Dris ll 1
Belpol was in full swing by mid-morning's light. Dris'rynne expected no less from the city that had housed her little family for years now. It was located on a large trade route, which brought plenty of busy to her mercenary band, as well as more bandits than she could put down in a days time.
Pay was good, which meant life was good, and maybe that was why her sister was sending their cousin southward. Talisia mentioned it in one of her letters, and honestly, Dris'rynne didn't have a problem with it. A relative of her birth father - coming south for a vacation, a trip, some sort of apprenticeship; honestly, she wasn't sure if the boy even wanted to come.
He certainly wouldn't find it 'leisurely' in Oba, not under Dris'rynne's roof, if that's what he was after.
"Keep up, Adenah," For a moment she stopped to look back, holding out a hand for her daughter to take. Ani was spending the day with Tes; technically, she had wanted both girls to stay with him, so as not to bombard the boy, but Adenah had insisted.
Stubborn little thing.

Adenah ll 4
"Let me tell him, mommy, I can!" Without even waiting for her mother to voice her displeasure at the idea, Adenah turned to look up at her cousin. She took a big breath, puffing her cheeks out wide before spewing a bunch of words all at once.
"Mommy's got a bunch of guys who do stuff for her with swords and at night, but then she comes home to daddy and Ani; Annatha is my sister. But daddy doesn't look like us - he's blue- and mommy and daddy aren't together together like some parents, but that's okay."
She didn't look up up her mother, who seemed torn on if she should put a hand over her child's mouth or ready to shrug as if "well, she's right".
"Mommy's family don't like us, so we don't get to see a lot of people, but she told us lot's 'bout Auntie Tally and now we have you!"

Adenah ll 5
"Wassa pool?" Adenah quirked her brow, pondering on the strange word. She had heard it in passing before, but never really given it much thought. If Zyphire was using it, though, then she could to! She just...didn't know how.
"Oh, I can help." Adenah moved forward and dug in her momma's bag, pulling out a wineskin. When she uncorked it, however, the only thing that bubbled to the surface was cool, crisp water. "Here, have some." She held it up to Zyphire eagerly.

Dris'rynne ll 5
"Will a cot, some maps, and a public bath house do?" Of course the last was a stretch, but she figured she'd tease him. Tes had already given her enough hell over choosing to use one before the girls had been born, and he refused to let the little ones anywhere near the type of 'hooligans' that drifted into such places.
Of course, now she saw the reason to be cautious, but still, some were very nice.
She led their way through the growing crowd, parting them as easily as if her swords had actually been drawn. Her appearance these days was enough to part a crowd, as many knew her reputation by looks alone. That was good and also worrisome; it meant that sometimes her daughters could be safer than others, and then, there were the idiots who chose to go after them to get to her...
...and now she would need to look over Zyphire as well.
"No, no, of course not. Not yet, anyway." If he were well trained and a little older...well, then things might have been a little different. "The only thing that I ask of you while you stay with us is that you either find a part time or volunteer job, something to keep you productive during the day, or that you help Teslaron, our....nanny with the girls. Any money you make will be yours to keep; I just abhor laziness and won't stand to see it in my household. Beyond that, you may do as you please, so long as it doesn't harm my girls. Enjoy the sights, travel; despite it's past Oba is a lovely land and has many opportunities for outsiders."
