Nuawahn giggled happily as he trailed behind his new friend. She was a pretty leaf lady, and there weren't many leaf ladies in the jungle - which was funny, because it was full of leaves! And mushrooms! And bugs. Gently, he lifted some of the pooled water of the understory with his magic and contemplated tossing it at her. He decided not to - he'd actually had enough splash fighting for one day. That was, after all, how he'd met his new friend Iroia - they'd been bathing and he'd started playing in the water. It had evolved into a splashfight from there, and it had been so much fun! So her husband, who she was introducing him to, must be just as fun. "So, when are we gonna get there?" he asked, skipping along besides her with playful ease, "Is it far? Is it really far?" he skipped along a little more, "Is it really, really, really far?" he repeated, in rhythm with his skipping. It could be so hard to tell that he was a grown man sometimes...

Iroia reset herself with a little headshake, she could not understand this simple manchild, she liked to have fun, and the splashfight had been fun, a little one sided he was magical after all and she but a humble swordsman but that was okay, he had a healer's heart so he had won. She had not defended herself once and had gotten in a splash here and there. BUT SKIPPING? "We are here, he is watching us, I feel it." She murmured to her bouncy..bounce bounce bounce companion. It was good she had Vosh as a mate cause she seemed to attract crazy sunny people like Kaa and this one; Nua..something. She huffed, felt a twinge somewhere that seemed familiar but carried on anyway. The sooner Voshy came out of that tree the better to save her from Skippy here. "Vooooshyyyy." She whined, "I found a person and well...VOSSSSHHYYYY." she whined louder. She was a grown woman too, but nothing but nothing had prepared her for this ..dude. Made with wind and everything nice apparently they had forgotten all the negativity in his making no pepper no bitter salt..just sunshine and raindrops and adorableness. He just floated everywhere a strange creature that would have been perhaps more tolerable had she been a little younger, was that a grey hair in her pony? His was a personality set that really belonged in a toddler, no even they were not that nice. He was a gem of a person and she was surprised he had lasted this long in the real world. Surely someone would have taken advantage, she wasn't sure how, but there were people out there who would. "Okay slow down your making me dizzy with all the bouncing I have children who never bounced that much and a gecko that doesn't bounce that much." If she could harness that energy they could like clear a field in no time..if Nua didn't chase after butterflies or something, that was a distinct possibility. She wondered what had brought him down from the north and its barren landscape, a place she tried hard not to think of due to bad memories. The jungle really was better..for her and her mate and her family. Until she tripped on a root.

Votzhem was cleaning one of his daughter's kills. He was impressed - she was quite an able huntress. It hurt, though, to know that she was closer - still - with his cousin. Closer with him than her own father. It hurt, but he knew he would have to live with that. Iroia had gone to her bath, and though Vosh wanted to go with her, sometimes bathing should just be bathing. And sometimes one needed privacy, even from one's husband. Or Sister. He understood. It seemed, though, that she had returned. He put down his tools and wiped his hands free of blood and grease, walking around their (present) home to meet her. "Welcome back, Iroia..." he said, halting as he registered the other person with her. "... Hi." he said. What was there to say to a skipping windling who was accompanying his wife back from her bath? It was a better option than rushing him, pinning him against the nearest tree, and demanding to know if he had touched his wife. "What did you find, Iroia?"

Nuawahn travelled far and wide, but he did like the idea of them being there already. "Watching us? Where? Where?" Nuawahn waved and beamed at any likely place. "Hehe!" Nua giggled, skipping ahead and very much not taking her seriously about the dizziness. Not that he could stop being bouncy. Not that he would try. And then he saw the man. He was big and blue and BIG, with antennae like an alkidike! He was a hybrid! "Hiii!" he replied, waving enthusiastically. "Is he your husband?" he asked Iroia. He seemed nice! And good looking. And really strong! Nuawahn wondered if he minded hugs.

Iroia ran a hand through her hair. "Well, his name is Nua, and I don't know what to do about him. He doesn't see things the way most people do." She was lucky she had had her clothes on already by the time he had popped out of the bush. "We had a bit of a splash fight, it was fun, he won." She was a sword warrior anyway, so she shouldn't feel to bad about loosing to a little gust of a windling right? "Have you seen Arron or Volka, somehow I think they would get along better with our visitor." Maybe the twins were a mix of their parents which would make them better suited to deal with Nua right? "I don't think there is a not bouncing time." Iroia sidled around Nua and hugged her husband tight. She stayed there feeling oddly clingy, then she sniffed. "Hmm you've been cleaning something. Something good right? Yum?" She had missed the fun, he was getting all dirty and here she was very clean. She rubbed her cheek on his jaw, she loved the feel of the fuzz there. "Yes this is my husband, Nua meet Votzhem, holder of my heart."

Volkarosh had just been in to drop off her kill, but then she'd gone off with her brother somewhere to do... Whatever it was they did. They would probably end up with yet another new pet. Wonderful.
"A... splash fight?" Votzhem wasn't sure what to make of that, if anything at all. Or the fact that she'd lost. He raised his eyebrows and stared at the windling suspiciously, though considering Iroia and considering the sheer... energy? That seemed to suffuse the man, he wasn't entirely sure what he was suspicious about. Infidelity? Being a spirit she'd accidentally brought home? A thief? Who knew.
He hugged his wife and kissed her. "They're out, my dear firebrand, so it will just have to be us..." he said, deciding that, even if somehow this sparkling person was trouble, he could deal with him. Him and Iroia? No issues. He relaxed - a deadly sort of relaxation, like the confidence of a predator. "Fortunately, we'll be eating well for the next few days." he eyed Nuawahn, "Yes, I'm Votzhem. Nua...?"

Nuawahn was oblivious to any and all threats. Not that he would have noticed - he was too busy looking at Votzhem's muscles - all of the muscles! "Wow!" he said, grinning in playful conspiracy at Iroia, "You're soooo lucky!" He looked at them both, together. "You're both so lucky!" They looked really good together! They were both really handsome people. That was good! Nua was a firm believer that the world could always use more handsomeness. More beauty. "Yum? Yum!" he said, bouncing gamely, "Food is a very good thing!" he added. He wanted to ask if there was enough for him, if he could stay with the pretty people, but he needed to think more. It was hard to think, yes, but there was a conundrum here because he knew there was actually someone nearish to here he needed to go to, and someplace he needed to be - his special medicine was running low, and he needed to restock and to say hi to the nice Alkidikes who grew the special plant. They were nice people. "I'm Nuawahn! Nua is good too!" he pondered for a moment. "Votzhem is a really nice name. It has lots of fun sounds!" he said, nodding in approval. Abruptly, he reached into his pack and brought out a golden moracker. "And this is Jelta!" he said, thrusting her out at them. She did not look happy. Her eyes were half-lidded with sleep and annoyance, and her cheeks puffed out with stored food. "CH!" she insisted, struggling. "Oh! Uh oh!" Nuawahn said as she wiggled free of his grasp and fell to the ground. She stood for a moment to get her bearings, and was soon running, lightning fast, into the shelter of the house...

"Is your sailscale going to eat that rat thing?" She asked her mate in a quiet tone. Her alol wouldn't she was pretty sure but sailscales were canny and predatory, she loved them.. that critter better not get into her pantry. As for their guest what could she do? She didn't particularly understand him but everyone seemed to like tea. "Would you like some tea? Or soup or something?" She asked, playing the polite one for once, it was usually a toss up but it was hard to be really angry with someone so bubbly. Especially when she seemed to have everything; a voshy, two kids and a home and it seemed like this manchild for that is what he was she thought was far from home. She didn't know if he had a mate. "Oh yes, um Nua you might want to find your pet, I forgot we have two cats now."

Oddly enough, the name rang a bell. He had heard of a wandering healer during his occasional trips into the Tale borderlands. There was debate over whether this stranger was a spirit or not, but he cured sickness and healed wounds, cast illusions in his wake, and built armies of snowmen. They did say that he at least looked like a young wind male. This was probably him, and given the... attitude... Votzhem wouldn't be surprised if he was some sort of strange spirit.
He eyed the small creature... the familiar (that did have a ominous tone when talking of spirits, didn't it?) "I see." So should I be worried or not about him and my wife?
To be honest, Votzhem had no experience with spirits. Or possible spirits. However, he had experience with guests and with being a guest himself. In Zena, you let in strangers and provided hospitality, and then dealt with them accordingly.
"Right. And a sailscale, so you'd best get her..." Votzhem said, standing out of the way, "As soon as possible... Dear," he said, barely skipping a beat as he turned to his wife, "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"She's a Moracker!" Nuawahn corrected, "Not a rat!" It was a pretty big distinction, though he didn't dislike rats. They were a little scary, but they could be friendly if you were nice to them! "We'd love some soup! I love soup! Soup is tasty, tasty, tasty, Mmhmm!" he chanted, sing-song... "But I should get Jelta F... OH YOU HAVE PERZI?!" He squealed in delight. Kitties! Cute spiky kitties! "Can I pet them? Do they play with yarn? I like fluffy animals... Oh!" Realization dawned, slowly but surely on him. "Oh no, Jelta! I'll save youuuu!" he said, rushing past Votzhem and into the house, "Jeeelta!" he called out, dropping to the floor to search under everything and everywhere she could be, "Come out, come out, I have treats!" he cajoled...

"Looks like a rat, smells like a rat, esh." Iroia turned to her mate after shaking her head at the little wind man/boy/thing. "Yes of course my love." He she understood, he was like balm to whatever weird bouncy thing Nua was. Oh well, she would feed him, and send him off, it was only polite, after all. She could understand a lot of things, but Nua was not one of them, he was vaguely giving her a bit of a headache and she couldn't wait to sit down with Voshy afterwards and just talk a little or not at all. "I think Arron's perzi likes yarn, you could try it?" He would have fun finding her yarn though, she had used the last of it to patch up one of their coats. Maybe he had some. Iroia snuggled up into her husband, not being able to resist very well at all once the windling went inside. "Hello." she purred.

Votzhem went with 'smile and nod' as the windling rushed off to save his pet.
"Mm. Hello." Votzhem returned her friendly greeting with a hybrid hug-cuddle of his own, but he knew he couldn't let himself get distracted by her (freshly washed!) warmth against his. "So, that... person. I've heard about him - I hear he's some sort of spirit." he said, a little urgently, "Did he do anything to you?" That you know of?, "Did he say anything strange? Particularly out of the ordinary?"
He'd heard mostly benevolent spirity things about this Nuawahn, but he had to be sure. He had to protect his family with rationality and strategy, since Iroia (and her friend) could handle the force part of it. And, with such a strange entity entering his house and doing Aisha knew what, Votzhem felt like he had to know everything going into this... situation.

"She doesn't smell at all!" Nuawahn protested. That wasn't exactly true - Jelta smelled - but Nua personally thought she smelled good. Warm, oily, a little musty... but dry. "Jeeeeelta... Oh! There you are! No, no, don't run awaaaay!" he said, trying to grab her. "Do you like yarn? I have beads. Do you want the beads?" he cajoled, dangling it in front of the rodent. She was cornered - she couldn't escape. If he just used a shield to block her going sideways, he could reach in... "Come on, Jelta...!" he said, putting up a small wall of shimmering force, "I'm gonna pick you up, and put you in my pocket, and give you lots of seeds!" he jingled his beads again for her, "And hug you and keep you save from the kitties. There's kitties, Jelta!" he darted forward, grabbing her. She struggled angrily and bit him, an indignant gleam in her huge eyes. "Ow!" he said, hugging her close to his chest as he leaned back on his haunches. "Nooo, Jelta, that was mean!" he said, frowning childishly, "No biting!" he said, kissing her face. "Bad!"

"Well he is very weird, but nothing magicy if you are worried about that, I think he is just so strange, and sunshiney that everyone kind of judges him wrong, I'm pretty sure hes not all there upstairs." She listened intently to the cries and calls coming from inside. "But he is a nice enough sort, then to you've seen MY preferred company." She grinned thinking of Ruelash and his aldabuck. Bitter was as bitter does, and this windling was anything but bitter, even after a bite from a what was it? Moracker? Iroia had never had much use for rats, idly she wondered if Slail her lizardy gecko thing would eat a moracker...probably if Slail was hungry enough she would. Interesting. Well it wasn't her pet getting eaten after all. Iroia peered in the house. "Did you catch her? Is she okay? Is it a she?"

Votzhem was worried about things other than magic, too. "Did he touch you?" He trusted his wife enough to not be touched in ways he would object to, but who knew what this... whatever he was... could do.
"Hmm." It was possible that Nuawahn was just... odd... and misjudged. It had happened before. He looked to their house, listening to the progress of the pet finding expedition within. "You have a point."
Would it be a bad thing to experience someone so sunny, after so much aggressive energy? Was Nuawahn strange mainly because of the company that Votzhem kept these days? Odd, though - weren't there stories of this person even in Alkidike lands?
He was slow to follow his wife, instead calling Seri down from their branch. Better to have his flying beast in view and under control then to suddenly fly off with someone else's familiar. With Seri on his arm, he echoed Iroia's question. "Everything all right in there?"
