight those more powerful than himself and one day meet his demise where he can once again meet his father and mother.
