Sriina waded into the water, the cool current swirling between her legs and the hot sun above her head. It felt good, and it was a good day for a swim, but for Sriina it was more than that. She wasn't just out in the water for a good time. She was looking for something, She was searching it out. She was looking for the zanteer she had lost weeks ago. She thought back to the day. She was sitting on the beach as she usually liked to do in her downtime and a zanteer with blue spotting and a gray coat waddled up the sand and took her necklace she had on her blanket. What a zanteer had use for a necklace was beyond her, but she wasn’t about to let it keep it.
She circled around, her skirt floating in the saltwater and put her hand over her eyes, trying to see beyond the sun. She knew it was in here. It always was. It wasn’t the first time she had seen the zanteer in this bay and wouldn’t be the last, she was sure of it. She sunk deeper into the water, until it was almost over her shoulders before she spotted it. It was swift in the water, it’s strong tail flipping itself back and forth. It was playful. Sriina grinned and dove in after it. Through the water she could see the glimmer of the necklace in a pile of rocks. She kicked forward, racing the zanteer back to its home. With a little push of her legs she got the upper hand and reached out to snag the necklace. With a n** at her wrist the zanteer tried to protect what it thought was theirs and Sriina yelped out under the water. Damn that smarted. She broke through the water’s surface and clenched her hand around the necklace. With a smirk she swam back toward the beach, her job done here.
