Name: Lucky, formerly Troublemaker, Girl
Age: 13 Turns
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: too young to tell
Craft: basic cookcraft
Rank: Foundling, formerly Pirate Drudge
Location: Southern Isles

Physical Description:
Lucky is a small girl with a surprisingly stocky build for the amount of rations she got. She is capable of doing many hours of chores without getting too tired. Her hair is a dark mahogany brown, her eyes toffee colored and her hair a frizzy mane sheared close to her head. She has lash marks across her back and the upper parts of her thighs, and a few burns along her arms and the front part of her legs.

Personality:
Lucky is an intelligent girl, someone who is smart enough to know the injustice of her circumstance without any kind of clear way of fighting back. This leads to her being extremely passive aggressive. She would go out of her way to perform small acts of rebellion against her former captives, and still finds herself engaging in passive acts of disobedience against her new family.

She is a hard worker and while rare she does take some degree of pride in her work, normally this is in mastering a particularly difficult ship knot or recipe.

She is incredibly wary and has a difficult time relating to people in a meaningful way, her whole life she was considered property and so she tends to look at the people around her in terms of property value or masters. Even when treated decently she is often quietly suspicious and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

That being said she is someone who wants to better herself and loves learning, even when the learning is painful she still appreciates the chance to fill her mind with something other than mindless tasks.

History:

Lucky does not remember her parents or her life prior to living on the Sea. If she strains she can remember a fuzzy image of a man she assumes is her father and the smell of Herdbeasts. She knows that the man gave her way for money, she remembers traveling far from her home to the Sea. And from the Sea to the Pirate Ship that was her world for all the life she can properly remember.

She was told constantly that her father sold her because she was lazy and ungrateful. That her Pirate masters were the only people that would want her and that they had given her a life far better than anything she properly deserved.

She was put to work as soon as she could be made to lift and carry things. She was given to the care of a female drudge for a bit but as time went on she became the favorite of the ship cook. A broad man with almond skin who was forever snarling and growling at others he seemed to have a soft spot for the girl.

He took her in and showed her the basics of her craft whenever he could convince the Pirate Captain he had need for nimble hands.

When not working in the Galley she was doing any kind of menial task she could. Because she had a tendency towards quiet rebellions she was often found in the lashing post as well being punished for real or imagined slights.

When Thread returned she was lucky to be in the galley, nursing a previous beating and working under the Cooks watchful eye.

The ship was totally unprepared for Threadfall, swirled around on an unforgiving wind, and most of the crew perished first chaos that accompanied the initial fall. Those that survived that panic were often caught by the crumbling debris of their ship or the remaining fall.

The survivors clung to whatever bits of metal they could and prayed the fish didn’t finish what the devil rain from the sky had started.

The had been in the Galley when the panic first erupted helping to clean after a meal. The Cook had feared a mutiny or something and had ordered the girl to hide while the two waited it out. The ship coming apart around them however put paid to that theory and the Cook did his best to ensure the girl’s survival, ordering her away from jagged openings caused by Thread and forcing her to put smaller pans on her head ( dirty though they were ) in an effort to protect her from what would be an inevitable fall into the Sea.

The two managed to survive the initial sinking although in the confusion that followed the girl was set adrift. She was eventually rescued by members of the [ Coast Guard ] along with the rest of the survivors from her doomed ship.

While the adults were sent to local Holds to face what justice they may Lucky was kept among the sailors. At first because no one quite knew where to send her and later because she flatly refused to leave those that had rescued her and would throw violent shrill tantrums every time it was broached, then flee to the nearest corner and hide for the rest of the day.

Eventually it was determined it would be healthier for her all around to remain with the [ Coast Guard ]. At present she works mostly with their sailors doing similar work to what she did on the Pirate ship. Albeit with better care by far by the more kindhearted sailors.

Other:
Originally she was brought to be a bed toy but as she grew it was determined she would prove more useful as a general drudge.

The Cook, Jopo, was a former Cookcraft journeyman who ran into a few gambling debts and found himself indebted to the Pirates. He was kind to the girl because she reminded him of the family he left behind.
