Advertised around town on available bulletins, a carolling group has been requesting volunteers to join them. There doesn't seem to be any catches--it's just a fun little opportunity to spread some Holiday cheer while making some new friends! Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to--maybe, instead, you're the sort to chase carollers off your doorstep?

Hours of staring at the index card and trying to figure out who Millora was and if she actually knew her, and Sinead was getting nowhere. All she knew was what was on the card, the fact that she was in fact a she, and she was in the same grade. Did they have any classes together? Even that much Sinead didn't know. She was still just as lost as when she started contemplaing the secret santa event. Hours gone by and time was all too quickly running out. She had no idea even where to begin.
So she would have to swallow her pride and ask for help. Help that would be given gladly, but even though she would never outright say anything, it wouldn't be free. But Klara always had the best ideas... so perhaps just this once it wouldn't hurt to give in. And besides, while what she would ask so subtly, wouldn't hurt. She might not like to gather with a group of people she didn't know and go around singing songs of holiday cheer to those who would listen politely, or with indifference most of the time. Klara was good at finding places where at least they wouldn't be run off. But still, carolling. As soon as she was old enough to protest and actually make the deal, she had stopped following her aunt on her excursions, and she knew that somewhere deep down ( or maybe not so deep) it was something of a disappointment.
Decision made, Sinead took a deep breath to steel herself for what she was now going to do. One night – no more than two or three hours, that's all it would be – for some help with this school requirement. She could survive it, even if it was more than a little uncomfortable for her...
Grabbing her coat, scarf and gloves, she stuffed the secret santa card in her pocket and prepared to walk the short distance to the apothecary. Aunty Klara would be thrilled.
The walk was at once all too short and far too long. More than once she considered turning around, saying frick it all, and just half-assing her way through the gift. After all how many of her grademates would actually be putting any thought into their gift. But she, she just couldn't bring herself to do that. So here she was, staring at the door to the store she loved to spend time in, with dread rather than the happiness she normally felt.
'Suck it up Sinead, you can do this. It isn't like it's the end of the world or anything, right?'
The first thing Sinead noted when she took a step inside the door was an obnoxious bright red and green sign up. Not that this was unusual given the time of year, and the number of holiday events, but this was different. This was a call for volunteers to join a group of carollers to tour the Destiny City Hospital Cancer Ward, to sing for the kids, her aunt's current pet project. One she had been subtly and not so subtly hinting that she wanted to have Sinead join her on for weeks now. But to see the poster there, just after she had made her choice --- either her aunt was omniscient or she had heard about the gift exchange from someone else, or it was just some really creepy coincidence. Given how things had been going for her recently, Sinead went with the fact that this was some sort of sign from the universe. What it was about she had no idea, but she would go with it.
'Aunt Klara, are you still looking for more people to join you with the carolling thing?'
