Kicking off her heels, Sailor Duhr plopped herself down on the sidewalk unceremoniously, waves of frilly skirt and bows making a soft whoosh sound around her as they settled. Her face was solemn, for a change, blue eyes shooting daggers at the grey blue heels that had subjected her feet to yet another round of blisters.

She knew she could probably make it home in a matter of minutes, her apartment in the seedy side of Destiny City only a block or two away. But the nagging feeling inside her, the feeling of being suffocated by the same four, dull, lonely walls wouldn't go away, so once again she found herself ambling the streets in the guise of patrolling.

In the distance, a shot rang out, followed by several loud cheers and hollers. Nothing sounded like a panicked scream, so she felt satisfied with staying in her little corner of the sidewalk for the time being. If anyone else needed her, she'd come runnin'.... but not until they made their distress known.

After all, she wasn't eager to add more blisters to her soles any time soon.

Julienne was a pampered sort of cat. She preferred to be in the good areas of Destiny City, and when…if she ever went through the bad parts of town, it was only because she was passing through. In fact…that’s what was going on tonight. She was padding along the roof edge of one ugly looking apartment complex when the feeling of a senshi hit her and she blinked in surprise.

There was a senshi around here?

The cat looked off the edge of the building and saw someone sitting on the ground, skirts spread out and curls for days. Oh. So it was a senshi after all…but why was she just sitting there? Was she hurt?

Julienne moved her head, looking for some easy way down to the senshi, but not only did she not find something within her reach, but her hat slipped, slipped right off her head and began to float gently down, landing right in the lap of the senshi.

…Well. At least it wouldn’t get dirty.

The little pink chef's hat fluttered across her poofed up skirt, white gloved hands moving to pluck it up from off the excessive amount of fabric. It was weird - then again, there were a lot of weird things runnin' around Destiny City - but finding a miniature hat in the middle of the scummy part of Destiny City...

Inserting two fingers into the opening of the hat, she poked upwards and twirled the accessory around on her hand. It was small enough for a doll, even, or a small critter like a...

Her head jerked around, bright blue eyes falling across the large feline descending from the rooftop towards her direction.

.... a cat!

Adjusting her skirt so that she could turn to her side, she gave the Guardian a small wave. "Well, howdy there! Don't ya know that this isn't the kind of neighborhood for pretty little gals like you? Are ya lost?"

“Good evening. I’m not lost, I was just passing through when I saw you...are you all right? I suppose I could ask why a pretty senshi like you is sitting in the middle of such a place.” Julienne hopped off of the building and at once climbed into Dhur’s lap, beginning to purr almost at once.

She always felt so good around senshi.

“You have one of the prettiest fukus that I’ve ever seen, what are you the senshi of?” Her big blue eyes were locked on one of Dhur’s curls, and she was trying very hard not to let her instinct take over and begin playing with it...but it was so bouncy…

It wasn’t often that Julienne let herself get distracted with things like that...but when she did...it was hard to get her focus back to whatever task was at hand.

Or paw.

Shaking her head, dozens of blonde curls went flying as she let out a rather unlady-like laugh. "Nah, ya don't need to worry about me, Ah live around here."

Another shot rang out in the neighborhood, but this sounded like a car backfiring more than an actual gunshot. Duhr wasn't worried.

One glove was plucked off her hand as she reached out to shake her newest, furry friend's paw. "Ah'm Duhr. Senshi of tornadoes. Who are you supposed ta be, lil gal?"

Reaching into the top of her dress, a folded up waffle appeared from who knows where, the senshi promptly tearing the cold breading into smaller pieces as she watched the cat gaze longingly at her curls. Popping a shred in her own mouth, she then gestured a small fragment towards her new friend. "Ya hungry, friend?"

At the new sound, Julienne gave a faint hiss and gave Duhr a look. “You...you live around here? How are you not frightened to death? I don’t think I’d last a week out here...and I’m Julienne, Guardian cat, but I’m sure you already figured that out.”

As the waffle appeared, Julienne’s eyes landed on it and she nodded when she was offered some. “I’m always hungry, thank you very much, Duhr.”

...What a strange name for a senshi. Oh well, Julienne didn’t pick out the names, she did, however open her mouth and wait for the curly haired senshi to feed her…because she was always hungry...and she did love the senshi who helped fix that issue.

Popping a piece of the tasty bread into the large cat's mouth, Duhr couldn't help but laugh at her comment. Afraid? To live in her apartment?

"Nah, Ah don't mind it much. Well I mean, it could be quieter and all..."

She spared a glance back in the direction of the noisy neighbors, but shrugged it off. They'd quiet down after a while - or else the cops would come and quiet things down for them. Either way, they'd get quieter. "S'not like I have anywhere else I can go, right?"

Shaking away the doldrums, she returned to happier thoughts. "Nice ta meetcha, Julienne. Haven't seen one of the talkin' kind in a long while. Y'all must have been busy, lately."

Duhr wished she could say that she'd been busy lately. After the fight they'd had with the Negaverse well over a year ago, things had been mighty quiet, aside from the occasional youma or two.

“You could find a new set of apartments, if you wanted, there are nicer neighborhoods, Dhur.” The cat chewed the waffle happily, snuggling closer to the curly haired senshi. “Well, we’re always around, though I’m sure most of us…tend to favor…well, I spend a lot of time with my senshi, perhaps you’ve met her? She’s the senshi of Watermelons, and her name is Lenka. She’s been busy with school though so I’m not sure she’s been around as often as she would have liked to be.

Now that her belly was a bit more full, she looked at the girl, studying her. “…Duhr…”

A sudden question popped into her mind and she was making an expression that was akin to a frown. “…Where on earth did that waffle even come from? Do you just…carry waffles with you?”

"Where else would you hold onto 'em?"

She seemed genuinely perplexed by the cat's question, one gloved hand moving to pull out another waffle fragment from god only knew where in her dress. "Snacks are important for patrolling, after all."

Munching on another cold, soggy food particle, she thought long and hard about the watermelon senshi that the nameless kitty had mentioned. She didn't remember seein' anyone watermelon themed, but then again... she hadn't been asking them, either. Were they just supposed to announce what they were senshi of? Had she been doin' her introductions all wrong, all of these years?

"Don't think Ah've met her, but then again, Ah haven't met too many senshi 'round these parts," she confessed, feeling sheepish. "Not like there's any way to keep track of 'em or anything, anyways."

“Hmm…” For as much as Julienne liked food, it was a little disconcerting finding that some sensthi just…pulled it out of nowhere like that. How…odd.

“Well, perhaps if you had a bag? Or a container to hold them? I whole heartedly agree that snacks are important, but…I don’t know, Duhr…waffles but, whatever makes you happy.” She got up and stretched, giving a massive yawn in the process. “Perhaps you might be willing to give me a place to stay for the evening? I’m sure that we could have many lovely conversations if you would like, and I would like to get to know you a bit more thoroughly.”

The cat climbed back into the senshi’s lap and rubbed her head against her, beginning to purr loudly. In all honesty, it was late and she didn’t want to bother finding her way home in the dark alone. Not when she had someone friendly here, and perhaps somewhere nice, if not dangerous, to sleep for the night.

"Can do, Miss Kitty," Duhr said without much fanfare, pushing up off her feet as she collected the large cat into her arms. There were plenty of frozen waffles back at her apartment and there was no sense in not sharin' any with the feline - especially if the poor lil gal didn't have a place to stay the night.

Large feet clomped across the pavement as she balanced the waffle in one hand, cat in the other arm and chewed on the cold, fluffy food thoughtfully. Sure, she wasn't a Derp, but she was friendly enough - and probably had a decent 'mount of answers to offer up for all of Duhr's questions, to boot.

"Ah'll make you whatever ya'd like," blonde curls nodded as the girl shifted from her fuku and into her regular clothes, which, this evening, consisted of jeans and a plain, raggedy t-shirt, "Will even share my bed, how 'bout that!"

And, just like that, Mags Butler had made a new friend... whether poor Julenne wanted one or not.
