~: History :~
The Yomi clan served in the land of Iron for generations, and were a very prominent family for their ritual services that they offered. A clan able to communicate with the souls of any living things--and able to bring peace to them, allowing their lingering spirits to pass on to the other side. They often, in the past, served as shamans or priests in a way, who would walk through battlefields and bless the souls of those who had fallen, and keep their negative energies from manifesting into evil spirits from the hate some died with in their hearts.
The Clan was very prominent and very respected, but the lords of the land of Iron were offended by them when they continued to service their enemies as well as their allies. They would bless and care for the souls of all things, not only those of their own lands. This caused the first downfall of their people, as they refused to follow the order to stop their duties to their enemies. After the clan fell from grace, Hagon Yomi, an incredibly talented member of the clan, capable of doing something most could not--absorbing the souls of the dead and placing them into the bodies of corpses, allowing him to control the dead, and creating an army that did not flinch beneath wounds or rent limbs. They fell over the land of Iron without mercy. They could not fight against them, as the only way to stop the undead was to remove the trapped souls Hagon was controlling.
The Yomi fought against their own, tooth and nail, and eventually, they were able to subdue the revolt that Hagon had began, though it left their clan weak, and few of number. The clan members who did not die, were slaughtered by the Iron leaders, to prevent anther catastrophic event, like the one that Hagon had caused. Tam Yomi, Haikyo Yomi's mother, and Gunda Yomi, his father, escaped to the land of the Rain, where they hid, as peasants, who performed healing and ritual rites for the old, troubled souls of that land. They kept their past secret, to avoid the genocide that followed their clan. It is said that more families may have escaped the Iron's wrath, but Haikyo's Mother and Father are widely considered to be the current heads of the clan, though they have not assumed the title, as to avoid any sort of spotlight on their family, until they are strong enough to avoid annihilation.

Hideaki Yomi
Hideaki was raised in a peasant family in the country of Iron. He was a lowly member of society, along with his parents. They farmed to survive, and they raised their boy as an honest, kind, young man. Hideaki grew up during a time of strife, however, and during his teenage years, he was taken from his family to become a soldier. He was taught swordsmanship, and trained rigorously in combat skills, though when he saw the battlefield the violence and destruction of his fellow man and woman disgusted him. However, he followed his orders, killing to survive. It scarred him deeply, and when he returned home to his family, he was considered a war hero, for surviving, though he was changed. Depression and self hate consumed him, until he defected from the forces he fought alongside.
He ran from his home, his parents paying the price for his desertion, as they were imprisoned for his crimes. He spent days wandering through the forests as he ran from his past--and from the bloodshed that forever stained his hands. Until, in the wilderness, he heard a choir of voices--or instruments. It was hard to discern...he heard...beauty. It was beauty incarnate. He could think of nothing else, but he was guided by the whimsical music of the forest until he reached a massive White Oak, growing among other equally sized giants. This place in the forest was old...older than anything he had ever felt.
It was here that these noises became one--clear and unison. They spoke to Hideaki of the world--of the suffering and the pain, and of the beauty and the hope. It taught him of the soul, and how to tap into its light and power, and it was in this place that Hideaki created a home. He built his home from the old and dying trees in the forest, and it was here that he began bringing wounded people back, and saving them. At first, he went to battlefields and he would take soldiers from them, nursing them back to health, regardless of allegiance. During this time, when he could not mend their wounds with his knowledge alone, a branch, dead, fell from the tree he had discovered. It was with this branch that he felt the will of Ygdrassil.
He was able to fine tune his connection to his own soul, as well as the souls of the forest and world around him. He was able to channel it through the branch, and use it to heal wounds he could have no hope of healing on his own. Soldiers who were beyond saving for any regular doctors or medical nin were healed beneath the steady hand of Hideaki. Many of them stayed, helping to create a community deep within the woods of the land of Iron. One unruly soldier, angry that his enemies shared the same place with them, attempted to attack Hideaki. When Hideaki tried to defend himself, using the sword, the blade did not strike the man down, but instead passed through him, leaving a wave of peace and understanding. The man wept for his own cruelty, and vowed to love his neighbor, regardless of their pasts. Beginning to understand the blade's power, Hideaki named it 'Kokoro no Hieon', meaning 'Inner Peace'.
It was here that Hideaki Yomi created their clan's home. They learned from him, through his bond to the world tree, Yggdrasil. The tree that was the focal point for the world's souls. A place where all was connected. Many, as time passed, came to them for healing, and for respit from the conflicts of the world--the Yomi Clan's home known for being a place of safety for all. Conflict was disallowed within the Clan's home.
As time passed, however, conflict found their home. Though it was not an enemy of the Yomi clan, but an enemy of their protector--Yggdrasil. This enemy was ages old, birthed from the very hatred and ferocity that Susanoo could not control. Amanozako descended upon their people, a strike of lightning bringing him to their home. It marred the tree, leaving a twisted, burned scar on its bark, though Hideaki fought with his life and soul on the line against Amanozako, until the demon had been turned back, though the battle left Hideaki so drained that he and Amanozako lay exhausted on the battlefield.
The demonic spirit, in all her glory, lay tired and vulnerable, but nobody--not even Yggdrasil had the power to destroy her. So, instead, she was sealed away, with Hideaki's last trickle of his own soul, he fused her essence into his clan's blood--leaving her incredibly powerful spirit, bent on the destruction of the clan that locked her away, trapped within each and every Yomi child. Their blood, mixed with hers, allows the clan members to bring forth a horrific strength, channeling the dormant energy of Amanozako.
Amanozako
Susanoo, an honorable god of Valour. He was frighteningly strong, and even more-so ferocious. His strength could shake worlds, or end them completely, and it was this strength that was called upon in the olden days, by the Uchiha Clan. A pact formed by the god, and this clan allowed their members to channel his strength in a terrifying way. Their Susanoo was impregnable and fiercely strong. However, this ferocity was also Susanoo's downfall. He could not control his rage, and it built and built within it, until there was no other way for him to continue, other than to purge himself of these horrible emotions.
Susanoo vomited out an abomination created soully of his own ferocity and anger. This abomination came to be known as Amanozako. Amanozako hated the world in which Susanoo had grown fond of. She hated everything about it, and wanted nothing more than to bring her own wrath down on the people who he so favored. At first the Uchiha clan seemed like a good outlet for her rage, but instead, she thought, there was another method. The world tree, Yggdrasil, if destroyed, would throw the souls of the world into Chaos, and the world would slowly die. This would be her ultimate vengeance.
However, when Amanozako decided to smite down Yggdrasil, she was met with something she did not expect. A man, and many followers of his, had created a home around the tree--and when she struck it, the blow was softened by a man's protective magics. Amanozako fought against this man to get closer to the tree, but the power of Yggdrasil flowed through him, and he was impossible to kill. They fought on, until both of them lay exhausted. The man was mortally wounded, and Amanozako had no more strength left to move. In their last moments of life, Hideaki placed the branch of Yggdrasil through the heart of Amanozako, connecting her soul to his own through the power of Yggdrasil, and absorbing her into his bloodline, passing it down to his descendants in order to spread her massive power--each Yomi member having a portion of her malevolence inside of them, waiting to be called on, ironically, like her maker, Susanoo.
