Previous Rank/Craft:
Western Weyr Wingrider, Healercraft Apprentice
Physical Description:
The first thing one notices about T'at is his height, and those eyes. Standing at a soild 6'3", well built, with a lithe set. His chest is strong, shoulders broad, and with long arms, long legs, and a body that most people would kill for, he really is an attractive male. T'at's hair is dark, almost pitch black in color, with small streaks of natural browns, and it's well trimmed in long layers, often slicked back from his face. His features are sharp, chiseled, with high cheek bones, and a broad nose, and thin, rosy lips that are a bit more deep than most mens' are. Those eyes are narrow, a piercing blue in color, with a ring of soft, pretty gold around the pupil. His posture is usually rigid, formal, and he's very quiet, rarely speaking, except to answer a question, or to interact for his Wing. Even with his tall, elegant build, though, he is able to be dead silent, thanks to his usually well-fitted clothing.
However, years have been harsher on T'at. His skin is darkened golden bronze from its original paleness, and is slightly sun-damaged, making it look a bit dry. Freckles are evenly spattered over the bridge of his nose. and his face, neck, and upper body are marred with scars, from his six years with the rogues. One thing is for sure, you can tell that T'at is a strong man.
Personality:
+/- Taciturn
It's rare to hear T'at speak. When he was younger, most thought he was mute until the young man finally started talking much later in his youth. While this was unusual for his parents, it was obvious that he had his reasons. T'at never speaks, if only due to the fact that he sees no reason. Unless you prove to him that you have something worth talking about, or something worth his time, unless you're his Wingleader, or someone within a higher rank of command. With his quiet nature comes a seriousness that can be almost terrifying. It's rare to see him smile, and even rarer to see him crack more than a small frown when he's speaking to one of his Wingmates. T'at is reserved in his reactions as well, unlikely to respond to anything with a quick hand, or even gestures. His tone is often monotonous, making things rather....hard to tolerate...until you get him passionate about something...Which though hard to do, has happened.
+/- Creative
Behind that silence, however, is the eye of an artist. T'at has a very big tendancy to think outside the box, rather clearly able see complex situations, and out of the box solutions. Ever since his youth, he was good at finding his way around more complex hold halls, and wiggling his way out of troule. Why? Because something about his ability to turn phrase when necessary has always been...exceptional. T'at's creativity stemmed into his activities as well, leading him to become a tattoo artist, often adding either permanent, or Henna marks to people's skin for pay. His own skin is only slighty tattooed, both marks that are well hidden from anyone else, unless he's shirtless. Anyways, back to the point. Not only does T'at's creativity stem through complex problem solving and his tattoos, but it also extends into a less reputable talent....Lying.
If need be, the boy is very good at spinning a tale that's so believable, it would probably pass his own mother. His mind is sharp and quick, and his answers will always be based on some grain of truth.
- Pent Up Agression
When T'at gets passionate about things, such as his Nessuth, and his stories, it brings out a side of him that....well, you can kind of see how he got where he is. Once you've broken that silence, it's quickly obvious that T'at can get over-agressive when he's in this state. His entire being becomes tense and it's not uncommon for him to get to the point of physical violence. Especially if you insult him, or his art. His entire life was put into studying enough that he could become a good Tattoo artist, and Henna artist, after all! It's obvious that he holds so much in, with his quiet nature, and even the strongest stone has its breaking point. T'at has been known in the past to throw a punch, and occasionally, something more dangerous. In his first few turns in the Rogues, this was a serious problem, since he was quick to turn into his passionm but time has tempered him into someone more strong to his silence.
+ Determined
There is not a thing he starts that T'at doesn't intend to finish. His heart is always 100 percent in everything, and this showed in how quickly he and Nessuth took to training. He took to it like a fish to water, and despite the fact that he often would get snippy with his teachers when they would correct him, he began to improve more and more. No matter what, his mind is always geared towards improving, getting better, and ensuring that any attached to him share his drive to move on. To T'at, the past is meant to remain in the past. Dwelling on it gives you no chance to build and grow, and so he shoves it all behind in order to become something more than what he is.
History:
He was born to a Rider father and mother. Thing was that he never really knew his parents that well. After all, most kids born to Riders aren't raised by their parents. Thanato was a child who enjoyed wandering, oft slipping about the Weyr as he pleased. It often worried those who watched him, mostly because the boy could go unnoticed, and seemed even better at getting into places that he shouldn't have been. It caused panic for his watchers, mostly due to the blooming temper that the young male had already displayed.
Over a few turns, they found that the boy had a passion for Healercraft. His creative mind helped him bring in outside perspective to the field, and think of combinations for things that would normally be outside of the box. However, that aggressive fire still burned, and he'd slip every now and again with particularly stubborn patients. One day, though, Thanato noticed a young man who had....strange designs over him. And it fascinated the boy. His attention drifted away from Healercraft, and began to focus on learning the arts of Henna and Tattoo. He was taught well, and had begun to try and set off on his own, when he was searched.
When he was 17, Thanato stood for his first clutch, and had honestly expected nothing to come of it, but when a little, tumbling ball of Brown came to sit in front of him, telling him that he was his Nessuth, well....Thanato was quick to realize that he now had someone he HAD to talk to. The new voice in his head was so strange, a foreign sensation as he felt the fact that this new little dragonet just seemed to pick up everything about him, all at once. His shock was...great, and the fact of the matter was that he was scared. Scared...but....at the same time...he understood. Knew that there wasn't a reason he should be so surprised, or so frightened. After all, his Nessuth was there for him. Nonetheless, the adjustment was...taking some time to getting used to. The little voice consistantly knowing what he was thinking....feeling....everything that he was holding on to. Hiding. The night after the Impression was when he got used to it, however. A nightmare had plagued him, causing young T'at to wake with a start, and a loud cry. The cry had startled Nessuth, but the little brown was quickly by His' side. The little body pressed against him, and that voice in his head, echoing comforts to his own doubts...well. That's when the young man found himself opening to this new world. A turn passed, and it became obvious that Ness had begun to temper the boy. It was rare to see the blue eyed Weyrling without his brown, one hand always on the other's neck, near him. It was even more rare that they were apart for even a moment.
The way Nessuth puts it, "Mine needed someone safe to talk to, who was just His."
However, there is only so much you can do to change someone's initial personality. T'at had continued his job, continued his work with tattoo long after his Riderhood, and when he was 20, shortly before he turned 21....he slipped up. A younger male had been agressively bullying the dark haired young male about a certain piece of ink he wanted done. T'at was uncomfortable doing it, and had consistantly refused, until one day, a shove pushed him over the edge. The Rider pushed the boy down in a chair and, using his knowledge of herbs and ink, poisoned the ink he intended on using. A sharp STAB easily dismissed as an 'accident' got the poison where he wanted it.
The boy died a few days later, and they traced the ink poisoning back to the Rider, leaving him without a home. Without a place. He'd been a promising Wingrider. Had it not been for Nessuth, T'at might've lost himself entirely. He is still not whole yet, haunted by what he's done, but he uses the stealth and skill that he and Nessuth have managed to accrue in the last 5 turns to...assist himself. To get the funds he needs to live....roughly anywhere.
Shortly after being removed from the Western Weyr, the two of them flew across to the Northern continent, selling their claws to anyone who might need it, or T'at's skills as a tattoo artist, keeping their past hidden as fully as they could. It was shortly before the rider intended for them to go to the Southern continent that Threadfall hit. The two were unsure of what to do, and while T'at said that they should run, take care of themselves, Nessuth had other plans. The brown insisted that they assist, despite his Rider's reservation. They assisted Benden Weyr as best they could, and it was all the Rider could do not to have a near heart-attack when thread caught at Nessuth's wings. Despite his anxiety surrounding Weyrs, the two spent a few months there, giving T'at a chance to tend his Dragon's injuries.
They have only left within the month, and are currently wandering with the intent of eventually checking High Reaches Weyr....perhaps to find a new home.
Other:
Now, T'at's repression of things comes back to bite him in the bum rather frequently. It comes in the form of really bad night terrors that often keep him up at night, unless Nessuth is right there with him.
He still tattoos to this day. Screw the past.
DRAGON

Name:
Nessuth
Age:
9 Turns
Color:
Brown
Size:
32.5'
Physical Description:
Nessuth is a beautiful brown. Though he is on the smaller side for his color, his color is a deep, rich chocolate, studded with warmer golds, and deep crimsons that vein to create his stunning shade. However, not all of Nessuth is marked thusly. At his wing-tips, and toes, as well as his muzzle, he's got a very pale peach tone, assumed to be sun lightening by some, but it is something that T'at insists is something he was born with. There are some markings that are distinct, showing the years that Nessuth has been in battle. His wing joint is marked with a deep scar, as well as one over his eye.
Personality:
Nessuth is the type of Dragon never to complain about his surroundings. He enjoys almost every little part of life, where his rider's sullen nature might otherwise sully it. When they first Bonded, it was Nessuth's intent to show him the beauty he saw every day. The Dragon will almost never complain, taking the tasks he's given with a willing 'Yes, Mine!' And likely, he's excited about it. Nessuth always looks on the bright side, and on the best of everyone. As far as he's concerned, everyone deserves a good smile, and pat on the shoulder with a wing....or hand, since he learned that clapping someone on the back can end with them flat on their face. Where another might extoll the horrors of a bad situation, Nessuth is the type to turn around and gladly tell you that at least they didn't lose TOO many people! They could have been hurt worse! It's never glass half-empty for the Brown. Never.
It is rare for Nessuth's mind to venture beyond the confines of simplicity of a first order. Once he has been given something to do, the dragon follows it with a single-minded determination, intent on ensuring that he follows it through until the end. It's even more rare that even His can pull him out of this mindset. At that point, T'at is just following along for the ride. However, this does him credit, as it allows him to always finish the tasks they are given. There is no moment that he is at that task that he will leave any part uncovered. Nessuth is infinitely passive, where his Rider is agressive. To combat T'at's temper, he is quiet, and thoughtful, often the sort to simply lay his head near his Rider when his temper begins to get the best of him. True, this trait can be troublesome when a battle comes to pass, as Nessuth would rather talk it out, unless T'at is threatened. He tends to not speak up too directly, more the sort to nose his Lifemate toward one direction or the other. Even in a fight, he relies more on T'at and his own ability to disappear, more than strength.
However, one thing stands true, that Nessuth is good with his words. The brown, when he does choose to speak, especially to other Dragons, is capable of pushing forth everything you want to hear, regardless of if he means it or not. It's highly amusing to him, the fact that it is this very trait that helps him temper his Rider so often. A part of his ability is that his turns of phrase are often very pretty, even the lies. After all...there's nothing that says a Dragon has to be honest to anyone outside His.
