Orea was still trying to get used to incorporating her magic with her machinery. Simple things that she used to be able to build and figure out on her own now ended up going haywire with too much energy. She looked into this, thinking at first she just couldn't control her magic, but now, she figured she's a battery. But she still used excess magic in her creations. It was just so easy to over do it. She was always putting in way more than needed on accident. Lost in her thoughts, she stumbled upon a young Kumiho, trying to practice his own magic.

"They make it look so easy!" Yuta was frustrated, his face contorted in a frown. He was tired and tears were threatening to fall from his cheeks. After a visit back home to the village, Yuta had new resolve to become better at magic. His siblings all made it look so easy. "It's just cause they have more tails then me..." He mumbled to himself, hating his three tails from a family who mostly had at least four. They could even do advanced illusions at this point! Yuta wasn't having any luck with anything. He was just trying to add a few speckles of gold to his cheeks, but nothing was happening.

The hybrid watched from the shadows for a while. She felt like it was a bit wrong, but she was curious about the freshling Kumiho. She saw them around but hadn't really met any of them personally since she kept to herself most of the time. This kid looked like he was having a lot trouble. She felt sorry for him like she had felt for herself when she would try to have a simple build work. She weighed her options, shyness over curiosity and soon made her way to greet the child. "H-hey..." She looked around nervously. "Whatcha doing over there?"

Yuta jumped, having been broken from his focus only to have tears escape his eyes as the stranger approached. "N-nothing!" He hiccuped, trying to wipe the trail of tears from his face. He puffed up his chest, looking the older student over. "W-what are you doing here?" The Kumiho regretted saying that, since this was a big school and anyone could pretty much go anywhere, but he stood firm. "Do you go around spying on people?" He crossed his arms finally having fought back the tears. He was upset, but didn't really want to be mean to this stranger. He didn't want anyone to see him fail at practicing magic.

Orea was a little taken aback. She knew she was in the wrong for sneaking up on the freshling, but she didn't seem any harm in it. "Sorry, I was just on a walk, wondered over here and saw you. You're a Kumiho, right?" Her ears flopped at the side of her head shyly. "I-I don't go spying on people! I just happened upon you! You're not exactly hidden away... There are rooms you can go to for whatever you're doing...." She paused, looking at the kid. "What are you doing?" She was very curious since he seemed so secretive.

"....Yeah." He still got that question sometimes. "You're not gonna introduce yourself? That's rude." His tails swept behind him as he thought of how he would respond. "I'm not.... Doing anything..." He flopped himself on the ground, feeling defeated. "At least... It didn't work out." A thought came to his mind. "Do you happen to be any good at illusion? I..." He looked down at his lap, not really wanting to reveal why he was her, trying to practice in secret. "I thought it would be cool to learn and I'm having a hard time..." Yuta looked hopeful as he waited for her response.

"Oh! I'm sorry! That's very rude!" She was a little flustered at this point, hands smoothing out her skirt nervously. "M-my name is Orea! What's yours?" She offered a wide smile to the freshling. "I happen to be a hybrid! Part Imp and Baphomet if you were wondering." The more she talked the more she felt at ease. When the purple tailed Kumiho asked his question, the hybrid rubbed the back of their head shyly. She wasn't sure if she could teach anyone anything, let alone illusion. "Um... A little bit... I've looked into it. Is that what you're practicing?"

"Imp and Baphomet?" Yuta has seen all sorts of hybrids in during his time at the academy. He was getting more and more used to spotting the similarities in racial features. The blue fluff around her neck was from her imp side, no doubt. The horns and cloven hooves were probably from her Baphomet side. The young Kumiho shook his head, freeing his wondering mind. "If you would teach me anything... Like anything at all!" He was feeling a bit desperate. "I just... Would really like to know where I'm going wrong..." He mumbled, looking at his hands wondering just why it was so hard for him.

The hybrids blue eyes fluttered and her cheeks were a bit flushed. She was surprised that he wanted her help, but then again, he didn't know her too well and how reclusive she could be. She mustered up the courage to try to help out the young Kumiho. "Ok, I'll give it my best, but no promises, ok?" She nodded her head. "We should find somewhere to inside to practice. Maybe we can get one of the teachers to help you out too?" She was hopeful that the kid could do it if he tried hard enough. "Now, lemme see what we're working with, give it your best shot!"

Yuta was over the moon when Orea agreed to help. "Thank you Miss Orea!" Would it be proper to call her Miss? Like a teacher? It was only respectful, right? He was just so giddy at that moment. But when she mentioned to get a teacher involved, he hesitated for a moment. "Are you sure?" Well, hopefully she only had the best intentions even though he didn't want anyone else to see how bad he was. He tried with all his might to even get some sort of illusion to work but it just wan't helping.
Orea had told him to try very simple things, but it looked as if he had no magic at all. She mentioned something about batteries and infertility that she thought he didn't hear, but he would go look it up when he was done to see just what she was talking about.
