Humming the tell-tale tune of the New Year, the one she had just sung loudly with friends and family mere hours ago, Harmonia meandered her way around Destiny City. The city was still very much alive and awake. People were leaving parties, confetti from the town ball drop could be found floating in the air thanks to a steady breeze, and voices echoed up and down the streets with the merry making and occasional shouts for a Happy New Year. It was a heartwarming evening, not one that anyone would expect terrors of the night to utilize, but Harmonia knew better. Youma didn't care. Prey was prey, no matter the night. So, in her own effort to keep the happiness alive of the prospect of a New Year she had set out to keep people safe.
It was during these meanderings that she felt the signature of another Senshi. And, like always, the blue, white and gold Eternal made it a point to seek out this senshi. After all, she had learned how beneficial having someone by your side could be.
Hopping from roof to roof, she kept to the darker areas so as not to be spotted by party goers below. Not that it was likely they'd look up at the precise moment to see her hurdle buildings, but she rather be cautious. There was no need to alarm anyone. Not on such a joyous night. A night that was suppose to be the start of new beginnings for everyone who believed in such things.
And Harmonia certainly did.
Finding the basic senshi wasn't difficult. Her signature worked like a faint homing beacon for the Eternal, and soon enough she found the purple and white senshi. "Hello there!" She waved with a smile. "I am actually surprised anyone else is out tonight. I thought everyone would be off celebrating." She walked up to the other girl, features bright and open. "I am Harmonia, Eternal senshi of Harmony." Harmonia was never one to wait on introductions if it could be helped. It made it a wee bit easier to get to know each other when names were at least shared.

Myrrha was exhausted. After getting up early that morning she had run around getting small errands done before resting at home. She knew that her parents were attending a New Years Party and had taken the opportunity to power up into a senshi. She had remembered this time at least to bring extra layers. It meant that she was a little bit on the bulky side but at least she was warm and comfortable. Myrrha had witnessed the ball drop from her location overlooking the crowds below. As the ball dropped Myrrha had made a promise to herself to do better in school and to put more effort into her senshi duties. It would be a fine line to balance the two but at least it was one resolution that she wanted to strive to keep.
As she turned away from the sight of the people below Myrrha could sense the energy of another senshi heading her way. Pausing for a moment Myrrha fought the urge to just leave but knowing that whomever it was coming her way would be able to sense her no matter where she went the senshi of scents remained in place.
As her visitor came into view Myrrha couldn't help but hold back a small smile at the others exuberance. She felt herself smile in return and she held out her hand in case the other girl wanted to shake it. "Hello Harmonia. I'm Myrrha, the senshi of scents. I'm just at a basic level which I think you already know."
Her gaze studied Harmonia for a moment. The other senshi seemed familiar but Myrrha wasn't too sure. Had she seen her around in other places? It was entirely possible.

Harmonia took the proofered hand and gave it a solid , but gentle shake before dropping it. "Oh! That's interesting!" She made in comment to the other senshi's sphere. "What sort of magic do you have?" she questioned, genuinely interested. After all, what sort of things could a senshi of Scent do? Maybe debilitate people with a horrible smell? Harmonia had to keep herself form chuckling at that idea. It was a good thing she wasn't ever in charge of coming up with magic ideas for anyone. Perhaps her idea of writing a fantasy novel sometimes would have to be held off. At least until she can come up with more serious ideas for things.
"Hey, nothing wrong with being a basic senshi." She remarked brightly. "Everyone has to start somewhere! Are you new to all of this or perhaps been around awhile?" The girls seemed to have been waiting for her to arrive, so Harmonia could probably safely assume that Myrrha could sense signatures rather well. Now that was a good thing, and in her opinion, one of the better things to learn right off the bat. At least she wouldn't be taken by complete surprise by someone or something that could mean her harm.
"So, how has the night been for you so far? Find any youma? I only just powered up and came out so I've not run into anything so far, which is a good thing in my book. The fewer youma out and about the better."

If Myrrha had known what Harmonia was thinking she would have been intrigued. As Harmonia shook her hand the younger girl gave her a brief smile. When asked about what sort of magic she had Myrrha gave a pregnant pause. "I guess you could say my magic increases a person's sense of smell. Think about all the scents that could be around us at this moment, my magic amplifies a person's sense of smell and that increase in the sense factor allows me the time to either get away or have it so the fight turns in my favor," here the girl paused, "but mostly I use it for running away."
Myrrha reflected for a moment before sighing and walking to the edge of the rooftop. Sitting down she turned to face Harmonia before speaking. "I guess I am still pretty new. I've only been a senshi for about a year now. It is interesting just how much of this battle went on before I was awakened. It was like I had heard things but never really understood what was happening. That has all changed now. The blinders have come off, in a way, from my eyes."
"Sorry ... I don't mean to reminisce although this is the perfect night for looking back on the year. As for youma, I haven't really seen anything tonight. I more wanted to get out of the house and make sure that everyone down there stayed safe if possible."

"Oh man! I bet that having your sense of smell being messed with in a battle could be really debilitating." Harmonia could just imagine how hard it could be to deal with an overwhelmed sense. Especially smell, considering that they lived in a city and well...things always weren't the most pleasant scented depending on where you were. "I mainly use my magic to get away as well when I am in a tight spot. You have to use what you got to survive." She smiled.
Green eyes followed Myrrha as the other senshi moved to the edge of the rooftop. The lights from below made Myrrha almost a shadow to Harmonia, but all it took was the Eternal to shift and walk a few steps towards the same edge to see the other senshi better. "What happened?" She could tell something had occurred. Something that greatly altered Myrrha's view on the war they were all in. In some way, Harmonia guessed that many had something happen to them to tear away any rose-tinted glasses they may have.
"It's alright. Reminiscing isn't a problem." She tilted her head, smiling softly. "Here's hoping that the youma keep themselves hidden away for the rest of the evening. I won't lie, ringing in the new year without having to fight would be nice."

"It would be nice if the youma stayed away tonight," Myrrha flicked her gaze down to the street below as a couple of rowdy citizens moved along the well-lit street. Perhaps she had become inured to the sight of everyone and anyone being a possible target that she liked to make sure that she kept an eye on on them until they were out of her line of sight. Realizing that she had sort of spaced out on Harmonia Myrrha once again focused on the eternal senshi. "I mean I am ready to go at a moment's notice but I don't think having multiple layers on is a good thing. Sure it keeps the cold off but moving around is a b***h."
As Harmonia inquired about what had changed her view on the war Myrrha hesitated. "I think it is a lot of things that coalesced into one main point for me. My fighting doesn't seem to be doing a lot of good. Maybe it is because I've been thrust into this battle but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at times. Does that make sense Harmonia?"
Myrrha hoped that it made some sense. The battle in the rift had opened her eyes just a little. She could have died down there and no one would have known. It made her think twice about engaging the human enemy but she would always still pound away at youma. Those creatures had nothing going for them but a swift a**-kicking.

Harmonia nodded. She could understand the sentiment of not wanting to fight or deal with even youma. It was always just a stark reminder of the war they were all thrust into.
At the mention of layers, Harmonia glanced down at herself. "Mine dont' tend to get in the way." She remarked. "But, then again, the layers are all concentrated around my tummy. So, I am pretty good with moving around." She smiled and shrugged. "I guess it's useful to wear as little as possible, but it really isn't fun in the winter." case and point was the chill that run up her spine as she brought more awareness to her lack of attire to protect her from winter's chill.
"But yea...fighting is...well it's definitely not my strong suit. I just, I don't know I don't like to hurt people if I can avoid it. I've sort of been managing to get by with either running away or, more recently, using my eternal magic but it definitely hasn't always worked. I've had to fight and, well....I really should learn to do it right." She said with a small laugh. "It's just hard to do that when my parents aren't really into the idea of me taking any classes that deal with fighting or self defense for some reason." She shrugged. "I'll have to figure that out soon."
She paused for a moment as she though of something. "Hey! Maybe we can take a class together or something! I am sure I can convince my parents to let me go if I tell them I am going to support a friend!" The excitement of the idea was evident as the girl practically bounced on her, thinking herself rather clever for the idea.tefla SO SORRY this took so long!!!
