She made a beautiful scarf, and wrapped it in shiny wrapping paper. Honestly, she had thought about bringing flowers too…but then that seemed a bit much. Just a bit…but she really had thought about it. Sailor Kari made it to the spot where she was going to be meeting Stella, and glanced around.
Well, here she was. Early, sure but…but she was here. She had managed to sleep a lot too and had been eating as good as she could manage. There should be plenty of energy for Stella to take. Plenty of it.
Kari drew in a deep breath and leaned against the wall, trying to calm herself and going through her own little speech in her head, trying to figure out how to give the gift to the lieutenant.
She really, really hoped that she would get kissed again…
Kissing would be nice, yes.

Stellerite was purposely late.
By the time she came walking down the sidewalk, arms wrapped around herself, hands rubbing up and down her bare arms that were covered in goosebumps, it was ten, fifteen minutes past their meeting time. Her heels clicked against the concrete as she hurried forward, making herself appear out of breath, embarrassed.
"Kari!" She called, lifting her arm to wave at the woman as she came into view.
"I'm so sorry," she gasped, chest heaving and hands reaching out for the senshi's hands. "Were you waiting long? I got held up, but...you'll forgive me? Right?"

Kari was about to leave. She had stood there, waiting now for nearly half an hour. She was cold and tired and…and she just…felt drained. Much more drained than she ever did when someone took energy from her. This was a drained that started in her heart and just…radiated throughout the rest of her.
Just as she pushed herself away from the wall, half thinking of putting the wrapped gift into the nearest trash can and going for a warm drink at the nearest open café, she heard her. Stella was calling for her, and then Stella was reaching for her hands…and she felt better.
It was as though warmth was spreading from the hands of the lieutenant and into her. The gift fell to the ground with a soft thump, but Kari didn’t even really care right now. She was here…she hadn’t just been messing around.
“You’re…late…” She couldn’t think of anything else to say. Honestly, she wanted to cry.

The blonde only paid attention to the gift because she'd heard it plop on the ground because she was reaching for Kari's soft cheeks with her chilly fingers. "I'm sorry," she told her, stepping into the senshi's face as she cupped her chin and drew her face towards her own.
"Let me make it up to you beautiful," Stella suggested, pleadingly.
Running a thumb along Kari's bottom lip, the lieutenant tugged her down a little bit. "A kiss for forgiveness perhaps?" Stella pushed the package with her foot carefully.
"Did you bring me a present? Aren't you the sweetest?" Her lips quirked up in a smirk and she leaned into kiss the senshi.

Kari’s heart was pounding and for a moment, she really didn’t know what to do…she was going to be kissed again, and that was…was what she wanted desperately. She nodded mutely, her lips trying to kiss the thumb that was against her lip and her eyes closed in excitement.
“Yeah…I made you something…I just…couldn’t stop thinking about you…” Her arms wrapped around Stellarite and she relaxed, excited for the kiss. Kissing was one of the nicest things she had ever done…especially the kisses she was sharing with this beautiful lieutenant.
“I’m…you can go ahead and take my energy…it’s yours, if you want it…” Her words were hardly a whisper, and she held back from saying what she really wanted to say.
The words her heart was thinking.

"How'd I get so lucky?" Stella purred, hand sliding into Kari's hair as she closed the small space between their lips for a soft kiss. Pretending to be soft and meek wasn't really something that the woman felt like she needed to do, not when she had someone so malleable and willing.
"I will, later. Right now," she mumbled against the girl's lips, "I wanna focus on you, not divide my attention on that."
This time, when Stellerite kissed Kari it was hard and forceful, lips parting to deepen it while tugging the girl down. When she broke away, she was breathless and a little flushed. "Show me your present, then let's find somewhere to get cozy."
She trailed her other hand down Kari's ribcage.

She didn’t even want her energy. A thrill of excitement and wonder shot through Kari and she felt her knees almost buckle. Almost. She continued the kiss, and when Stella pulled away, the senshi almost whimpered in protest but forced herself to pull away too. “O-oh? Yeah…”
She felt dizzy again, lightheaded as though her energy had been taken…love really made you feel weird, didn’t it?
Kari had to swallow a few times and pressed her hand against her chest, trying to quiet her heart, which felt like it was going about forty miles a minute. Slowly, she reached down and picked up the carefully wrapped gift and held it to Stellerite. “I made it for you…I really hope you like it…”
She had used colors that best matched the blue of her eyes, yellow of her hair and the green of her uniform…as well as some black for accents…and it had made a pretty scarf, at least she thought so.

Blue eyes watched the taller girl intently, a smirk on Stellerite's mouth as she accepted the gift, using perfectly manicured fingers to peel the tape and paper off. The paper was discarded without care, hands running along the carefully knitted scarf. "Impressive workmanship," she commented, rubbing a particular stitch between her thumb and forefinger.
She bit down on her lip, taking the ends of the scarf in both hands and looping it around Kari's neck instead of her own.
This way, she could use the scarf to draw Kari back down for another kiss. "Beautiful, like you," she mumbled, leaning into her. "If we...find a place to sit, I can sit in your lap?"

God, Stella’s smile was…so amazing, it put every other smile in the world to utter shame. She watched the lieutenant opening the gift and waited, half holding her breath, hoping that she liked it. She needed her to like it.
“Oh! Well, thank you!” Kari’s voice sounded anything but confident, she was so flustered, and almost confused when the scarf, which was intended for Stella’s neck…but was suddenly wrapped around hers…and she was being kissed again…well, that was nice.
“No, more like you. You’re the one who’s beautiful…” She felt so out of place with this. Never before had someone said such things…never had she ever been kissed so much…or felt so special…
“You can do whatever you want…I just want to be close to you, Stella…” Her eyes had found the ground and she stared at it intently, somehow thinking, as a child did, that if you couldn’t see someone…they couldn’t see you.
And she didn’t want Stella to see just how red her face was right now.

"Mhm," Stella hummed, agreeing with the comment but distracting Kari with another, soft kiss. Slowly, she began walking backwards and using the scarf to coax the other woman along with her. "You like me that much? Already?" The blonde laughed, halting so she could slide her hands up Kari's neck and tip her chin up with her thumbs.
"Don't hide from me Kari. Don't you trust me?" Her bottom lip wobbled, making her appear like she would cry if the woman told her no. "Smile for me," she encouraged, stroking the woman's cheek.
"We should..." she licked her lips, "Find a place to cozy up."

“I…I mean…” Should she not like her this much already? Was she jumping in too quickly? Was she making a mistake…she seemed to be always making mistakes.
Kari had a hard time lifting her gaze but when she did, she tried to smile, she did. “I’m sorry…I’ll try to stop liking you this much…I really will I just…” She swallowed and allowed the other girl to lead her. She was in no position to resist.
“Nobody’s ever…been like you’ve been to me…I…I mean…I’ve never had a relationship…and I feel like…is…is that where this is going?”
Kari’s eyes flickered right back to the ground when she spoke the words, and she almost wished she hadn’t said them. Of course that wasn’t where this was going. Stella wasn’t…a senshi, she wasn’t on her side…they couldn’t have a relationship...
“N-nevermind. Forget I said that. Yeah…let’s uh…cozy up…it’s cold…”
She felt like a fool…This was not going at all as planned.

Even if Stellerite hadn't been the overly attentive type, she would have easily seen that her words had struck the wrong type of nerve and she clucked her tongue at the senshi. "Kari, cutie, you can like me as much as you want. I don't mind." Her voice was a purr, the grin on her mouth self assured and devilish as she pulled her in for a long, lingering kiss.
When she drew her mouth away, Stellerite stepped back, started to walk away, with her hand held behind her for Kari to take.
"I can't be your girlfriend," she admitted sorrowfully, "because you're wearing white and that's not my color." Would never be her color because she liked black more anyway and as far as the lieutenant was concerned, she was a queen in the making with the power of the negaverse on her side.
"But we can...we can do what we're doing and sorta date? Lowkey, of course, so we don't get in trouble. But...this way, you get to kiss me and I get cuddles and can fill my quota."

Kari took the hand and was quiet for a long moment as they walked. Well…okay, that hadn’t been expected, and honestly it kind of hurt…but that’s what she got for blabbing something like that. Of course they couldn’t date, she even knew that…but…
She was dismissed from it so easily and…maybe that’s the part that hurt the most.
And then…suddenly Stella was saying that they could date…sort of…and maybe that would be enough, and…and that was all that would ever be, so she would have to make it enough.
Honestly Kari was just happy that Stellas back was to her as they walked. “Yeah okay.” She worked very hard to make her voice even, to not sound as miserable as she felt. “That sounds good, I knew it was a stupid thing to say, I’m sorry. It just slipped out.”

Judging from the way Kari had deflated when she'd gone, I can't be your girlfriend, Stella wondered if she should have softened the blow. Ultimately, she decided it was better this way. She wanted to get the woman hooked on her, desperate for her approval and affection that, ultimately, she'd make the step into darkness and be a pretty little toy for Stellerite and her general.
Alkaid would be proud of her, she was sure.
"Aw, Kari, sweetie," she cooed, slowing to a halt to turn and look at her companion. "Don't be sad, I'm still here. I'm with you." She reached to cradle the senshi's face. "Do you want me to kiss away the pain?"

“Ah…” No, she should just say no and go home and…and forget all about this. She should just…go and hide…go and just forget all about this, drown herself in her homework and just…
Forget how happy she had been for a few short days.
Kari swallowed hard, trying so hard not to look into the bright blue eyes of Stella, trying so hard to just…not. “Maybe…maybe I should just go home…I…I’m sorry…”
Maybe later she could deal with this, but right now…she had never dealt with heartbreak before, and even though she knew her heart shouldn’t break from such a thing…from a girl she had hardly met…
It wasn’t listening to her brain, not even one little bit.
“…Maybe I’ll see you again…uh…n-next Saturday I guess would be okay…but right now…”
The senshi pulled her hand away, and her face away and took a few steps backwards, looking anywhere but at Stella. She turned and ran then, fled, more like. She was about to cry, and there was no way in hell she was going to let Stella see her cry, she couldn’t…she shouldn’t have fallen so fast for someone, it was stupid. She was so stupid.
…but…she would heal…
And by next week, she would be more than ready to give her energy again. It would be all right.
