It was like any other light, winter snow. It was chilly and clouds hung in the sky but if you looked up you could swear you could still see the stars. The snow falls gently and coats the ground in a light layer--but these aren't normal snowflakes. Mixed in with the regular snow, crystalized snowflakes seem to be falling. These are roughly the size of a quarter and are light and hollow. They are fragile, like glass, but glisten like a fine cut gem. No one can explain this anomaly, but these small snowflakes won't melt. And they are all over Destiny City. You can find them gently falling to the ground, or lying in the fresh fallen snow. They don't seem evil--but they do make for some cute keepsakes!
Damocles watched warily as the snow fell. It was pretty to look at, sure. Who didn't like a nice snow around Christmas? He supposed that it was rather nice to see the city and the surrounding areas covered in a semi constant state of snow. Even if it was, at times a little annoying when it build up. They'd figure out some way to get rid of it right?
So he hoped.
He'd lost track of how long he had stood there on the roof, just watching. Sometimes, he could catch the sight of a star or two, peeking out from behind the clouds. But the sight never lasted long. The snow had build up in corners. It plastered itself to windows and screens, it even clung to his uniform and hair. He found himself thankful for his uniforms layers, and the ridiculously long coat he donned every time. While the snow was nice, the freezing chill? Not so much. He tried to help out where he could. Shoveling walks, plowing side walks and drive ways... Just so people could get in and out from it all.
People seemed fascinated enough by the snow tho. Damocles recalled seeing various people turning the snow flakes in to keepsakes, works of art even. Incorporating the crystalline figures into every day things. Never let it be said that the people of Destiny City weren't creative... He did have to admit though, it was rather fun to watch Alistair's reaction to it all. One minute he was damning its very existence, the next he was cooing over how each one was different, before switching back. He often joked with the brunette, that he just had an addiction to shiny things. For his comment, he had earned a pillow being throw at his face.
But just because it was nice, didn't mean he had to trust it. He still remembered the shadow doppelgangers from a few years ago. There was even that fiasco during the New Years Eve event last year. It was anyone's guess if these strange snowflakes would get any stranger.
Was anyone worried what might become of this snow? Did anyone even care? There was a small part of Damocles that said to just ignore the city for once. Let the civilians handle their own problems for once. If they were stupid enough to fall for it time an time again, it was their problem. Not his. But that wasn't right. He knew that. That's why he was here, now. It wouldn't be fair to leave people who couldn't defend themselves to a problem, when he might have the power to stop it.
He sighed and watched as the mist was blown away by the wind. Guess there was no getting off easy. The blonde really hoped that these stranges snowflakes were just what they appeared to be and nothing more. But he supposed, that if anything did happen, the various Senshi, Knights and Negaverse Officers that called this place home would be there to handle it.
