Tom sipped at his hot chocolate as he walked through the town that was close to the Prytaneum. He wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, but luckily they had hot chocolate at coffee shops so he at least got to have a hot drink to deal with the cold January that Michigan was offering. Although he had managed to land a job in San Francisco for a bit, he had heard about the town needing another doctor and so he decided to go in for an interview just in case. He really hoped that if he got the job here that he would feel a bit closer or at least a bit more needed at the Prytaneum. And so he was out here, in the cold and snow, trying to convince himself that if he got the job that it would be worth the awful winter weather.

The cold kept most people curved and hunched in a head-down-and-rushing posture, darting through the snowy streets and sidewalks with barely a glance towards other human beings. Misha, however, did her own thing as always and that never included ignoring others. She loved to people-watch. It made her smile despite the icy temperatures. There were stories all around, things to see and learn, things to turn to one's advantage. As she crossed the street towards a coffee shop, Misha noticed a somewhat familiar figure holding a take-out cup carefully between both hands. She squinted a bit. He was a Chosen. She was sure of that. But which one? Definitely not Hera or Zeus or Dionysus. It galled her to think there was someone from campus that she did not know on sight and could answer any number of questions about easily. At least that was something which she could remedy. Immediately, in fact. Grinning, she moved more swiftly until she could get close enough to be within easy calling distance. "Hello!"

Tom looked up to see where the hello had come from, and if it had been directed at him. It seemed so because a woman was coming up to him a bit quickly. He had a hard time placing her at first, but then blushed a bit realizing that it was that... cat lady person. Or at least the one who had been a cat. He was a bit embarrassed to admit it, but he did not remember her name at all. If they talked, he would have to add her to the list. He gave her a small smile and used a hand to wave a little, showing that he had noticed her. "Hey!" He said back, hopefully enough that she could hear him. He really hadn't expected to meet her here at this hour. Or at least he hadn't seen any of the chosen here before, though he was sure that they came every once in a while at least. The cold must have been keeping them back. He couldn't blame them.

"How are you?" As she neared him, Misha recognized his features a bit more. She definitely recognized the hat! Smiling brightly, she briefly touched his coat sleeve when she reached his side. "Tom, right? What brings you into town on this freeze-your-nose-off kind of day?"

"I'm fine for right now at least. Hoping to be a bit better soon. How are you..." Oh jeeze this was embarrassing. "I am so sorry, I forgot your name. I've hardly interacted with anyone here and I only just started to make a list to remember who is who." His face probably looked even more red from having to admit such a thing, but during his Residency he had learned that if you didn't know someone's name, you had to ask, because it could cost you in the future. Though he probably wasn't in danger of killing anyone with medicine here, he needed to know the others at least instead of being the loner.

"It's okay." Misha shook her head reassuringly, smile still in place. "There's a lot of us and it seems like you've been in and out a lot. Not everyone is living on campus, after all. We come and go." She paused, eyed his cup, and then glanced at the door of the nearby coffee shop. "Speaking of coming and going, would you mind going in there with me so I can get a hot drink? That is, if you want to chat and catch up some." Her grey eyes sparkled with humor. "I think I still have to beg your forgiveness for laying on top of you down in Louisiana." She still hadn't given him her name. Whoops.

He realized that she hadn't given her name still, but she was probably just distracted by something. He could always ask for her name again right? He gave a small smile to her. Although he may not have wanted to go back in there, this would be a good opportunity to get to know another Chosen. "All right, that sounds like a good idea. And you don't have to apologize for that, I wasn't in my right mind anyway. But I'd like to get to know you a bit better at least. I barely know what anyone even does as a job or hobby let alone what type of person they are there." He replied, turning towards the coffee shop and waiting for her to follow him.

"Lucky for you, a lot of us like to over-share." Misha winked teasingly and then motioned for him to follow her into the shop. She held the door for him and it shut with a merry tinkle of a bell once he was safely inside. She headed immediately for the counter to order, counting on him to trail after her wake. Without too much hesitation, she ordered and paid for a salted caramel latte. While they waited for it to be made, she turned to smile again at Tom. "I'm Misha, by the way."

Tom couldn't help but follow her back into the coffee shop. He wouod have to if he wanted to talk to her more, but also it was nice and warm, which was better than being out side in the cold and freezing wind. He smiled at her when she finally said her name again. "Misha. I'm going to have to remember that. It's nice to meet you again." He replied, holding his hand out for a shake. He put his drink on the counter and took out his phone. "Sorry, but I tend to write notes on here and even though you're introduced yourself again, I'm going to have to write it down to remember." It was pretty sad that he couldn't remember people's names considering he was a doctor. However it was different from learning medical problems and what to do, those tended not to really differ, but there were tons of names out there that people could have, some with really odd spellings. He had always made sure to double-check the chart and read off of it whenever he talked to a patient or their family.

"No offense taken. Names can be tricky." Misha leaned against the counter and watched him type into his phone with a slight smile. "M-I-S-H-A," she added helpfully. "Though I've noticed we don't really have duplicates in Prytaneum. Not that I've noticed, anyway. We have a lot of unusual names, though, too. You have to wonder if it's just coincidence or there's a meaning to it." Before she could continue on any theories, her name was called and she turned to accept her drink from the barista. She rewarded the young man with a brilliant grin. Then she turned her attention back to Tom, half-motioning as if offering his choice of seats in the place. "So what are you doing wandering around in this cold weather?"

Tom nodded a bit, making sure to spell her name correctly in his phone notes. "Well, Misha is pretty unique at least. So it might be easier to remember." He replied after finishing his typing and looking at her again with a small smile. "I think I like the variety of different names. At least we don't have to differentiate between three James or something." He would have to start remembering last names too if that was the case. He blushed a bit at her grin, standing up a bit taller. He didn't want to seem like some gloomy guy who was looking depressed all of the time. He moved over to one of the empty seats, waiting for her to sit opposite of him before sitting himself. "Well..." Why was he embarrassed about this? "While I did get a job back in San Francisco, I saw an ad for a Doctor here in the village and figured I might as well try to get the job. I was just coming back from it." He looked at his almost empty cocoa cup, frowning a bit. "I was just hoping that it might give me some answers as to what I can do here, and if I'm here more, maybe I'll find out." He hadn't done much. Sure, he had participated in the few missions that they had done, or at least the Alps and Bayou ones, but otherwise, what was he doing here?

Misha nodded encouragingly as he explained his logic. She sat with both small, well-manicured hands wrapped around her coffee cup. Her grey eyes watched his face, gauging his expression against his words. As he trailed off a bit, she smiled again, more gently than before. "It would definitely make for a shorter commute," she agreed. "I can't imagine they won't offer you the job, though. I'm sure your qualifications are spectacular to begin with and..." She cast a look around before leaning in and dropping her voice playfully. "This is a pretty small town and they don't have to worry about luring you here which is something they would have to face with most other applicants. Plus where else are they going to get a God-approved doctor?"

He chuckled a bit at her response. He was starting to feel a bit better. Sure, he hadn't been nervous, but he had been feeling a bit depressed, even with the prospect of a job that could possibly point him in the right direction as to why he was there at the Prytaneum. It started to hit him a bit that he really needed to go out and meet other chosen. He had had many conversations, not only with himself, but the few that he knew here about how he needed to make more connections but as of yet, he hadn't had the courage to do so and certainly hadn't been concentrating on it. He had been feeling to sorry for himself for a while, even though he had no reason to. "Well, I wish I could tell them I was God-approved, but they might think I'm a bit crazy then. I'm not too worried, though getting any new job is sort of anxiety inducing, even if you think that you'll probably get the job." He sighed, relaxing in his chair a bit more, his shoulders drooping a bit. "But thanks for the encouraging words. They help, really." He gave her a bit of a lazy smile before taking another sip of his drink. He frowned a little before looking back at her. "I feel kind of bad, we've only been talking about myself so far. How have you been? We haven't talked in a while at least."

Misha's smile grew as Tom turned the conversation around; it was always kind of cute when people realized they were fixating and course-corrected. Especially when they switched the focus to her. All she did, though, was give a little shrug as she lifted her cup for a sip of her drink. "Since Louisiana and the Halloween party, I've pretty much been doing my best to stay out of trouble," she admitted. "I went home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, of course, but I'm pretty much moved in here." She giggled. "Well, I'm working on moving in here. I still have a storage unit back in Philly to go through but we can only fit so much in our dorms." Misha studied Tom thoughtfully. "Sylvia and I have teamed up as roomies. Do you have a roommate yet?"

Well, it wasn't too unexpected that she hadn't done much. Then again there wasn't much in the nearby surrounding area of the Prytaneum to do. He was glad he wasn't the only one who had a low-key fall and winter. "I'm still mostly living in San Francisco." He muttered it out, a bit embarrassed that his room contained only some modern style furniture, though he rarely slept there. After all, he still had his cats to take care of back home and he still wasn't sure if they were allowed. "I... no. I probably should at this point, I feel like I'm getting away with something, but it's been nice not having to share. Of course I still have my old apartment so if I was being driven crazy I could just stay there for a bit." It was nice to have something to fall back on. Besides, he could fit a whole lot more furniture there. And his cats.
