From the guide - "Kitsune are a branch of youkai (foreign demon), who were once considered to be lesser deities. They are pranksters that like to flit around households and cause (light) havoc. They also have a penchant for hoarding. While they can take on a humanoid form their natural form is that of a multi-tailed fox."

Spies and saboteurs in varying shades of illegality, the members of Aaran’s clan focus on shadow manipulation and kitsune-tsuki (possession). Their shadow manipulations appear in hues ranging from shadow gray to abyssal black and often take the form of vulpine or monstrous limbs, all the better to frighten with.

Natural Ability:
Shadow Limb Generation - Aaran can shape the shadow he would normally cast into the form of a tail and a pair of extra arms. Being intangible and insubstantial, these extra limbs cannot interact with other objects or creeple, but 5-minute hand shadow puppet theater (or more fear-inducing variants thereof) is totally a go. With concentration, he can exert control over the phantom limbs’ movements and gestures. When his attention lapses or turns elsewhere, however, these limbs (the arms especially) have a way of semaphoring strong thoughts or emotions at the most inconvenient of times.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
It has long been the tradition of the clan elders to send eccentric expendable exceptional young kitsunes to train outside of the clan and bring back the wisdom of foreign schools, inferior (not really) though they are compared to the clan’s own training measures. So off Aaran went, with his mask, a new name, a modern wardrobe, and a simmering determination to make the most of his opportunities at Amityville Academy. Besting those high-and-mighty elders using the very training measures they scorned would be fun, no?


FEAR Ability:
*Searing Sunshower* (TF1) - At a gesture (dramatics optional) of Aaran’s shadow limbs, golden rain falls on the field of combat. Sure, the droplets look harmless, but they hide quite the lingering sting. Alas, accurate aim is not the forte of sightless phantom limbs, and more often than not, the rain falls nowhere near the target.
