Physical Description:
A barrel chested man with a bald head and a ruddy complexion. He's a little over 6 feet tall and extremely muscular. He has many scars along his arms and his face from various fights over the years, and two particularly nasty scars from the first Thread Fall on his head and along his forearms.
Due to injuries sustained during Thread Fall he has a limp that aches whenever he spends too much time on it or the weather turns cold.
Personality:
Someone who loves a good brawl and is always ready to escalate an argument into violence. He does not suffer fools or authority well and this tends to make him something of an outsider or a loose cannon in whatever group he's in.
He speaks little, but when he does talk it's usually in complaints or insults. About the only person who could weather his endless digs was his former partner, who had perfected a degree of cheerful obtuseness that would usually soften N'dus quite against his will. That is when it didn't make him want to light the man on fire.
If you can manage to make it through the brusque and thuggish exterior you'll find N'dus to be a loyal friend. Once he decides you're a part of his crew he will stick by you through thick and thin. Even if he will also taunt you and occasionally pick fights for excitement.
Even those who are not particularly close to him will find him surprisingly competent at the work of a Wingrider, and now that Thread has returned he seems willing enough to fly formation against it. He just flatly refuses to put himself under any sort of higher authority when he does it.
History:
N'dus began life in a Sea Hold being trained for the back breaking work of a sailor. He despised most of his life there, his father and he are often butting heads and his mother forever after him to shape up. He hated pretty much everyone in his Hold except a younger relative Neri whom he got along reasonably well with. Most of his family thought that the closeness of their bond was pure contrariness on his part, that he would insist on loudly and publicly embarrassing the rest of them but doting on Neri.
When he was old enough to leave, he simply set out on his own, no destination, no real skills, just the knowledge that he would not remain in his Sea Hold with his family and the other sailors.
He traveled more or less aimlessly until he was searched, by a Blue Entertainer of all things, and directed to either go to the nearest Weyr. He agreed for lack of any better ideas, and a latent fascination with dragons. His Candidacy went about as well as could be expected, he didn't make many friends but he at least completed his work and training. When he finally did Impress he was excited to finally have an ally.
Padith at first seemed to go a long way in softening his rough edges, he doted on the dragon and put a lot of effort in learning how to care for him properly.
But inevitably he learned all he needed to know for dragon care and graduated out of Weyrling stage and joined the Wings.
This is where working with people got him in trouble. While he might adore his own dragon, and have a real fondness for dragons in general, he still had little love for his fellow riders.
And the constant committee forming and work to go up the ranks disinterested him even further than doing flight training. Especially since no one in Western felt they [ the flight training ] were good for anything other than training.
He very shortly found himself half leaving half being asked to leave from the Weyr and once again wandering aimlessly. Although this time with a massive dragon in tow that he was determined to take care of.
However he was joined by a fellow rider, this one a Journeyman Harper with a Blue. The Harper seemed determine to be friends and happy for a partner in his own journey across Pern.
Mostly through cheerful obtuseness and stubbornness the Harper convinced N'dus to travel with him. The two eventually becoming close friends and even taking to exploring further abroad.
It was during one such exploration that Threadfall returned. The two were caught unawares and while their dragons had some idea of the evil they faced the two riders were completely caught off guard.
They were over water near some of the smaller isles off the Western Continent. They had been flying over water when the first spores starting falling from the Sky. While their Dragons seemed to instinctively recognize danger the two riders were unable to fully understand their danger until the first strands touched them and their dragons.
The ensuing pain building on their rising confusion created a chaotic panic. Which ultimately resulted in the Blue and his Rider plummeting towards the Sea, the Brown frantically diving after them both. When the water hit it was an excruciating experience although it was at least enough to wake N'dus from his confusion and had him frantically swimming towards his Dragon and shouting at his partner to go Between. The man however was dazed and unresponsive, forcing an increasingly pained and panicked N'dus to make towards him only to be taken Between by his own dragon.
The two ended up in a Sea Hold delirious and in pain.
It was days that seemed to flow and ebb with pain and when the two were sensible again it was discovered that they had appeared without their partners and indeed though the Coastguard searched no remains of the Blue or his rider were found.
At first N'dus was inconsolable and furious, lashing out at everyone in reach and pushing his dragon to heal too fast in an effort to go search. It was the closest to cruel the man had ever been to his closest ally and it took the dragon being re-injured for his first black rage to cool.
Even still the Dragon seems to hold a great deal of guilt for supposedly "abandoning" their friends and the two have a strained relationship.
N'dus does not truly blame Padith though, knowing the dragon had been as panicked and disoriented as himself. If anything he blames himself, Thread, and sometimes even the Weyrs or the Coastguard.
By the time the are as healed as they will get they more or less appoint themselves new members of the Coastguard as a way to continue to search for their lost partners.

He also has a slight strain on one wing and weakened forelimbs that had gotten due to hitting the water incorrectly. He has thread score, although the water and going Between aided to stop that from being too severe. But he has jagged scars across his body and is not nearly as nimble a flying as he should be.
Personality:
Padith has a sly sense of humor and a slight vanity. He loves flying and often finds amusement in watching his rider picking fights. He tends to be mistaken for being a little dim as he is somewhat sluggish when he moves which people can equate with being somewhat sluggish to think.
