Saponite was starting to get the hang of patrolling. Although the Negaverse had high expectations for its agents, his duties so far were simple: gather energy and stop Order when he could. Patrolling was a simple way to try and do both, though depending on what he found on a patrol, he might not get a chance to do either. Truth to be told, he still didn't quite know how to fight yet (he really ought to seek out some sparring lessons), so for now he was focusing more on gathering energy.

It was late afternoon, edging towards evening, when he went out for a patrol. He'd found bus stops to be a convenient place to seek targets, so he was strolling down some less-traveled streets, seeking some waiting travelers. As he walked, he tried to stay aware of any auras in the area, Order or Chaos.

It seemed Saponite needed to work on sensing auras, because by the time he noticed the Order aura nearby, it was too close to reasonably get away from. He ended up continuing forward, hoping the individual would end up walking on by and leaving him alone.

No such luck. A senshi soon stepped out of an alleyway just ahead and walked right in his way. At least he wasn't immediately hostile, which was nice. Especially since this senshi felt stronger than him, and he doubted any sort of conflict would go well for him, even if he knew how to fight.

He smiled politely at the senshi's greeting and said, "Fine, thanks." He didn't stop walking, though he began to circle around the other man, hoping to stay out of arm's reach at least.

Saponite stopped short when the senshi moved in front of him again. Seemed there would be no walking right past him. It had probably been futile to hope he could.

Still, he tried to match the man's light tone. "Nowhere special," he answered, opting to keep his replies as short as possible. He knew better by now than to try and claim he was just out for a walk or something, but he didn't feel it was necessary to give him any information at all, not even that he was just on patrol.

That was sudden. Saponite's eyes grew wide as he realized he was being attacked, but he was so unprepared that he barely had time to start to flinch away. His sluggish response meant the punch still hit him hard in the shoulder, knocking him completely off balance. He staggered, then threw a weak punch of his own, but it was more in an effort to keep the senshi back while he regained his balance than in any hope he'd actually hit the guy.

Saponite has almost gotten himself steady again when he found another attack heading his way. This time he sort of tried to block (though he only had the barest idea of how) by turning a little and lifting his bent arm into the path of the oncoming foot. It didn't seem to help; all it meant was his elbow crashed into his side instead of the foot, and very nearly knocked the breath out of him.

This was not going well, and it seemed very likely he would get beaten up if nothing changed. He tried to sense if there were any Chaos auras nearby that might come to his aid, but there was nobody around.

Desperately he tried to swing at the senshi again, hoping that maybe his enemy would back off for a moment, long enough for Saponite to try and run.

Saponite was briefly surprised that his punch had actually managed to hurt the senshi. He didn't take long to dwell on it, though. For at least a moment or two, the guy wasn't attacking him, and that was all the chance he needed. Saponite promptly turned tail and ran as fast as he could, then ducked down the first alleyway he reached to try and lose the guy.

Saponite dashed through the city, weaving through alleyways and down less-traveled roads, not caring where he was going as long as it was away from the senshi. When he figured he was finally far away enough, he ducked down one more alley and powered down. The guy wouldn't be able to kind him now.

With his mad dash over, he slumped against one wall, gasping for breath. Even with the greater endurance powering up gave him, he was still winded and his legs weak from the effort. The only reason he didn't just slide down to sit on the ground was because the alley was full of junk, and not to mention cold. So he stayed propped against the wall for a minute or so until his pulse and breathing both slowed to more normal levels.

After all that, he didn't really feel up to patrolling any more today. He pulled out his phone to check where he was, then started making his way back home.
