The freak ice storms had passed, leaving people to find ways to chisel themselves out of buildings for days. When the regular chill returned it seemed almost normal-- Normal enough for Captain Tourmaline to venture out. She was behind on everything due to personal problems that she had let distract her from her duties to the Negaverse and she intended to remedy that. "No more distractions. Not tonight, at least."
She took to the streets of Destiny City. With her coat buttoned and warm she blended in well enough with the late night stragglers finding their way home from bars. It was just enough to take a bit of energy from one or two here or there, filling her orbs to stockpile for turning in at a later date. No trace of other chaos aligned individuals and, so far, no senshi.
Good, but no good. "Just imagine how much of a success the night could be if we bagged a senshi," she muttered, flexing her gloved fingers before running them along the concrete wall.

Remus was out and about, patrolling on his own because he needed to, and patrolling down away from the majority of the heavy crowds because he didn't want to garner too much attention. He had managed to dust one youma, lurking in an alleyway -
- but now he could feel something else. A power signature, around his own strength, coming from somewhere nearby. He would have to lure whoever it was out, though; there were people still milling about, and Remus darted from one street to the next, hoping to pull them towards him.
Come on, you.

"Gotcha." She grinned as she felt the fleeting dash of an order signature brush past. She darted quickly into a nearby alley, pulling herself up onto a fire escape so that she could take to the rooftops. Moving from roof to roof gave her the advantage of not running into anyone on the streets. It might have been easier to simply cause a scene and draw whoever it was out to her, but they seemed intent on playing cat and mouse... If they were really set on running away they would simply have to run faster.

The power signature wobbled, going slightly farther away. Remus slid into the alleyway nearest to him, gloved hands gripping the lowest bar of the fire escape, which he scrambled up with less grace than was probably befitting of someone as agile as him, but that was the beside the point.
He couldn't see them - but he could still feel the power signature, somewhere close by, somewhere within range. Remus darted along the rooftop of some sort of factory.
He thought he saw a shadow just up ahead, but it was too dark to make out, so he kept running.

She followed the signature to the factory before standing her ground, claws at the ready. "You're somewhere... I can feel you. This would go a lot better if you would just come out and die-- Senshi or Knight, whatever you are, I'm fairly certain my claws can take you down."

Laughter echoed out across the factory rooftop.
"If you think I'm going to come out just to die, you've got another think coming," said Remus, as he leapt nimbly onto the concrete somewhere behind the agent. There was a scuffling of boots as he kicked aside a piece of debris.
Then -
"Walk the Moon!"skye starrfyre Walk the Moon: Remus holds a handful of regolith in his hand and blows it towards his opponent. The regolith acts like a paralyzing agent, but not entirely, slowing them down and making them feel as though they're walking through too many layers. This effect lasts for 20 seconds, and can only be used once per battle. It lasts even less with higher powers than his.

The feeling of being slowed was unpleasant, but she let that unpleasantry push her forward. It motivated her to continue trying to move through it. Each step took twice as long-- Longer, maybe. Everything was s-- l-- o-- w-- There was no banter while time stood still. Every word would have taken that much longer. The air was thick and moving through it was like trying to wade through water with lead boots. When the effects wore off she was going to make the stupid little senshi regret his life.

Remus was stupidly satisfied at how well his magic had worked. He slid out from the shadows of the stairwell, hands tucked into his pockets, and ambled casually out in front of the woman, a gleeful look of amusement in his eyes.
"Having some trouble?" he asked innocently.

Her lips moved into a snarl, which at the rate her face was moving came out more like a grimace. Towards the end she could feel the effects of the senshi's attack starting to wear off, but she continued the act. It was easy to continue to moving slow and maybe if he bought it she'd get a better line to attack when he got arrogant. Fortunately for her, the arrogance didn't take long to show up in front of her. Her eyes gleamed as her eyes met his. There was one more moment of slow motion before she was at full force again, lunging at the senshi with a snarl. "You're mine now," she grinned wickedly, taking a swipe at him with her claws. Quote: If a scratch hits and swipes skin: A scratch from Tourmaline's 'claws' stings; more than just an average scratch would, this sting feels like burning (think hand sanitizer on a paper cut) around the location of the scratch and lasts for the duration of one post before the stinging sensation begins to fade.

He grinned wolfishly at her, because seeing the anger and the frustration on her face was endlessly amusing. Sessrumnir would have his hide if he knew that his fiance was deliberately mocking Negaverse agents - but, well, what Sessrumnir didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
Besides, Remus was doing perfectly fine for himself, he thought.
The magic, however, was wearing off, and he could feel it dwindling and then -
Like a switch had been flipped, she was running towards him, sweeping a claw towards him, and Remus darted, twisting, so that the blow didn't catch him across the chest as intended, but instead raked down the side of his right arm.
It stung like hell - Remus let out a bellow of pain and swung around, staggering, his arm feeling like it was on fire as he kicked out savagely, intending to knee her in the stomach.

"Not so arrogant now, hu-- Ooof." Captain Tourmaline took the knee to the stomach, catching his leg as she moved with it. The hit to the gut wasn't unlike the feelings that had been pummeling her lately and she embraced it, muscles tensing with the impact to try and soften it. It didn't work, simply reminding her that pain was something you either had to accept in order to get closer or work harder to avoid. Tourmaline used her hold on his leg to try and flip him back away from her, intending to toss him back onto the concrete.

The downside to being a senshi while the other was a Negaverse agent - and with a power signature about on par with his own - was that while Remus had magic to assist him, those in the Negaverse had significant advantages in terms of sheer strength.
Which meant that the Captain flipping him worked instantly and perfectly, just as she'd planned.
Remus went flying, and not in a good way, crashing down onto the concrete with a resounding smack. He gave a yell of pain, gasping as the wind was entirely knocked out of him, pain jarring up and down his entire body - except he had the smallest, quickest foresight of mind to latch onto whatever part of the captain he could reach, trying to take her down with him.

His hand grabbed her by the ankle and as she tried to kick him while he was down. Her back hit the concrete and took her breath along with whatever balance she might have had. The tumble left her disoriented enough that it took a second for her to roll over onto her stomach and push herself up into a prowl-like crouch before lunging for the senshi again. This time she charged at him with her head down and shoulders squared, pouncing like she was trying to tackle him. Assuming the blow landed she'd strike with her fists instead of her claws, expecting the metal of her knuckles to hurt just a bit more than the slash of metal-- If she could knock him out she could get his starseed and be done with it provided he didn't slow her down again.

Aue hadn't planned anything special for his patrol - the fact that he was even willing to go out more a testament to his need for survival than any actual feeling of duty - but when he powered up he felt two familiar auras nearby. He knew that chaos aura - it was Tourma - and the order one was...well, it was Hobbit, wasn't it? Aue couldn't be entirely certain but he believed he was remembering correctly...there had been a metric ******** of order auras at that meeting, after all. I hope she doesn't manage to kill him before I get there, Hobbit was decent...rare as hell for these bastards. Aue ran, running along streets still empty from the weird storms, jumping to rooftops and running there to avoid civilians that might decide to call the police about some "costumed terrorist". By the time he arrived on scene, Tourmaline had the Hobbit pinned down-- no, he knocked her onto her back! Aue couldn't help wincing - she was going to murder him. He had to interfere now. The punishment she would mete out to him later would likewise be necessary to bear. "Oi!" She was crouched to attack-- "Find someone else to screw with!" Tourmaline charged at - Remus, that's right, the Hobbit had been Remus of Regolith - and Aue felt a stab of panic. Not for his sort-of-but-not-really-friend, but because he could feel how much Tourma wanted to rip this senshi apart and he was going to put himself between them. He did the only thing he could think of, he cast while closing that final bit of distance, but he did it a little slower than he could have to give Tourma some warning. "Hobbit, watch it! Aue... Petal. Flurry!" Skye Starrfyre [Aue] Petal Flurry Aue summons a flurry of lemon blossoms that burst apart, petals flying at the enemy to cut (a la lots of tiny paper cuts) and then dissolve into lemon juice, which stings like a biatch in the fresh petal-cuts. The burning/stinging effect lasts for 20 seconds and is most effective if it hits the victim's eyes. :> Per BSSM canon, Aue can perform this attack 2x per battle.

Remus lashed out with one of his feet, trying to kick at the woman, a snarl escaping even as his head throbbed where it had come into contact with the hard rooftop. He'd managed to get both of them off of their feet, but now she was fighting like a tomcat, each one of them snarling and pushing and kicking.
Knuckles rammed into his cheek; Remus bellowed out a sound of pain, feeling the scrape of them leave a mark down the side of his face, and damn it would be hard to explain that to Michael later -
- and then a power signature flared into existence near his, vibrant and Order and -
Hobbit. He knew that nickname.
Remus kicked out as hard as he could and rolled.
