There was an odd sense of accomplishment Cadmus felt he achieved upon becoming a full-fledged senshi, though it did have its drawbacks. Sure, his attacks were stronger, but he lost his speed boost, and tempering his stops took so much more effort, much to his chagrin.
In this case, he tried to chase down a captain who had just stolen a civilian's starseed, but they kept the lead by two rooftops despite his efforts. Suddenly, they teleported themselves to the left, and when Cadmus made a sharp jerk to follow them, he lost his footing on the edge of a roof and tumbled down, down, down... and safely into a pile of garbage. By the time he righted himself and rushed out to the sidewalk to find where the captain had went, they were long gone.
"Damn!" the teen cursed aloud to no one in particular. "Why'd they have to get away?!"

"Wait, who got away? Did I miss something?" Lepus had only just started her patrol, missing the earlier commotion entirely. Instead, all she saw was another senshi, one who seemed irritated about something to boot, if his cursing was any indicator. It... really wasn't any of her business what was going on, but Lepus felt particularly nosy today, and, well, maybe it was something she could assist with, and thus she approached. "Did something happen?"

"Oh? Oh, oh s**t."
Cadmus felt inclined to wash his mouth out with soap then and there, realizing how nonrestrictive he'd become with his vocabulary. Especially when he was in the company of a chibi.
The boy cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "I-it's nothing! Nothing happened at all," he said. "I was just chasing after a Negaverse agent, and they happened to get away. Nothing to worry about, I promise."
Honestly, the only one in deep trouble would be that civilian if he didn't get back their starseed pronto.
Welp, first thing's first.
"Out patrolling on your own, I'm guessing?" Cadmus said, hands to his hips now. "I remember when I used to stay out late. Fun times. Name's Cadmus, senshi of cranberries. You?"

Lepus wasn't particularly bothered by the swearing, but then again, why would she be? She'd read worse things online... not that she was supposed to have, but she'd read worse. Instead, she regarded Cadmus with a bewildered look when he dismissed the escaped Nega agent as 'nothing', but ultimately dismissed it for now, resolving to get back to that subject. "Well, yeah," Lepus said with a shrug, "Etoi's got her shows to watch, so she stayed home." Which wasn't a bad thing in itself; Lepus certainly appreciated the little cat's company, but sometimes it was better to have her stand watch back home, just in case. "I'm Lepus, chibi senshi of rabbits," she told Cadmus, "Anyways, what do you mean, 'used to'? What, are you trying to say that you're too old for that now?"

"All right, Lepus," Cadmus said with a nod, as if committing the name to memory.
He was just about to inquire again of this 'Etoi' when Lepus shot him a question first, causing him to blink. He shook his head, small laugh following.
"No, nothing like that. I used to be a chibi, like you. Only a year ago, though, haven't been doing this senshi business long. It was still really fun then, when I didn't have to be careful of anything. Didn't get into any trouble, right? Not hurt or anything?"
He leaned against the building beside him. "And Etoi, I'm guessing, is... Your patrolling partner? Good on you if it is, best not to go alone powered up. When you can, I mean."

"Kinda, I guess? Etoile's a cat, and sometimes she patrols with me" Lepus said, shrugging. It was a bit of an understatement, of course; Etoile wasn't any old cat, she was a Guardian Cat, but she figured the meaning was there. As if in afterthought, she added, "And she's not just a cat- she's my cat, for one- I made a deal with her, and now she lives with me." When Cadmus mentioned he had been a chibi only a year ago, Lepus seemed a little thoughtful. She'd been a chibi for a few years now, so the idea that you stopped being one at some point was new to her; she would have to ask Etoile about it... later. "I'm fine patrolling on my own," Lepus insisted, crossing her arms, "I mean, I'm almost thirteen- that's old enough to watch a PG-13 movie by myself!"

"So you're talking a guardian cat, yea?" Cadmus said, surprised. "I'm guessing Etoi is the same one that awakened you? And she lives with you? Sheesh, you got off better than I did when I was awakened. He just went, "Poof, there's your powers, kid! Now go be a hero!"" Cadmus motioned with his as if doing a magic trick to emphasize his words. "So then I have no reason to be worried. Good, good. Chibis are normally thrown into the fray without a foundation, so..."
He shushed up there. Honestly, he wasn't one to lecture Lepus considering he had only "grown" up a few days ago. It was definitely the pot calling the kettle black in this case.
Instead, he put his palms up as if he had nothing to hide, and said, "Hey, hey, I'm not accusing you! Thirteen is... definitely? Y-yea, definitely a responsible age." Cadmus internally winced. Is this what he sounded like before? "You can totally take down youma, yea, and you're faster than Negas! So you can do a whole lot, just... Be aware of the latter, okay? They're still rotten scum and all."

"Oh," Lepus said, realizing that Cadmus was assuming wrong, "oh no, actually, that was a different cat? His name was Pippin and I think he said I was his bunny so maybe he was collecting a team, I dunno- but I haven't seen him since then." He was a cute little cat, too, and it made Lepus a little sad at what could have been. "Etoile used to live with another senshi, actually, but she didn't like Etoi, which I think is pretty rude," she explained, thinking back, "Anyway, I told Etoi I'd buy her all the candy she wants, and so now she lives with me." A simplified version of the full story, but it had been a short story to begin with. When the former chibi told her to be careful of Negas, Lepus tilted her head thoughtfully. "I've never run into a Nega, but okay! I'll be careful," she said, with a little nod, "My magic lets me get away pretty easily though, so I'm not afraid."

"Oh! I see now, That clarifies things somewhat," Cadmus said, nodding his head. His let out a sigh to hear of Etoile's story, disheartened to hear her circumstances. "Oh man, that sucks. I mean, I know guardian cats can be, like, overzealous sometimes, but to not like her? Eugh." His smile brightened. "As least she has someone to take care of her now."
To hear his warning accepted in kind pleased him twofold. Even if it was just a bit of common sense advice, the reassurance of knowing he was listened to made him feel a little older. Only a little.
"Oh, really? What can you do?" he inquired. "I started off just firing off fruit. Like, a big avalanche of cranberries. In fact, that's all... I really can do. It's helpful if I focus it, but I still need some practice there, aha."

"I can trick people," Lepus explained, remembering the time she explained (and demonstrated) her powers to someone else. "Like... I can make them think I'm somewhere else? And they go chasing after what they think is me, but isn't- it's just a rabbit!" She declined to mention the limitations, that she had to be out of line of sight to cast, or that she had to put some distance between her target or herself. She didn't feel like getting scolded. "It's pretty fun to watch," the chibi insisted.

"Oh! That's really cool, and helpful! Definitely helpful with getting away from Negaverse agents."
He couldn't be more honest about that. He didn't want to underestimate chibis, but they were kind of vulnerable to the war. Heck, even full-fledged and he was worried. Trying to change the subject to something lighter, he said:
"Have you been to your homeworld yet?" There was a topic he was more than happy to discuss. "If you haven't, you totally should! ...If you know how, I mean."

"My homeworld?" Lepus repeated, suddenly curious, "You mean, we can do something like that?" She'd wondered about it before, but Lepus was a constellation- how did you visit a bunch of stars?

Cadmus nodded his head vigorously. "Yea, you totally can! You can get there via your senshi phone." The senshi fished his from his pocket and flashed the screen at Lepus, pointing out the home button on the front. "It's this app if you have the upgraded version of the phone. Otherwise, it's the home button on the older models."
"It's kinda weird the first time, like, woosh." Cadmus wasn't sure how to describe it any other way, and cracked a sheepish smile at the description. "I mean, it's like your body is being pulled through space. You get used to it around the second time, I guess. I've heard homeworlds are different from one another, so I can't tell you about Lepus specifically, but mine is like... all forest and really warm like spring most of the time. It used to be for farming and stuff in the past, I've discovered."

Lepus pulled out her own pink and purple smartphone to check to make sure it had the same app Cadmus was talking about, listening as he talked about his own homeworld. "For farming?" Lepus repeated, not sure how interesting a world that was full of farmers would have been. Then again, it wasn't as if she knew anything about her own world, other than that she hoped it was cool. "Hm... so how did you like... discover that?" she asked, suddenly curious, "Did someone tell you, or did you have, like, some kind of vision, or....?

Cadmus's eyes glanced to Lepus's phone, then trained his eyes back on his own. "Oh, another sensh told me," he replied. "I was a chibi at the time, and she told me that she was once a chibi too before becoming fully-fledged. Broke down everything for me on the hows and whys to being a senshi, including how to get to your homeworld. I'm not sure where she learned it from, bit since cats make the phones, maybe them?"
"But yea, just press the button or app and presto, you're there. Just, like, be careful and don't do it when others are around. Or go with a friend, probably be easier."
