“And Aid is letting me wear the bear jacket!” blonde ringlets poked out from under the brown hood, the bear-shaped ears on top waggling side to side as she pranced behind her brother. “We traded. We'll give them all back.”
It was a bright and early Monday morning, and Jada had promised to take them to her favorite place in Destiny City. The house was starting to sound of life, and in the kitchen, the chef was making herself at home. There would be cookies ready, when they returned. "Alright, you little rascals," she told them, and leaned down to swing them up, one in each arm. "We've got to get your coats on. Coats and mittens, because you're not allowed to get sick."
Bundled and warm, they eventually made their way to the Destiny City public library. It was clear to see the twins' disappointment as they entered the building, peering around. "There's nothing in here but books," Giulia complained, shaking her bear-topped head. "How is this your favorite place?"
Jada laughed, and led the way towards the front, keeping an eye out for- ah, yes. There he was. "Anthony-darling," she said in a teasing drawl, leaning against the desk to greet someone she hadn't seen much of since she was a fresh-faced teenager; "Such a pleasure to see you still guarding the desk."
Behind her, two five year old children eyed him suspiciously. "Have you heard of Anthony Darling?"
"Wasn't he in Peter Pan?"
"No, that was... John Michael?"
"Montgomery?"
"Darling."
Jada ignored them, beaming at the older man.
