Personality:
Growing up in High Reaches Weyr, Jynnat is well conversed in the weyr’s traditional philosophy. She agrees whole heartedly that golds and bronzes are meant to lead, and the chromatics are the followers and grunt work. The young woman fits right in well with strict rules and established authority. Some may say that she takes it a bit too far; Jynnat doesn’t understand looser structures and how they can survive at all. She doesn’t want to learn. If anyone brings it up she can be very narrow-minded at trying to understand another method than her own.

She is very smug that the other weyrs have to come to High Reaches to learn to fight thread again. However, she doesn’t much like the crowding. If lives and land weren’t at stake, she’d say let them learn through their own trial and errors as they were too stupid to keep up their training. She doesn’t think much of others visiting from other weyrs, and may offer a snub if the opportunity presents itself.

Jynnat is a smart woman, a very smart woman. Patterns are easy for her to trace and follow. Numbers are a breeze as well. She uses her intellect to be very calculating, looking for the greatest possible gain for the least amount of work. Her final goal ideally would be somebody important, although she’d settle for half way up the ladder if she had to. It would be utter humiliation to be the bottom of the bottom. To prevent this she believes having friends in high places won’t hurt. When she exerts herself, Jynnat can be very winning. She excels in debates and trying to argue her case or whatever viewpoint she supports.

She can be a little faithless, and she’s not above stretching the truth. Most of the time they are just little lies. Every once in a while she might dig herself a bit deeper. There’s no problem if she doesn’t get caught. Of course, when she does then she has to take whatever punishment comes if she can’t talk herself of out. Other than that, she’s a very easy going woman; one ready to have a good time as a dragonrider. As her time as a candidate grows shorter and shorter, Jynnat is looking for a boyfriend, or maybe a few. If she can't be a dragonrider herself, being the woman of one might be the next best thing.


History:
Jynnat was born at High Reaches Weyr. She spent most of her time among the kids at the cretches and never really interacted with her parents that she knew of. That was ok as she adopted the cretch workers as her parents and the other kids were part of her family. She was a bright child and had an aptitude for learning, thus she followed the adults around when she could or wasn't distracted by playing with the other children. When she was about 4-5 Turns, while following the adults around, Jynnat noticed that they didn't always say what they meant. In fact, she noticed that they sometimes said the exact opposite to someone when when that other person wasn't around. It confused her mightily at first, but then she figured it out. It was ok to say one thing to keep a person happy, but say what you really thought about them to someone else.

At the cretch Jynnat met her friend Reenav. She played with him often until she learned about lying. The young child couldn't understand when he got mad at her for saying one thing to him and another to another child. Their friendship soured, but they still talked on occasion. As she grew she learned more rules and generally adapted well to them, however she is still prone to telling false.

When she was 13 Turns, Jynnat was involved in quite the lie. There was a clutch due to hatch that she wanted to stand for. She couldn't understand why they would deny her before being a Turn too young. So she tried to lie to the candidatemaster about her age when the humming started; hoping to be allowed onto the Sands. Unluckily for her the candidatemaster knew hold old she really was and turned her away. Her punishment for trying to get onto the sands was severe, but didn't daunt her. They held her from Standing until she turned 15. She had to sit in the stands for any clutch during that time and she wished fervently that her dragon would come to her. Sadly she was never picked.

Jynnat was 17 and had been Standing for two turns. Being young, she had a boyfriend but wisely didn't indulge in anything that would stop her from being a candidate. She found out that her boyfriend was two-timing it with a rider while telling her that he was completely faithful to her. It hurt that someone would lie to her. Jynnat decided to take drastic measures. If he could do it, so can she. Of course she wouldn't have physical relations with a guy, but could have several she called her boyfriends.

More turns passed and she remained standing on the sands while hatchlings impressed around her. Now at 21, her old friend Reevan started to join her on the sands. At first she teased him for waiting so long to get his rump in gear. It didn't help that she still hadn't impressed despite her many turns of trying. Jynnat wondered if perhaps she would be in danger of aging out. It still seemed so far away. Looking back it was as though that thought had been a prophecy. Jynnat was only a turn away from aging out for good. Despite the worry about not becoming a dragonrider, she believed in being prepared.

The young woman checked out other crafts as a fall back just in case. She wasn't happy about having to do this as she'd thought she'd have been a dragonrider by now. Still she bit her lip and went through with it. In the end she settled on being a feline trainer. In her spare time, she started hanging out with other trainers to get in with the group. Now that she's close to aging out, she's looking for a serious relationship. If she can't be a dragonrider herself, perhaps being the woman of one would be the next best step.

Looks good to me! What an interesting Candidate. I think the only thing to keep in mind is she can't bond with a feline officially until she either quits or ages out, as having a bond with a feline would affect her ability to Impress. That's mostly an FYI.
