The world was never dull for the boy with crimson eyes. Everything seemed to beg for his attention, and how could he ignore such requests? That tree? It begged him to pluck a few leaves. That rat in the alley? It begged to be cuddled! Nothing was beneath Koril to get attention and affection.
"Kyril! C'mon!" Grinning happily, Koril ran ahead of his sister toward the market. They had finally earned enough money from chores to spend on their own, and he was eager to pick out a new pillow. Or did he want a stuffed zanteer doll? Or something sweet to eat? So many choices!

It was rare that her momma let them out by themselves, but Kyril was slowly walking along after Koril towards the market. A bit wary the girl made certain to keep an eye on her brother while glancing about. "I'm comin'!" She replied quickly as she tried to rush forward so that she wouldn't loose him. The young hybrid chewed on the insides of her cheek while her brother seemed happy enough to bounce all over the place, "Let's go quickly, Kori. Momma is waitin' for us." She whispered as she moved forward to grab one of his hands.
At least her momma was nearby looking through silks. And the weather was nice..Kyril found herself smiling slightly as she glanced up. It wasn't completely clear as there were large fluffy clouds above them - just how she loved it. Not too dull with just a huge blank sky, but not dreary either.

Koril stuck out his lower lip at his sister. "Momma said we can look," he insisted, though he still took the hand reaching for him. This way, he could pull her along faster! He wanted to see so much! All of it! "Not pickin' too quick!" It had to be special, after all!
Seeing his sister's soft smile, the boy grinned as well and squeeze her hand. "Whatchya wanna get?"

Kyril pouted towards her brother before softening just a bit at his features, "Fine." She agreed before adding, "But not too long either!"
At his question the girl blinked before glancing around. She did have a few coins too due to their chores, "Hmm...maybe something ta wear?" She questioned lightly with a small smile. She did enjoy looking at those necklaces that her momma had! Or maybe even something cute, a toy to play with. Though that wouldn't be a very mature thing to buy would it?
Biting her lower lip Kyril slowly shook her head, "Let's get your thing first and I'll decide then. So whatcha wanting?"

Brow rising as the question was returned to him, Koril giggled and swung out his free arm. "All of it!" How was he supposed to choose? "Oh! Papa said we might be goin' ta see Sawgee (Sauti, silly boy wasn't paying close attention) for that special market, so I can get somethin' for the trip!" The first applicable item he saw was a stall of hoods and hats, and he plucked up a wide brimmed straw hat for a closer look. Neat!

"Oooh, right." Kyril nodded though apprehension knotted her stomach. While the girl was curious about the other countries she still was scared. What type of journey would it be to get to Sauti? Would it be easy, hard? Could something bad happen on the way?
Shaking her head free of such thoughts Kyril found herself laughing at the sight of the hat, "You should try it on!" She beamed playfully before picking up a silk scarf decorated in birds and flower design, "This is pretty too...I hear it's cold out there so we'll have to bundle up and wear furs maybe." Furs and such? When had she ever seen anyone wear that? The thought made her grin. It definitely would be cool!

Happy to see his sister perking back up, he spun to face the mirror and pulled the hat on. It was far too big for him, and he had to push the brim way up in order to see more than his legs in the mirror.
Taking the hat back off, he looked at Kyril and wrinkled his nose. Bundle up in furs? That didn't sound fun. The boy was perfectly content running around in just a pair of pants... "I hope it's not too cold," he murmured with concern as he picked up a hooded cloak that was also far too big for him. He needed a youngling stall for a youngling hat!

Kyril couldn't help laughing at the image of her brother, "Nice!" She pouted a bit when he took the hat off, "I suppose it is too big." She quipped playfully before biting her bottom lip thoughtfully, "Momma did say it had a bit , of a chill in the air there." She shook her head. She had lived in Matori her whole life so far and didn't understand the idea of cold! Usually she was too busy being warm along the shores!
Smiling as her brother continued to browse, Kyril reached over to grab his hand. "Let's try another place. Or we can get materials and see if Auntie Eura can sew us something!" Now that would be nice! Though she did see a glimmering display up ahead. What was that? She glanced towards Koril. She would let him lead the way though so she could watch over them! No telling what was out here after all...though seeing all the stalls were awfully distracting. Especially those that had shimmering gems or fun looking toys...

A chill in the air. That didn't sound fun to him. Brow rising, he looked up at the sky to ponder the suggestion. "Auntie Eura does make cool stuff!" Try another stall? Right! Pursing his lips, he looked around until he saw a stall full of stuffed animals holding brightly colored candy. Two prizes in one bundle! The stall itself was draped with brightly colored shawls to attract the eyes of the youthful, and Koril was sucked right in. The merchant behind the counter was drab in comparison to the stall, a form that would easily be forgotten...
And that was how the man wanted it. It wouldn't do to be remembered by customers and those passing by. Especially now, when he saw two particular children heading toward his stall. His eyes darted around from under the heavy brown cap for any sight of the parents, but then he smiled brightly. "Welcome, children. Many sweet treats are available here for sweeties like yourselves~"

Kyril pursed her lips as she watched her brother approaching, "Kori..." The girl reached out a hesitant hand after her brother. This stall wasn't exactly out in the open like she liked. The girl narrowed her gaze before seeing that her brother had continued on ahead, "Pick something quickly if you must." She whispered as she strode back up towards him. But the more she looked, the more worried Kyril became. Why did that strange man give her such a weird feeling? Her mamma always told her that she had good instincts and that she should follow them, "Koril..." As her brother glanced around the girl found herself taking a worried step backwards. She wanted to leave...right now. Glancing around Kyril noticed that suddenly their street seemed rather deserted. It was enough to make her heart jump and the girl took a step forward as if to rush towards her brother before a pair of strong arms had her. Immediately a hand crossed over her lips to mute any noise as she reached out towards the form of her brother in vain....

Koril was enchanted with the stall and the colorful displays. He could hear his sister's concern, and nodded. "I'll be quick, Kyky," he assured, reaching to poke the nose of a stuffed snaptrotter.
The man smiled, talking a little louder as the girl was grabbed to cover any struggle. One down...
Koril plucked up the animal and turned toward his sister. "Whatdya think, Ky-" He only just saw Kyril being pulled away, and froze. What..? "Kyril!" He dropped the toy, but was swept off of his feet. He managed a small shriek before his face was covered by a heavy hand.

Everything was a bumpy ride. Kyril found herself waking up in darkness. Very dusty darkness at that. Sneezing, the child rubbed her nose before remembering her situation. Heart jumping in her chest the girl moved her hands around until she touched someone else's hand, "Koril?" She whispered fearfully before scooting closer to a familiar form, "Hey, Kori wake up."
Where were they and why?
It was dark, but she thought she could make the outline of a wagon. So they were in one of those caravan things? Frowning, Kyril narrowed her gaze so that she could try and peer around more. It looked like they were stopped now and it was quiet outside...

Groaning heavily, Koril batted at the hand touching his own. "Not yet," he murmured sleepily. Then his sister's tone of voice caught his attention, and he blinked his eyes open. It was so dark... "Kyril?" His head hurt a little.. "What happened?" He rubbed his eye and slowly sat up, looking around the dark space.
He took his sister's hand tightly, feeling the concern taking over his curiosity. He could hear voices faintly through the darkness. Not many voices, but adult ones that were not momma or papa... "I wanna go home, Kyril. Can we?"

"I dunno." Kyril pursed her lips in protest, "Some strange men grabbed me." She crinkled her nose at the memory, "And they didn't smell so nice." If personality went by smell then these guys definitely were bad! At least that was the youngling's logic.
"Me too." Kyril nodded her head, "And we will." There was no way that she was going to stay here! She was just glad that her aunty had taught her about knots and stuff. Raising a finger to her lips, Kyril motioned with her free hand for her brother to follow after her.
There were bundles of things that she climbed over and even one that exploded in a puff of dust - seemed it was some cloth bags with straw and other random assortments. All of which nearly made Kyril sneeze, but the girl forced it back with a funny expression on her face. Not now! Slipping down over a mountain of cargo Kyril reached on tiptoe towards the door, "Kori...I may need to stand on you." She whispered quietly as she glanced up towards the door. Another thing her aunty had taught her was how knots in doors worked as well...maybe she could figure out how to get out of this one as well...

"They were stinky," he agreed. Koril crawled after his sister, fighting off sneezes of his own. He knew they had to be quiet. For once, he would try!
He held his breath when he could, wincing as every bag shifted under his hands and knees, but he kept moving forward. Not that there was really far to go; it was more about being quiet and making their way through the little maze they'd been hidden away in. Brow rising at his sister's request, he hesitated a moment before smiling. "Count on me, Kyky!" he assured in an excited whisper.
