It was not really a surprise that Jeremiah would show up, after a text to let her know he was coming by, to see America. The only thing that was a surprise was the cane that was on his elbow as he knocked, though the familiar satchel over his shoulder said he clearly came bearing presents.

Christmas was coming up.

Of course there was more than just that that to the visit but Jeremiah had priorities where certain people were involved.

The door opened, and there's America and maybe she hasn't been sleeping enough, but maybe she took a ridiculous time putting on "natural" looking makeup to hide that and maybe her hair is fancy styled in a way that probably also took hours. The inside of the camper was decorated and utterly cheerful and very, very clean. Even Mr. Bitterberry, as he flew to Jer's shoulder, smelled like he'd taken a bath.

She beamed as he stepped in, "C'mon and get cozy. I got presents for you...well," her face scrunched down in a sort of incredulous smile, "...the other me did, but I can't say she was wrong, so I'm gonna take credit. Did you hurt your leg?"

Jeremiah looked like he was rested but possibly on edge if the slight pinch to his eyes had anything to say (but he was always dressed nice; moreso because he was dressing for himself and not for work). His head tilted towards Mister Bitterberry as he landed, smiling at America as she gestured for him to come in.

"I can say the same thing," that it had been another him (and another Alg), "though a few things were added since we returned," he chuckled softly. The cane was kept on his shoulder as he stepped inside and put it next to the door. "Ah, no. I didn't but apparently the me that I replaced did and it's seen as odd to not have it with me."

"Guess miraculous recovery n'such get more scrutiny, now," America sighed, settling in at the little table.

She pulled out her phone, glanced it and then rolled her eyes, setting it down and pulling out its twin. "The differences are more annoying, but this other me managed to make the similarities a pain too. Anyway, you wanna get a look at baby Algernon in 1969?"

"Especially given that everyone knows that I am magic," Jeremiah huffed, a hand raking through his hair. His fingers brushed against Mister Bitterberry, a knuckle smoothing feathers before he took a seat.

Of course, his focus on her was rather solid the moment she mentioned baby Algernon. "I'll spare my complaints about the differences and the similarities and say: bring forth these pictures. I need to see this."

He gets to several of Algernon at the beach, looking pensive and nicely retro in the timeless was of nerd fashion. there were a few other familiar faces around the beach, some older, some younger. Leila, Eve, Rylan, Finn, Rabbit, Ezra and Melany standing on a distant stage. Nasir and Juniper, mature and a little awkward. A blur that seemed distinctly Preacher-like. They were all taken stealthily and quickly, when she was more worried about blending in and before time reset and everything turned grim and awful.

"I overheard Shun say groovy."

1969 wasn't all bad, not until the end.

Jeremiah recognizes most of them, pausing at Ezra and Melany before he clicks and that brings out all sorts of odd feelings that he cannot place. The ones of Algernon he enjoys, however.

"... precious," he says, then chuckles a little bit (because of the inadvertent slip), "but he's so very clearly stressed out." Several of them are but Algie it's the easiest to tell. Jeremiah lets out a snort, softly glowing eyes glance back up at America. "Really? Trying to blend in?"

His flips back through the photographs, coming back to Ezra and Melany. "So it was a beach party? And these are members of the band?"

"Yeah, he managed eventually but it was a ******** treat to watch him struggle to be hip and blend in, all the while..." pointing to her face, America's expression turned sternly stoic.

"Was a concert. And yeah, I think they were a couple, they had that sorta...thing, going on. That hey baby tension." She waggled her eyebrows, unfamiliar with the both of them and any danger or concern they'd ever presented.

Jeremiah chuckled and nodded, imagining the trouble Shun had to go through to play a role like that within the sixties. His lips pressed together for a moment, not quite sure he was right about the pair.

"Did you catch their names?" Might have snorted about the hey baby tension.

"Mels, Ezra, there was Preacher and some crying girl, didn't catch her name." There's a bit of a hum and then, tapping Ezra's face with a nail, "He didn't seem effected like the rest, after the resets, pretty much him and little miss Vivian were the only ones who didn't seem to...hollow out. Even Sunny," she paused, swallowed.

"Even Sunny seemed to turn a bit odd, when she showed up."

"I thought- So it's Fa- Ezra and Melany. They are Nobles of the Court, though obviously they were not then, I think." At the mention of Sunny, the way she swallowed, Jeremiah reached out with his hand and closed it around hers.

For a moment there was a brief feeling of affection and understanding but it faded away as he squeezed her fingers lightly. "It was breaking and they were memories, that's likely why, and those who didn't might have been far more strongly tied to the magic."

Though he frowned lightly at the mention of Sunny, worried still even after everything.

America made a face at Nobles of the Court. Even if Jeremiah was one now, and Thorne had seemed okay, they still couldn't redeem the existence of the Court, she still didn't understand why it existed, why it was tolerated. Or was it?

"Is the Noble stuff still a thing?"

"So far as I'm aware, though I've not run into any of the others. Not Ezra and Melany," he said quietly, mostly because of the face that she made.

"Though I have been talking with some the othercreatures that come to the Court. Alg and I dealt with, ah, a Mister Owl before things shifted. He wanted to go to Disney World."

She made an ugh sound at the affirmative, and then gave him an almost apologetic, not you look. Her expression softened with amusement soon enough, though. "I hope he had fun. Maybe he went here, too."

The girl flopped back dramatically in her seat with a sigh. "I haven't gone over much since coming back. Just a quick look or two really. I've got..." another face, "...school to catch up on. Have things been quiet?"

"Actually, we got him Mickey Mouse ears and a couple other things because we were worried about him going there unsupervised." Though now Jeremiah was thinking about some kind of trip that involved Alg and himself escorting other creatures to Disney World.

Would America help with that? Probably.

"I've been over little myself. The weather is stable, there's nothing that seems different but I've yet to really explore because of work." A small huff. "I apparently became Chief of Police far earlier this time around." Though he raised an eyebrow. "School?"
