Seth had no idea where he was, or where he was going, other than the fact that he was flanked on either side by two men - well, rather, one man and one young man - who were dressed particularly oddly. Though, he had to admit, not quite as odd as some of the other outfits he'd seen so far.

"Vere are we going, exactly?" Seth asked conversationally of his two companions, looking as relaxed as could be for someone who'd essentially just been kidnapped. He wanted another cigarette, but something told him that smoking now would have been a bad idea. Not that he ever really cared about following rules, but one didn't get to where he was by flaunting his breaking of them.

So instead he walked, casually and simply, alongside the others, glancing around every now and then.

"This looks very strange. Vat is it called?"

It was probably pretty obvious that Jet was not in a very good mood. He was irritated that of course things would turn out this way, and embarrassed that he couldn’t manage to do anything by himself, especially in front of Aurostibite, who already had a poor opinion of him.

Just when Jet thought that maybe he would be able to show the others in the Negaverse that he really was capable and worthy of his promotion, something shitty happened and he was stuck trying to pick himself back up.

Like this corruption, for example. He tried not to look up at the man that walked beside him and Aurostibite, his hands balled into fists by his side as they made their way to the chambers of the General Kings and Queens.

“Negaspace,” he answered simply. He was not about to tell Seth that he lacked the energy needed to corrupt him.

“Do you have someone in mind?” he wondered, glancing up at the other General, wondering if he planned on going to the Queen herself, or one of the others.

Aurostibite did not have to speak to Jet to know that he was not in a particularly pleasant state of mind. The corruption had not worked, but it was through no fault of the other General's. Aurostibite had seen this happen before, and he thought he knew why the starseed had not been able to be blackened; but it could not be confirmed until they spoke to a General Sovereign to double check.

Better safe than sorry, after all.

The man - Seth - seemed remarkably relaxed for all that was going on, which was probably a positive in the entire situation. He hadn't yet tried to run, or to attack them, or to scream abduction, in spite of the fact that they'd just teleported him into the castle in Negaspace. It could still happen, of course - not that it would do much here - but something told Aurostibite that Seth wasn't the type to do such a thing.

His eyes flicked to Jet at the question.

"I believe that newer General-King, Axinite, should be able to assist us adequately," he said. "We should not bother her majesty, Laurelite, and the others are not as...well, I'm sure Axinite will be fine."

He led the way into the hall, gloved hand a firm grasp on Seth's upper arm. Behellagh had been dismissed back to the Rift, and Jet was on Seth's other side, the two of them keeping an eye. But Seth had gone quite willingly, as docile as a cat, and was looking around with interest.

They found Axinite's room within a few moments, Aurostibite lifting his fist to knock.

There was the faint sound of movement and of a box scraping across the floor. Axinite's door was not usually closed, so the fact that it was likely meant he was either doing something he did not wish others to see, or he was doing something near to the door.

In this instance, it was a bit of both.

He had installed a new bookshelf and had been loading some old files on the top shelf, however, being of only average height, he required a little extra boost. Either that or calling for a taller agent to assist him--which seemed highly inappropriate.

His close proximity to the door meant it was more time-efficient for him to simply roll down his sleeves and open the door instead of call and beckon the guest inside.

When the door opened, he smiled politely. "Hello, Generals. Aurostibite," he said, dipping his head in greeting. "Jet," he added, doing the same.

He was not oblivious to the man accompanying the two, however he was not familiar with him and asked the trio, "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Jet made a scoffing noise, as if Aurostibite really thought him that crazy to bother the Queen for something like this. He frowned at the thought of going to General-King Axinite, though. He didn’t want to seem weak in front of the General-King, especially since he had interest in being in the division he was in charge of.

“His name is Seth. We believe he would be a good candidate for recruitment,” Jet scowled in shame. The first time he tried to corrupt someone and they end up needing to bother a General-King for it. He was still debating on whether or not to just tell Aurostibite that Seth was all his. He did all the work, after all.

“I tried to do it, but I couldn’t,” he admitted, his eyes lifting up to Axinite’s, hoping he didn’t think too poorly of him for it. The only reason he’d asked Aurostibite to help him in the first place was because he knew the other man didn’t like him. Well, Jet kind if liked Axinite, so it sucked to look like a weakling, especially since he already knew he was a young General to begin with.

He paused to look up at Seth to make sure he was behaving himself. He was. Which was both a relief and a bit worrisome, but only because he didn’t know what this guy’s true motives were. Did he really want the power he was promised? Maybe he thought it was all a joke and the hands in his chest was just an illusion?

Aurostibite made an incline of his head in the direction of Axinite, a polite gesture of greeting that instinctively matched the one given to him. "General-King, thank you for seeing us. General Jet here will inform you of our need for you, if he would be so kind..?"

He remained silent throughout the explanation, and so did Seth, who seemed quite unfazed by the prospect of what was going on. There was a studious look in his eye that spoke more of a sharp curiosity than a simple attempt at pretending to be blase; hence why Aurostibite had thought him a good recruit in the first place. And if it would help to assist Jet, then, well...

"The last time I tried to corrupt someone and it didn't work, there was an underlying reason," Aurostibite said, once Jet had finished. "I was wondering if it was the same reason, so Jet had the foresight to bring it to your attention."

A little schmoozing never hurt. Besides, Aurostibite had agreed to help the other general; and that meant helping in all aspects within the Negaverse.

Axinite seem far from displeased; instead, his eyes sparkled with curiosity and intrigue. "Is that so?" he asked. It was rhetorical; he moved to stand in front of Seth and placed his hand on his chest. He asked, "May I?" Though, that too seemed to be rhetorical.

He carefully slid his hand into the male's chest, exploring the cavern and feeling for his starseed. It did not take long to find him and he raised his eyes in thought before nodding in approval.

"This is most excellent. A very good candidate, indeed, Generals." He kept his eye on Jet, on his scowl, and continued, "You have found a gem amongst starseeds, as it were. All starseeds are special, mind you. But some are different. Different from mine, from yours. This," he looked to Seth, as if explaining to him as well, "means that he is a Senshi. They are notoriously difficult to recruit, in terms of the power needed to do so. You were wise to bring him to me, thank you."

He smiled appreciatively and then returned his attention to Seth. "You are being incredibly patient, I do appreciate it."

He retracted his hand and gestured for Jet to join him. "Come here, let me show you. I want you to take his starseed in your hand, like before. You're going to try again, but this time I'm going to give you the energy, all right?"

He planted his hand on Jet's shoulder and waited patiently, already beginning to slowly channel the necessary Chaos energy into him.

It was difficult for Jet to not respond or correct Aurostibite’s claim that Jet had anything to do with it. Yes, he suspected why it wasn’t possible for him to be able to finish the corruption on his own, but Aurostibite had done all the work. And yet, he couldn’t help the faint flush from appearing on his cheeks in frustration and embarrassment that it had really been Aurostibite who directed them to Axinite. Part of him wondered if this man, Seth, would recognize that and hold it against him.

This was already off to a bad start. Especially when Axinite confirmed his suspicions. Jet grit his teeth together and lowered his eyes for a few moments, before turning to face Seth once more with renewed determination.

Senshi or not, this man was going to be a useful addition to the Negaverse, whether he liked it or not. And he was completely willing up through this point. The General-King placed a hand on his shoulder and Jet could already feel the flow of energy through him, the power he would need to complete the process. He reached forward to place his hand against Seth’s chest, and then pushed inside, gripping tightly to the starseed to pump the energy needed to give him the power Seth wanted.

Seth stood entirely still throughout Axinite's exploration of his chest, though it had to have felt rather bizarre. Aurostibite was slightly impressed, in spite of himself, considering how terribly some had taken it in the past. All Seth did was make a little sound of surprise, watching with lazy, perceptive eyes, a rush of breath escaping as the General-King's hand slid free.

"Fascinating," Seth murmured, though it seemed not to be directed to anyone in particular. Aurostibite's assumptions had been right; the man was a senshi, which meant that it had not been Jet's fault that he had not been able to corrupt the man.

Aurostibite was silent, arms folded across his chest, and Jet looked - well, a mixture of things. He suspected the other General wasn't pleased, but there was no helping that. It was not simply a one-step process, after all, to get to where he needed to be. It would take time and effort, but eventually he would get there.

Probably.

Jet's hand was in Seth's chest again, the man jerking slightly under the renewed efforts, Chaos pulsing. Aurostibite could feel it thick in the air, twisting blackly inside of Seth, though he couldn't quite discern the latter without standing exceptionally close. He waited, and was not disappointed.

The magic convulsed, twisted, and then Seth was no longer Seth.

It was fascinating, all of it, but Axinite made no comment on any of it after he started channeling the energy through to Jet. He carefully monitored the entire process and it was only when the civilian before them was something more, something better, that the magic he pushed through Jet tapered.

Awakening a Senshi in this manner was not always an easy task, but Axinite found himself standing as tall as ever. He clapped Jet on the shoulder and offered the three men a smile.

"Excellent," he praised. "You've all done very well this evening. Metallia will be proud."

He watched Jet to make sure he was all right--and the Senshi before him, as well.

"...All new agents of the Negaverse will require adequate assistance integrating into our ranks. Have you two discussed if either of you would like to oversee him, or...?"

He left the question open ended; all new agents would eventually be assigned to someone to ensure their success. Usually it was easiest to pass the task to the one who awakened them, but Axinite did not seek to impose anything on anyone if they were not up to the task.

Dark energy pulsed thick and powerful into the man’s starseed, warping him and changing him from the mere civilian he once was and into something more with long black hair and holes in his forehead and chest where his starseed remained blackened and filled with Chaos.

Jet withdrew his hand from the man’s chest once he’d changed, feeling surprisingly worn down but supposed it was because of the energy he’d just spent. A senshi. Of course this man had to be a senshi. Jet’s teeth clenched together as he looked the man over, trying to assess him without knowing what he was fully capable of doing.

He had potential. A lot of it. Even Jet couldn’t deny that. And senshi or not, Aurostibite’s help or not, he’d been the one to use his energy to unlock the power from his starseed, giving him the power he wanted. Jet would make this man a worthy agent of the negaverse. He would make sure he did not disappoint him or Metallia. Jet had come this far, he wasn’t about to fail now.

When the General-King asked if they’d discussed who would oversee him, Jet took a step forward, looking up at the corrupted senshi with eyes sharper than one would probably expect for a teenager, as if daring the man to do something that would disappoint him. But after a moment, Jet took a step back, apparently pleased with what he saw, and turned to Aurostibite and the General-King, his expression hard.

“He’s mine.”
