It was strange to think that almost a year ago her life had changed. Myrrha had seen a lot in that short period of time and yet there was always things that she was intrigued with whenever she emerged as Sailor Myrrha. Just roaming the roof tops or the alleyways as her powered self was amazing. Myrrha had yet to find a stable patrol partner and that was something that she had learned from Maia was a good idea. Patrolling alone usually led to trouble for the teen. It was with good intent that Myrrha did her job as dutifully as she did but sometimes she longed for just someone to talk with and bounce ideas off of or for someone who could watch her back.
Myrrha knew that by powering up she was announcing her presence to those of order and chaos but she needed to do her duty to the city that she called home. There was always a small voice in her mind to constantly check her surroundings when out in the open. As she scanned the streets below her Myrrha sighed. Would she not feel one of her kind or enemy before seeing them?
Thinking of this point usually made the senshi more self-conscious than was really necessary to be but she continuously doubted her abilities. Strolling across the roof top that she now occupied Myrrha longed for someone to talk with. She had a lot of free time on her hands as her parents were out of town for the weekend.

Another night, another time powering up to stroll the alien rooftops , seeking a pattern and a rhythm, looking for a place to settle in and make her own. She'd met knights, of course, but for all her return she'd not come across a single negaverse agent; only one youma, and one other senshi. Maybe it really was the winter? Maybe they just ducked away from an Eternal's power signature and tried to avoid fighting? Or maybe there were precious few of them left to fight? Tonight she had elected to wear comfy woolen leggings; custom made, they matched her senshi cell phone, with little monocled squid and octopus. A recent addition, they served to keep her legs warm, at least, though they hardly matched her shoes, and left her painted toes quite vulnerable to the frost. The bright red Burberry coat wrapped around her almost hid her fuku from view, but it couldn't hide the aura of her power. Her mind was troubled, as it had been in the nights since she had given Scholomance advice. He was off finding a martyr to make, and she was letting him. Her finger had hovered over the button to dial Zia, or Elke, someone who had once stood as a guide for her conscience, so many times. But if she dialed, and there was no response, she wouldn't have been able to handle it. Her finger had hovered over Elzo's phone number, Europa's contact... but she still hadn't called. Hadn't tried to spread a warning. Silence damned her, and drove her mad with the uncertainty of it. Why hadn't she pushed harder? Why hadn't she made him take her, instead of letting him wander off, prowling through the army of children seeking a victim. Maybe... he wouldn't find anyone. Maybe he would come to her for help after all. Scylla barely noticed the signal of another senshi; it startled her, the feeling of another's aura, and froze her middle with uncertainty. But, perhaps, this time it would be her asking for advice. Slowly, she made her way across the rooftops in the direction of the other signature.

The only downside of her outfit was that it left a lot to try and cover up in the winter air. How did she keep managing to forget to bring a coat along for nights when she was patrolling longer than usual? Chuckling softly, more to herself than anything, Myrrha could only imagine the looks she would get had she tried to go street side and get herself a nice cup of hot chocolate to keep warm. That would be folly. Not everyone saw the senshi in a good light. Myrrha sighed before pausing with uncertainty. She could always power down and go get a drink as a civilian before going back on a shorter patrol.
As she was testing that theory in her mind Myrrha felt an energy signature bloom up nearby and she tensed before recognizing the aura of order. It felt similar to Maia's energy. Was she about to get company?
Turning to face the direction that the order aura was coming from Myrrha waited with patience before briskly rubbing at her bare arms. She needed a better system of doing things. Her legs protested but the teen set her mind to ignore the cold as she awaited the visitor.

Well, the other signature wasn't moving. There was at least that much of a gift, this late at night. Scylla wouldn't have chased the signature down had it moved to avoid her. But eventually, she found herself staring across the rooftop at one of the few senshi she'd seen since her return to Destiny City. "Good evening," she called cautiously. s**t, they just kept getting younger and younger. The senshi had children as their champions- Jada herself not really an exception, though she was 24 now. The other senshi was rubbing their arms- cold, perhaps? Why hadn't they brought a coat? It was the middle of winter! Scylla stepped closer, coat wrapped securely around her, keeping her warm. "Everything okay?"

At first Myrrha could only continue to rub briskly at her arms as her visitor came into sight. The senshi of scents dropped her arms to her side as she got her look at yet another one of those that stood on her side of the battle. Ignoring the cold air that circulated around her Myrrha resisted the urge to continue rubbing at her exposed skin. It would not make a good first impression on the woman that stood before her. Taking into account the attire that her visitor wore Myrrha once again wondered how it was that she had forgotten her coat. It was a lesson learned. At being addressed Myrrha realized she'd been staring in silence. Correcting that oversight the teen grimaced. "Hello there. Things are fine," Dropping the pretense Myrrha sighed. "Well, truthfully I guess things could be better. Seems I forgot something that was sorely needed tonight, my brain."
The reply was more or less a chance to inject a little bit of humor into the situation. She knew that she had made a big time mistake in not being prepared and she was paying the consequences.

The younger senshi was rubbing her arms briskly, and while Scylla was cold, she also had some ideas on how she could fix it, later. Not to mention, her car wasn't car down the street. The teen grimaced, and Scylla felt herself smile, pulling off her bright red coat. "Here," she told the girl, "You can borrow my brain for a little while." violet eyes twinkled with humor. "I'll manage, and you look like you could use some warming up." It was a bit chilly, but Scylla moved around, seeking a warmer spot. "You're one of the first senshi I've met so far this winter. Is it because there aren't many of us wandering about, or because they're in hiding from the cold?" Scylla tugged her black curls towards the front of her body, in front of her chest, to use them for a little extra insulation. Nope- the back needed it more. Whatever magic had thought to give her a halter top for a uniform-- she needed to have words with them someday. "I'm Scylla," she told the other woman with a small smile, hopefully hiding her discomfort at the chill fairly well. Maybe they would be able to find a roof or something with an exhaust, for a little extra warmth? On the other hand, she didn't want to wander too far. Though there was a coffee place she could power down and go to in an emergency afterwards...

As the other senshi shrugged out of her coat Myrrha cast her gaze to the roof before stepping forward to accept the offering of some added warmth. Slipping into the garment brought instant warmth from not just the material but also whatever body heat had been generated from the stranger. Myrrha hugged the coat tightly to herself before loosening the grip. She would eventually have to give it back though. She gave the other woman a genuine smile as she briefly rubbed the coat sleeves. "Thank you," she plucked at the coat's sleeve before continuing, "This wasn't necessary but I definitely appreciate the gesture of goodwill."
It almost bothered Myrrha to see that the cold air now was possibly bothering the other woman. She paused to listen to the question posed of her and she shook her head. "I honestly don't know. It could be a bit of both. I've not been part of the big picture that long. I would hope that there are more of us out and about, doing what needs to be done. I feel like I still have lots to learn. Maybe remembering seasonal attire is one area I failed in," she tapered off as she focused on gaining warmth from the coat.
As Scylla introduced herself Myrrha gave a crooked grin. "It's nice to meet you Scylla. I'm Myrrha."

"Maybe not necessary," Scylla said with a smile, "But it is terribly cold out. We need to take care of each other." she gazed down from the roof, considering the ground below, the passerby, the quiet windows. "How long have you been a senshi, Myrrha?" her question was punctuated with a laugh. The other senshi, with her long, bare legs, didn't bear any of the trademark signs of being incredibly experienced, or being what they called Super just yet. It didn't mean she wasn't experienced, but it could put her at less than a year on the job, making cold weather the least of her lessons so far. Turning bright violet eyes on the other senshi, she gave her an honest, open smile. "There's more to learn every day, and cold weather survival will be something I guarantee you won't forget next winter. And probably not again this one." she crossed one foot over the other, considering. "What kinds of things do you feel you have left to learn? I'm not a very good senshi, but maybe I can help a little?"

Myrrha gave Scylla a sheepish grin. She had known that the night would be colder than normal and still in her rush to get out of the house she had forgotten the most important thing. At least Scylla was correct in saying that the senshi needed to look out for each other. Letting the warmth from the coat saturate into her skin Myrrha heard the question that was posed to her and she gave a sigh. "I've been a senshi now for just over a year I think. I know that last winter it was my first after being awakened. I didn't go out much back then as I was also trying to appease my parents by putting effort into school. I would go out mostly for a few hours on the weekend but that was all. Since then though I've been trying to get out more and more in order to just get used to everything again."
Thinking back on the past year Myrrha realized that she had aged as a senshi along with just adding another year to her life. She'd gone into the Rift at the behest of someone else. She hadn't been alone though. "I think that is true. I am still learning new things every day. I still find myself accessing the primer."
Pausing Myrrha glanced up to the clear sky. From what she read she couldn't quite go to her home world just yet but perhaps it would be soon. It would definitely be an interesting moment in time when it came. Thinking more about it she sighed. "I think that I've got a good grasp on most things. Space travel is one of the things that I could use some more info on," pausing Myrrha looked sheepish for a moment, "and is it true that only a Guardian cat can sense when you are ready to go to the next level?"

Just over a year- so older, perhaps, but one winter wasn't bad. Sometimes it was easy to forget the fuku didn't come with magical insulation. She let the smile drain slowly, shifting to consider. "That is a good choice, focusing on education. I mean... We won't be fighting forever, and we can't..." there were no guarantees. There never were. "It is better to use your presented opportunities. Don't leave room for regrets." Scylla didn't access the primer like she probably could, to get back into the 'swing' of things. She learned by leaping before she looked, because seven years ago... That was how she had been awakened. There hadn't been a tool like that for her to learn from, and the enemies had been different. More frantic, less organized, less supported by the ever-growing power of chaos. "Good," she said with a smile. "Keep using what you have." the other girl gave a sigh, and Jada tilted her head, dark hair spilling over her blue collar. Space travel. "It is fun," she told Myrrha with some excitement; "Getting to learn about who you were? Seeing a whole new world, learning more about the breadth of your power." and yourself. "Scylla was beautiful," she said wistfully, "and one day it would be wonderful to see it that way again." trees and plants, the ocean sparkling in the sun or gleaming inky black in the bioluminescence of the floating landmasses. "As for the Guardian Cats, last I heard that was true. But things change every day, and more and more oddities come to bear. Whole new powers. Who knows what we will find out next?"

Myrrha listened carefully to Scylla's responses. It seemed that the older senshi really had a lot of knowledge that Myrrha would have loved to possess. As it was she was still in high school. There would be a lot of time for studying and fighting evil, wouldn't there? From the breadth of Scylla's reply it began to sound like balancing the two would become a fine line that she'd have to decide whether or not to cross when the time came. It wasn't like she could just hang up the white hat she had donned though.
As the conversation shifted to space travel Myrrha felt a small amount of apprehension. It was true that she had learned through the primer about space travel but she was hesitant to even step foot on her homeworld. What if she didn't like what she found out there? Would the question of the unknown loom over her head? Looking down at her feet before peering at the sky had Myrrha doubting herself.
Perhaps it was the warmth of Scylla's coat or perhaps something else, but something this night had done its job well. Myrrha no longer felt the bite of the cold air around her. Perhaps it Scylla herself that had helped to bolster Myrrha's spirit? If someone like Scylla could do the job then maybe she wasn't such a lost cause yet. Rubbing her arms one last time to capture any lingering trace of warmth Myrrha shrugged out of the coat and closed the distance between herself and the eternal senshi. "I really want to thank you, not just for lending me your coat, but also for the conversation."

Jada had to wonder.... Just how old and tired did she sound to the other senshi? Jaded? Without hope? Or optimistic for a future that may possibly never come to pass? Or maybe it was just Scylla herself who wondered. Myrrha listened attentively enough, even though the senshi of the Kraken felt like she was offering... The tip of an iceberg. So many things to say. The other senshi glanced at her feet, then the sky, and Scylla smiled. "Have you gone to someone else's planet?" she mildly inquired. "I will be going in a few days, and I don't mind people tagging along. It is fairly safe, if you don't mind getting wet." Her coat was presented back to her, and Scylla have Myrrha a wide, genuine smile. "Of course," she said simply. "Anytime. We have to stick together. If you need me, you can..." Scylla waved her hands, giving Myrrha a smile clearly meant to tease, "do whatever you whippersnapping senshi do these days with your magical gizmos. I don't have a regular patrol route, so I am always willing to meet up."

As if sensing the question that was posed to her about space travel Myrrha shook her head in response. "I've never been to anyone's homeworld. The closest I've come to any space travel is being yanked to the moon, sort of against my will, but I appreciated the gesture nonetheless. I've yet to step foot on my homeworld. Is it too cowardly to admit that I'm scared for what I might find?"
The offer of tagging along with Scylla on her next visit to her own home world was not expected. The expression of shock spoke to Myrrha's astonishment. Probably less than a minute of thought went to the deciding factor before Myrrha's quick reply, "Can I? I would love to come with you."
Thinking about the possible trip had a chuckle escaping before Myrrha could even contain it at Scylla's last words. From what she had read from the primer if she ever needed to get a senshi's info all she had to do was take a picture with her phone and it would register Scylla's information for future use. The offer of a patrol partner was a generous one. Myrrha had been looking for someone that she could learn from while on patrol. "I think all I need to do is take a picture but I can easily make you a contact in my phone Scylla. We could trade contact information though so the offer swings both ways."

Scylla smiled warmly, pulling out her cell phone when the younger senshi answered. "We'll have to schedule something," she said lightly, eyes crinkling. "It isn't cowardly, Myrrha. I'm sure that not everyone has peaceful homeworlds. I'm sure a lot of them could eve be downright spooky. But you can always take company, if you don't want to go alone. I can show you Scylla, first, though." Maybe it would help. "Is there a certain day that works best for you?" She poked around on her phone, then lifted it like she was going to take a picture. Was- ah. So that was, actually, how it worked on these phones too. "Anytime I am around. I only have a couple nights a week I don't come for an 'evening walk'," Scylla made the air quotes, giving a wry smile, "and I use to know a couple places you could huddle for a quick boost of warmth, next time you forget your coat."

Infinities We could almost call this finished? Myrrha had been grinning when Scylla snapped her picture. Thw prospect of being able to tag along to Scylla would be a learning experience for the basic senshi. Just maybe, after she took the trip, would she be able to gather up the courage to go to her home world. Whether or not she would go first by herself or not would still remain a mystery until that time. She had also been thinking about Scylla's question about what day of the week would work well for a visit. She figured the best night of the week would either be Friday or Saturday as to appease her folks that she was still putting a lot of effort into her schoolwork.
"I think that Friday evening or Saturday would work best for myself. The weekend is when my parents loosen up and just allow me the freedom to do what I want to do."
Myrrha gave Scylla a bit of a crooked grin. "They mean well but sneaking out to patrol is hard when trying to 'fool' them that I'm doing homework. Hopefully next time I will remember my coat. But I'd love to meet up and learn of these spots that you speak of."
