He was still a bit nervous about taking Corvus out to Arsinoe but she had finally agreed to come and they'd made some time to do so. They were both free that weekend and they'd woken up early so they could, if they wanted to, spend a good chunk of the day out exploring.

In a way it would almost be like the vision he'd had only not nearly as grand. He could only show her what he'd found now rather than showing her something truly amazing.

He still thought it was but Corvus .. maybe not.

"Cordy? You ready to go?"

"If I say 'no' you're just going to tell me that I'm stalling again." Which wouldn't be entirely untrue. "So yes, I'm ready." She nodded, checking the small pack that she'd put together with a thermos of tea and lunch for whether or not they found themselves hungry later.

"You're going to have to walk me through this, Luc. The last person I did any sort of space traveling with was Celsus and I think it might be different for Knights than it is for us, but... I didn't ask." The Knight had been anxious enough about returning to his Wonder that she hadn't wanted to add her own endless questions to the mix.

He grinned slightly, glad she realized he would call her out on stalling again if she said she wasn't ready. "It's not hard. At least it's not for me anymore and I can take you easily enough." He hadn't done it before but given how often he traveled he figured he could take her too just as easily. "It's sort of just, it's kinda like Dorothy and the whole 'there's no place like home' thing and poof. There you are."

It was probably a bit more complicated but that's how he usually felt.

"Just give me your hand and I'll take us both. You wont have to worry about anything and don't freak out when we get there either. It's kinda messy."

"Do we have to power up first?" Her brow lofted as she watched her cousin with a bit of uncertainty for just a bit longer before finally holding her hand out to him. "And I'm not clicking my heels, if that's really how it works..." She sniffed, making sure that her other hand had a solid hold of the bag she'd packed.

He shook his head as he caught her hand. "I think I can do it faster powered up but I can travel like this too. You just have to hush for a bit cause I've got to concentrate. It's not all that easy. You should come with me but just keep your mind focused on my signature."

It was easier now that he'd been doing it so often but all in all it did take a bit of meditation to actually get there. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he let his mind go so he could focus in on the tether that attached him to his home world. He knew Cordy could feel him almost anywhere so he didn't think she'd have any problems not focusing on his signature.

He could feel the moment that their positions shifted and he always liked the tingly feeling he got as he was taken through space back to the asteroid. Moments later their feet settled on the stone path just outside the library.

Focusing her mind on Lucien and Arsinoe meant that she had to momentarily forget everything else that her mind was trying to latch on to. Cordelia had to forget about Corvus and the fear of what she might find there. She had to forget about everything that wasn't the feel of Luc's hand holding on to hers and how much she trusted him to not be taking her somewhere that he didn't believe would be safe for both of them.

When she felt the solid ground beneath her feet shift just enough to know that she wasn't on carpet anymore she opened her eyes, turning her head to glance around slowly. "... This is Arsinoe?"

"What's left of it." He nodded. "I think most of the buildings were wood and paper so they've rotted but ... well the Library made it."

Mostly made it. The stone structure was huge but most of the paint had flaked off leaving just the barest hint of the designs that had been meticulously painted once before. Some windows remained but most were broken or cracked. The only real glass that had survived was the dome though it was cracked and dusty with age. The two wooden doors that had once graced the front had fallen off their hinges. One had petrified into place the other was broken in two pieces on the ground.

"I have a camp set up inside and if you go down into the basement there's still books and scrolls."

"Luc..." Her eyes were wide with wonder as she stepped back to take everything in. This was magnificent-- Arsinoe was like something out of a movie, or an archeological dig site. Knowing her cousin, she could understand why he had kept coming back.

"This was a library? Stars... That... You've been in there? Are you sure it's safe?"

"This was the main one. The Grand Archive. Every civilization around made sure we had copies of their books and records so they'd stay safe." Fat lot of good that did things in the end but at least some of it had survived even if no one could tell them what it said anymore.

"I've been coming out here every couple of weeks for years. It's safe enough and the parts that aren't I've marked off so I don't accidentally get hurt. It would be better if you could see it how it was ... you have before, I saw us the day it officially opened, but..."

It was a pipe dream but he wanted to restore as much of it as he could.

"And you found all of this out just from exploring h-- Wait. You think that I've been here before?" Her brow quirked as she looked away from the building before them, looking back to her cousin. "You weren't going to school for archeology, were you? I don't think I remember you saying anything about any of that... What kind of equipment do you have here with you? Stars, Luc, this is incredible..."

"I know you have. I saw us here ... pretty much standing right here, the day that the Library opened. I saw how it looked and how much you liked the gallery dome." He nodded, catching her hand again to tug her toward the doorway.

"I went to school for history remember? With a minor in anthropology. So I've been poking around in catacombs before and in truth this place was built to withstand a pretty hefty attack. The lower levels are still completely in tact and safe to wander in."

"What makes you so certain it was me?" Her tone was curious, not accusatory. Lucien seemed so certain and she believed him if only because if nothing else made sense that did. It did feed into her idea that if she ever went to Corvus she was likely to see people she knew. Like minded idiots, joined through the centuries...

"Why don't you give me the tour, then, cousin?"

"I could see it all and well you haven't really changed." He laughed as he helped her over the broken door so they could head inside. "I mean we both look different obviously but it was still me and it was still you."

Inside everything was covered in dust but mostly in tact. The main desk was still there along with the shelves and the remains of the books that hadn't been taken to storage.

"I can't read anything in here, it's all in another language, multiple languages actually, but .." he held out an arm so she'd go look. He at least wanted her to see the dome and all the painted stars.

"So it's just a matter of... Finding a Rosetta Stone for the galaxy?" A soft laugh fell from her lips as she shook her head once she stepped down past the broken door. "Was this broken when you got here? Or did you hack it down so that you could get in?" She could see it going either way, honestly, depending on how determined he was.

Once he gestured for her to step forward she did so, glad that she'd worn a pair of sturdy boots at Luc's recommendation. She would have to remember that if she decided to make a trip to to Corvus; to prepare for everything really. "Luc, this is incredible... How did you keep this to yourself for so long?"

"It was broken when I got here but I think it broke from falling over when the hinges rotted. The other one is fused to the wall but if you look in the frame the hinges are busted." He followed after his cousin, stepping over things carefully. "And there's dust where it broke so I think no one really got in here when whatever happened."

Under the giant dome he paused and nudged her and pointed up. One of the constellations that was still visible on the dome was Corvus.

"Who was I going to bring here? It's not like I was telling anyone at school what I was."
