Welcome to the deserts of the world! Here, expect to run into sand, sand, and even more sand! Before you begin, I have a couple reminders: Everyone in the party is allowed to post for roleplaying purposes; however, only the party leader may roll the dice. Do not roll again until a Crew Member has confirmed and told you with the outcome of your roll. We will Quote you here. Once the encounter is over, you may roll again. After the six hour mark, your party will either be forced to return to the kingdom, or you may set up camp and possibly spark an enemy encounter. The longer you stay in the forests, the greater the risk but also the reward. If you think you may have a hard time with the next roll or wish to turn back, you may do so at any time. Thank you so much time, and we wish you the best of luck!

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. It's not because I don't want to, but because it's best if I don't." ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Upon waking up from his horrible nightmare, Rowan began to contemplate what he had been dreaming about. Everyone he held dear to him were surrounding him and clapping, celebrating his return to the world. There were no secrets, nothing holding him back, and he and Blake were actually pretty happy as they celebrated his survival. He remembered it so clearly, picking up his sister and hugging her, just happy that he could be with her again. Blake was asking to be his Mage, talking about being a poor consolation for the Mage he truly wanted. Ian, however, merely stated that she was not some consolation, and that she should stop talking like that. She should have more confidence in herself and see how great she was. The dream... it was so surreal and... he liked it. The world he was in... he did not want to leave it. That was why, when he woke up, he felt so heartbroken as he looked around the camp. The feelings that were welling up in him at the time threatened to explode and send him into a fit of rage... absolute anger. Rowan, however, did not succumb to these base emotions and held his anger in. There was no point in making a fuss first thing in the morning.
After calming himself down, the young man had decided to get everything in the camp together before he tried to wake up Alistair, giving the old man as much rest as he possibly could. "C'mon, get up. We're going into that sand-filled place today. And if we find some water, we can send a message to Blake while we're traveling." After Rowan had made sure Alistair was awake, he walked over to the bear and patted him on the side. "Alright now, we're going to be heading out now. Alistair seemed like he wasn't doing so good when he walked into that place yesterday, and you seem like you've had some trouble since you got to the forest. I want you to wait here for us, and we'll be back for you. Don't worry, we won't be gone long." Rowan stated to the bear, the creature seemingly understanding what he was saying to it. Just be safe while I'm gone. He thought to himself, seeing the bear as the first real creature he had come to care for. The dog did not matter to him, and the snake was a bit strange. So, hoisting their bags up, Rowan set out with Alistair into the desert with the bear barking at them as the walked away.
After about an hour of searching, Rowan discovered a box in the sand that was full of candles. Inside of it was a note that told someone to meet them in another place, which only served to confused the young man as he stared at the note. "Meet them? How are you supposed to meet someone in this wasteland of sand!?" Rowan shouted angrily, upset that such an absurd note had been stashed in the box. Despite the fact that Alistair had been complaining yesterday, Rowan felt absolutely comfortable out here in the desert. "I don't see why you were so uncomfortable last night. This place actually doesn't feel too bad. Which is surprising. I figured all this exposure would boil us alive if we were out in it." Rowan commented, finding it a bit strange that the desert was not as hot as Alistair had said it was. "Anyway, this is nothing but trash, but maybe we can get a few gold for these candles. If this box is laying here, that probably means whoever owned them isn't with us anymore." Rowan stated, seeing the grim side of things rather than the positives. Whatever the case was, the two of them had some sort of clue where to head next in this horrible place.

Rowan was stunned by the sight he was met with when they reached the destination that had been specified, or at least what he believed to be that destination. Everything was sand around here, and it was difficult to distinguish one area from the next. All of it was yellow, orange, or brown, and it was all so very confusing. Rowan, after a while, had almost decided to stop paying attention to where he was going and just roll with it. After all, every direction that they walked in seemed to be exactly the same with only very minor differences. There was a rock here, a rock there. Nothing of too much importance. Now, however, he was looking at two gnomes standing over a dead body, bickering at each other. Looking at the two of them, he almost felt kind of sorry for them. There was no way the two of them could stand up to him, and as such they were doomed to lost the fight that was about to occur. Rubbing the back of his neck, Rowan simply approached the gnomes with a less-than-happy look on his face. "Two gnomes, huh. Guess it's time to toss you guys around."
After about five minutes of juggling the gnomes around with his fists, Rowan watched as the two of them ran off in opposite directions, screaming and cursing at him all the while. The two of them were bloodied, bruised, and probably rethinking spending too much time around their victim's body again. They, however, had merely been unfortunate that Rowan had learned about this little meeting place from the box of candles in the sand. Had he not found that box, he probably would not have even caused the two of them any grief. His reward for fighting them, a measly set of flint and steel. Looking at it, the young man simply sighed in disappointment. "I thought this place might just look like it had nothing to offer. All that's here is people's leftover junk that they don't want anymore. I... I'm not sure it's even worth staying in this place." Rowan muttered, looking down at the useless items. Not only had they been walking miles without even looking like they had covered any distance at all, the two of them were finding people's leftover trash. "I guess we should try and make a day out of it though. We need to be as thorough with this place as the mountains." Rowan stated as he tried his best to cover the body with sand so that it was at least somewhat protected from the elements and creatures. It was probably best not to try and spend too much time out in the open without moving, however, so he felt satisfied after he had buried it in about three feet of sand. "Let's get going."

Good and bad! You got Low Level Treasure and Very Low Level Encounter! The +1 from your roll that exceeded the maximum will be transferred to the FIRST roll on your next turn! For now, there's some things for you to deal with!
As you walk across the sands, two gnomes are bickering with one another. If you're able to hear, it sounds like they're screaming with each other about what to do with the body they're standing over. If you fight them and win, you'll find some Flint and Steel! Perfect for fires!

After traveling for what felt like thirty or so minutes, Rowan finally came across something in the vast wasteland they were walking across. It was a group of bandits.... fighting a group of hyenas. The two of them seemed to have stumbled across these two groups in the middle of a fight of sorts. Perhaps they had been preparing to ambush anyone who had shown up. What showed up, however, was apparently hyenas. Watching the two of them, Rowan was struck with a sudden though, one that made him smirk slightly. It was always trouble when he was smiling. Watching them, he moved to the side and simply observed the havoc that as going on. "Let's just watch them thin out each others' numbers a bit. It won't take long. Plus, it'll be a lot easier than trying to fight ten of them." Rowan explained to Alistair, watching the two groups of fighters very closely. It did not take too long for the two groups to thin out a bit, hyenas ganging up on individual bandits from time to time and the bandits jumping the hyenas. By the end of it, there were only three bandits and two hyenas left.
"Alright, let's get going. This is going to be really simple." Rowan stated, dashing forth as quickly as he could towards his targets. Before the first one even had time to turn around, he smashed his hand into one of the bandits faces, his fist also punching the guy next to the other bandit square in the jaw. Both of them were knocked out by the force of the Knight's punch and how sturdy the demonic arm was. Almost instantly, a hyena jumped at him in an attempt to tear him limb from limb... yet it was only met with his blade, the steel cutting through it in two places at once. After it was killed, he quickly moved out of the way of the final bandit trying to stab him with a sword. Taking the man's face into his hand, he slammed the man's skull into the ground and knocked him out instantly. "Sleep tight... and hope nothing else comes by while you're out." Rowan stated, turning around to face the final hyena. "C'mon boy." At that, they Hyena jumped at him and tried to rip his throat out. Rowan, however, merely caught the creature and snapped its neck, making the deserts a little safer.
"Alright then, let's see what these bandits have." He muttered, searching the bandits for whatever they may have stolen on their journey through the desert. What he found was some sort of wand... which was a pretty useless item. "Eh... Blake might want it. It'd make a good nick-knack I suppose." Rowan muttered, tossing the want into one of the bags that he had been hoisting around. He then proceeded to skin whatever hyenas did not have ruined pelts. "Every little bit of money counts for something." He stated as he finished putting away the pelts he had managed to collect from them. They were not the best, as he was not an expert at it, but they would suffice for some gold. "Alright, Alistair, let's get going before any more hyenas show up... or these guys wake up. I really don't want to deal with them after what just happened." Rowan informed the older man, starting to walk off from the group of unconscious men that were laying on the ground. "Whatever happens to them will just be karma. Don't worry about them." He stated to Alistair, trying to put the man at ease slightly.

Oh no! Low roll! Bandits and encounter!
Travelling through the desert, you would have come across a group of bandits, ready to mess with any traveler waiting for them; however, they were currently facing another enemy: a pack of five hyenas. Each bandit had their own. If you 're able to take these guys out, you'll get a high level treasure!

≎ 𝕬listair 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓚⓝⓘⓖⓗⓣ He hated this place. Alistair wanted nothing more than to return home at this point. His coat was off, revealing a fitted black tank, there was sand in his everything, his hair was up in a loose clip, and he was drenched in sweat. What the hell was wrong with this kid? Was he immune to heat or something? Whatever the reasoning, it pissed Alistair off. This was making him extremely impatient. His mind went back to this morning when Rowan had mentioned sending out another message if they found a body of water. They hadn't seen any water. In fact, they hadn't even seen a sign of water. There was little to not plant life, and the only thing one could see for miles was sand and sun. It was getting to him. All they had seen so far was a box of candles and some gnomes that he'd considered slaughtering. For a moment, just a moment, Alistair had hope when Rowan considered not even bothering with this place any longer. That was short lived, seeing as he believed they should be more thorough. Through all this, Alistair stayed silent. If he said a single word, he might end up regretting his choices.
The mountains were easy compared to this. They'd had more clothes, put them on, but he was getting low on his layers, and exposing too much skin to this sun felt like a bad idea to him. That was when they came upon the bandits. Alistair watched the seen play out, literally stewing before the kid joined the fray. After taking out the enemies, he found some wand and skinned the hyenas. "I really don't give a damn. They can rot in this hell hole for all I care," the man muttered as he turned away from the unconscious men. He'd realized that he just about snapped at the kid after a moment. "Ergh...sorry, Rowan. The heat's getting to me. Let's just keep moving." Before I shrivel and die...I hate this place.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. After about thirty minutes of traveling, Rowan was starting to feel as though the two of them had gotten lost. There was nothing in sight, and he was pretty sure he had passed the same rock at least twice now. Just great... they were lost in the middle of a place that looked exactly the same no matter where the two of them went. Alistair's right. This place is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure how much of this I can handle. I'm just glad we're here for a day only. Rowan was not phased at all by Alistair's moody response, being used to people snapping at him or getting incredibly upset with him due to his attitude. As such, he had built up a mental tolerance for such things and often ignored them. "Let's try and find a way to some water before you go too insane old man." Rowan stated, watching the man carefully. For some odd reason, the man seemed to be in a very, very detrimental state. He was sweating and seemed as if he was going to drop dead at any moment. Just why did Rowan not seemed to be acting in the same way? Could it have to do with his affinity?
Either way, after another twenty minutes of walking or so, Rowan came across a hunting bow lying in the sand, something that he was not at all pleased with. "Well... I guess we have two of these now and only one arrow. The other one looks way better than this one though. At least it's not some useless junk like it has been the last few times now though." Rowan muttered the last part of his sentence, not wanting to show too much regret in his choice to come to the desert. He was not suffering nearly half as much as Alistair was, yet the old man seemed to not be complaining hardly at all. Sure, he was snapping pretty easily and being rather grumpy, yet Rowan saw that as something that should be pretty normal. After all, Rowan was always full of snarky comments and never seemed to be enjoying any of the activities that he was partaking in. What harm could Alistair showing his discontent have in this situation. "Let's just hope this is a sign that we're going to be finding something decent pretty soon." Rowan stated, content with what they had found for now.

Oh wow! What luck! Base and a High-Level Dungeon!
Going through this dungeon will take the next hour of your adventure; however, it will yield a Max Level item. The enemies within are pretty strong, so watch your back. The dungeon is full of mummies with a mummy cleric priest at the end! If you succeed, build your item!

Rowan was shocked to see something that looked like a triangle off in the distance. Curious, he decided it was best to try and investigate this strange object, mainly because it was the first thing in this desert that did not look like everything else around it. After traveling for about an hour or so, Rowan finally made it up to the giant, triangle-shaped structure. It was golden in the sunlight and, upon closer inspection, was not a triangle at all. No, it was four triangles that converged and formed some strange structure that Rowan had never seen before in his life. "Well.... this is going to be interesting to write about." Rowan state, unsure of how he felt about this strange structure. Without the bear or any of the animal companions he had gained, it was sort of strange to come to a place like this all alone. Well, Alistair was with him, yet that did not seem as fulfilling as having the polar bear with him. The creature was starting to grow on him, and there was a bond there that could not form between two people. It was only something that an animal and its owner could form after going on an adventure or two.
"I'm actually kind of curious... let's go inside." Rowan stated, wanting to know what was inside of the structure. What they were met with, however, made him regret the situation entirely. They were these creatures that were wrapped in bandages from head to toe and limped around weakly. At first, he was unsure of what type of creature they were. That was... until he smelt the undeniable stench of rotting flesh. Yes... these creatures were a type of zombie that were simply wrapped up in dirty bandages. "Ugh... they smell awful. It's like the bandages are preserving how horrible they smell." Rowan commented, not sure if he could fight with such a stench in the air. Touching it out, however, he began to cut through the zombies as quickly as he could, aiming to decapitate them so that they would die instantly. "It's pretty lucky that we keep getting enemies like this. Zombies are probably one of the easiest things for me and you to kill." Rowan commented, trying to have a conversation with Alistair while the two of them made their way through the pyramid. With this many creatures in it, there was undoubtedly something decent at the end of this pyramid.
After cutting through well over thirty mummies, Rowan, and probably Alistair, made it into a giant room with a coffin-like structure in the middle of it. Mummies lined the room, standing perfectly still, while one stood in the center of the room staring out at them. "Who dares disturb our rest and steal our treasure!? You will join us here... forever..." It called out to the two of them, telling them what their punishment would be for trespassing. This pyramid had some strange things in it, and these creatures were some of the strangest ones Rowan had ever seen. They were zombies... yet they seemed to have been treated a lot better than other zombie. Whatever the case was, he soon began to cut through the zombies in the room with the coffin, trying to get rid of as many as possible. He was also relying on Alistair's help to get rid of any of the ones that he could not, hoping the old man had his back in this situation. "Looks like we might have come across something pretty good. I guess coming here was a pretty good choice, huh?" Rowan commented, taking out a few more mummies.

≎ 𝕬listair 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓚⓝⓘⓖⓗⓣ Alistair simply grunted "Mmm"s in response to his mention of finding water or something better. They weren't necessarily rude, in fact, these were grunts of accordance. How are you not remotely bothered by this? It would be soon that Rowan's hopes of better findings would be answered, not that either of them knew of it at first. The two men came across a large triangle-shaped structure made of a stone-like material Alistair could only assume was created from this sand given its color. His eyes lit up at the sight. It may not be an actual escape, but at least it was one from he sun. "At least it'll remotely get us out of this heat," he murmured following Rowan in. It didn't matter what this place yielded as long as it wasn't as hot as outside. It was almost instant gratification. The inside of this place felt significantly cooler, and Alistair couldn't help but let out an audible sigh of relief.
The scent of these things bothered Alistair about as much as the heat did Rowan. Living and working with Cheyenne for this long, preserving those passed. Stench was part of the job. These guys were significantly worse than usual, to be fair, but the utter relief the man was feeling outshone the scent. Whatever he had to fight, even if it was something this grotesque or boring, it was fine. Alistair even made the first move, chucking a charkram past the kid into one of the poor thing's face before its wound exploded with dust and it fell. "I hate to say it, but I have been subject to worse." When Rowan took off, Alistair did the same, either throwing or slicing with his weapons depending on where a creature was or how tougher it looked than the next. His level of patience was still pretty low, so he wanted to get through these things as quickly as possible. "Indeed. We may have had a more difficult time if we were forced to face an unknown enemy. I'd say that's a decent amount of luck right there."
Alistair was very unamused with the priestly, shaman-y, cler- Oh whatever religious icon it was supposed to resemble. It spoke very certainly about their demise while not being aware of its own. The Knight sighed a little before shifting his weight to the other foot. "Yeah, let's do this." He threw both his chakrams as Rowan began mowing down some of the zombies in the room. His weapons lodged themselves in the enemies' bodies, one in the head, one in the throat. Alistair charged forward, kneeing one in the guy before uppercutting its jaw into what remained of its skull before reaching over and plucking his blade from one of those that he'd initially attacked. "Coming in here..." he started before decapitating one of the mummies ..."was a good idea, yes." He wasn't going to pass out or die from heat stroke, and he got to take out some frustration on simple-minded creatures. Win, win.

Rowan was annihilating zombies when some magic blast came out of nowhere and struck Gram, throwing him backwards quite a ways. Standing up, he saw the mummy cleric from before pointing a staff at him and making some sort of chant in a language that he was not aware of. "Alright, since you can't wait your turn..." Rowan began, getting up from the ground as he stared venomously at the creature. He then, slowly, began to break into a run and began dashing through the other mummies. He was quick, his feet carrying him left and right as he dodged attack after attack after attack from the cleric. When he was close enough, he jumped into the air and came down at the creature, spinning with his sword out. The blade sliced through the creature, bringing an end to its magical tyranny. Alistair seemed to be cutting up the rest of the mummies, so Rowan decided to take it upon himself to search the rest of the room. What he discovered was two greaves that seemed to be laying in an empty coffin. "They were protecting these. Maybe they're important or something."
Rowan, curious, decided to put the greaves on and see what all of this hard work was for. At first, he did not feel any differently. Then, frustrated, he decided he wanted to leave the room, and, upon focusing on the doorway to the room, he teleported there instead. Surprised, he turned towards Alistair and then looked down to the boots, shocked by what had just occurred. "W... What is this? An armament?" Rowan asked... yet he already knew the answer to that. He would have felt some bond or connection if it had been an armament. Additionally, the power it was displaying was far less than what an armament was capable of. Rowan, still curious about it, decided to focus on the coffin on the other side of the room. He was instantly teleported over to it, almost causing him to fall over due to the sudden reappearance. "Alright... so that's how these things work. I'm going to have to keep that in mind." Rowan stated, making a mental note that he would have to try to not focus too much on specific places in battle. Finished, he gathered up his old boots and left the coffin room with Alistair.
"We'll camp here for now and head back out in an hour. We need to rest up and you look like you could use a break from the heat. Fighting these things probably didn't do you too much good, especially if you were already suffering from the outside temperature." Rowan stated, moving near the front but not walking outside the pyramid. Instead of setting up the usual stuff, he merely got out some food and sat up against a wall. He then began to eat and spend his hour trying to get used to his new boots. The fact that they allowed him to teleport was interesting, and the distance they went just made them absolutely fun. Rowan was almost starting to smile a couple of times as he teleported back and forth. Not focusing on certain places or people was actually pretty difficult though. It was not easy trying to notice something yet stay unfocused. Being a soldier, he was also very attentive of his surroundings, making that yet another problem he faced with these magic greaves. As long as he was careful though, he should be able to make use of these greaves one way or another.

All I am is a weapon, and that was all I was trained to be, since the beginning." Z.O.M.B.I.E.
