Quote: Following the chaos at the Botanical Gardens, Destiny City Media went scrambling for info for the story. They were quickly met by road blocks from the Garden officials and zero answers from the research lab. That meant they turned to the guest list! They're looking for interviews, pictures, anything they can get their hands on! Are you interested in sharing your story? Those who were at the Fall Festival as well may question if they don't have a script for events like this now. Your character has been invited to answer a few basic questions--where were they when the plants attacked, what happened, and how do they feel about the safety of Destiny City now after two holiday related events? Your character can give an interview for any media they want. Or, maybe, you are the one conducting the interview! Jason sighed as he leaned against one of the columns that were outside of the Botanical Gardens building. He had just fought his way from attacking plants and just wanted to catch his breath. From what he could tell, while people were hurt, including him though not very badly, no one had died so that was a good thing. But he wondered about such things happening in this city. This was the second time going to a large event and getting attacked randomly and he was starting to wonder what was going on. While he was catching his breath though, it seemed that he had caught the attention from an over-eager reporter. She could see the cuts on him and knew that he had been in the building during the attack. Signaling to her cameraman she ran up to him, microphone in hand, almost sticking it in his face before he even realized she was there. "You were there during the attack right? What happened in there? What were you doing when the plants attacked? Do you still think the city is safe after an attack such as this?" Jason grimaced, really not wanting to be on camera right now. He didn't mind being filmed, but he didn't want to be forced into it either.

It had probably been a good thing that Jada had never been overly fond of flowers and trees- and even more lucky that she hadn't been there when the plants "attacked" everyone else. She'd entered the room at the tail end of it all, drawn by screaming. If she'd been there at the beginning, she might have pulled a superman and tried to crush the damn thing with tentacles. The flash of light still had her blinking, but apart from a little itching around the eyes, she didn't feel anything.... yet. Shaking her head as she moved from the building, Jada Chamberlyn put on her 'socialite' face, smiling sweetly as she shoved away one of the cameras aimed at her face. Not how she wanted to spend her evening, thanks. Just off the top of her head she could think of 15 things more fun than giving a frazzled interview in the snow, and only one of them involved anything other than cocoa, a blanket, and a really crappy children's movie. Alas, those plans would likely need to be put on hold. She could drive, but almost everything looked to be blocked in. With a heavy sigh, she leaned her head against a cold column, feeling an ache coming on behind her eyes and appreciating the slow chill and constriction behind her lids as her body battened down against the cool that was slowly working its way over her flesh. "You were there during the attack right? What happened in there? What were you doing when the plants attacked? Do you still think the city is safe after an attack such as this?" The woman's voice was grating, and Jada bared her teeth in irritation. What was more irritating was that it was someone else being assaulted by that shrill, and someone who wasn't answering back. Which meant that the news had taken to attacking innocent passerby who just wanted to get out of the latest Destiny City Death Trap (a title which was probably trademarked, if everyone was perfectly honest with themselves.) A glance over showed her that the other party was a grimacing teenage boy, and she rolled her head on her neck, observing for a moment. He didn't seem overly eager, and the reporter didn't seem the type to let cornered prey escape, so Jada decided to give them something meatier to try and dig their teeth into. “Most people here were probably there when the plants attacked. What happened in there? Well, I'd assume the plants attacked.” her smile was toothy, and not at all her 'modeling' smile which she would normally show to someone with a camera. She didn't have time for that nonsense right now. “As for the safety of our city, don't you put any faith in our trusty public servants? Our police officers and our first responders did everything they could be expected to do in a situation like this, don't you think? Now, if you'll excuse us.” She put her arm on the boy's shoulder, steering herself between him and the camera, ignoring the flash of pain behind her eyes. Jason was just about to say to the lady to back off but before he could he was saved by, and he had to admit, a pretty good looking woman. She seemed to be tired of the reporter's nonsense too and was glad that someone had stepped in. He gave her a smile when she seemed to protect him from the camera flashing. "Thanks. I'm glad you helped me out of that. I don't really like reporters trying to get a scoop after such an awful thing happening." He remembered they did the same thing when the bats attacked, but luckily his brother had gotten him out of there quite quickly, though being put in an ambulance probably helped with that. He looked back and it seemed that the reporter had gone off to try and find a different target to attack. He sighed in relief. "Glad she's gone. Fighting those plants seemed to really drain me and I was not in the mood to be interrogated like that." He looked back at her, blushing a bit. "I'm Jason."

"Reporters and Lawyers are parasites sent to plague us," Jada's teeth flashed with humor. "Like roaches, but with opposing thumbs." She'd a high opinion of neither, except that they came in handy every so often. Turning her head to look at the younger male, Jada nodded to him. "It's my pleasure. I've got a little brother, and I don't think I'd want him getting trapped by that werewolf either." Though Lucas probably would have been a bit more aggressive in his escape path. Chewing off his own arm or leg to escape would be more literal than she might approve of. Fighting those plants seemed to really drain me. Her jaw clenched in an effort to keep from scowling (or smiling) at the ironic choice of words. What about this town didn't drain people? (Why had she come back here, again? It was going to become her mantra, she was certain.) "Nice to meet you, Jason. I'm Jada." the flush on his cheeks from his exertion fighting the plants made her brow furrow a bit. "Do you have a car, or someone coming to pick you up?"

Can't say I disagree with her. He thought. Both of reporters and lawyers these days seemed to be getting worse and worse. He had his own share of dealing with them, or at least seeing his mother deal with them. He and his brother didn't seek out the attention. He nodded towards her, glad she wasn't just going to save him and run off. "Nice to meet you too Jada." Better to repeat someone's name back to them, it would stick in his head better. "Well, I'll need to check my phone, but if my brother has been paying attention, he's probably already on his way here to pick me up. Though I'll call just in case too." His brother was probably just as protective as Jada. "I think I'll be fine for now, or at least I'm going to get out of sight of any other vultures that might want to get 'my story'. Not that it would be much different than what you said. The plants attacked, that's it." What else could he say? That the scientists were probably wanting it? He smiled at Jada again. "Thanks for saving me once more. Glad to see some people helping others at least."Infinities All right, one more post to close it up?

Jada leaned back against a pillar as Jason spoke, crossing one high-heeled shoe over the other and turning her attention to the hungry pack of reporters prowling around. And then she sneezed, startling herself. "Go ahead and check your phone," she assured him, rubbing her hand over her sinuses, ignoring the wave of faint, light-headed dizziness that had followed. With everything else, she was probably coming down with an allergy to demon poinsettias. "If he is on his way, we can try and meet him somewhere in the middle. With this place turning into a rabid reporter parking lot slash hunting ground, I'd hate to leave you alone just to make my escape. I can walk you to a coffee shop past the perimeter, or drive you if needed." A story of 'the plants attacked' would entertain the reporters for only so long before they kept pushing and pressing for answers. her lips curved, returning his smile. "It's my pleasure. It's what I do in my spare time." Put a cape on her and call her super model. ........ No, she wasn't going there. SSBrosB can do, if you want, or we can drag it out. A nice quick and dirty intro never goes amiss, though biggrin

Jason nodded and quickly got his phone out of his pocket and checked it. Yep, Tom was definitely worried. He thought as he looked at the voicemail and text message that were left on the phone. The latter told Jason that his brother would be there soon to pick him up, though Tom didn’t have a car to drive, but he could at least rent one or bring some warmer clothes for Jason to go back in. Jason frowned a bit, just now remembering that he had left his coat in the building. Of course he was panicking so it wasn’t surprising but still, he hoped he could get it later. “Well, if you want we can meet my brother at a nearby place. Just name it and I’m sure he’ll know where it is. He’s been in this city longer than I have.” He replied, moving his gaze back towards her. He was finally starting to feel the cold and wanted to get moving to… well somewhere that wasn’t here.

Jada pulled out her phone while Jason reviewed his, scrolling through and checking the time. The babysitter for Aidan and Giulia wasn't going to be expecting her back yet, so she would have time to make sure Jason got to his sibling, or his parents; wherever he needed to go. She did send a quick check-in, however. If they were watching the news (which she doubted) she didn't want anyone worried by this potential Breaking News story and her lack of communication. Pressing the volume up on her phone, she nodded to Jason as he spoke. "Sure, that works fine for me. If there's an all-night breakfast place between here and your home, we can meet there? I could go for some comfort bacon." she dug around in her clutch, pulling out her key ring. It was smaller than it used to be. Now, only three things were on the ring. Car fob, House key, and a gold infinity symbol that said Hope. "Got everything you need?"

Jason quickly texted his brother asking about such a location and he soon got a reply back from him. “Yeah there seems to be one a couple of blocks from here, in the western direction. My brother gave me an address and a couple of directions. We can meet him there.” Breakfast food sounded good. He hadn’t gotten to eat much at the event. A bite of potatoes wasn’t enough to fill his stomach after all. He faced her once again. “I’m ready to go whenever you are. I’ll have to get my coat from inside later. I don’t even want to try going in there again until it’s safe.” And those freaky plants are gone. He thought giving her a nod and a smile and straightening himself up a bit. It looks like she might be driving him, which would be nice. He wasn’t sure if he could walk for too long. At least his dorm room wasn’t too far from here.

"Couple blocks west. Got it." the fact that Jason didn't want to go in and get his coat shouldn't have surprised Jada, and his explanation made sense. Too fresh a memory, she supposed; not enough safety in numbers. She could have offered to go and get the coat for him, but her eyes were feeling warm and puffy, and she needed to get him inside or better clothed soon. he was looking a bit cold, and her older sister instincts were kicking in. Holding out an arm, she silently offered to let him in closer to her warm, fuzzy coat. Not inside, but next to. "My car heats up quickly," she assured him, "And we'll get some warm food in you. Let your brother know it may take us a bit to get out of this lot but I'll get you there safely." one arm lifted, pointing to the parking area. "I am kind of glad I didn't valet tonight. I took the extra walk for the mental security of knowing where my car was." As they approached the jag she hit the remote start, so it wouldn't be cold as death when they got there. SSBrosB you can handwave the getting in the car and getting to food. It is fancy car. It is warm.

Jason was thankful for the coat offering, but had had to decline it. He wasn’t a very touchy person when it came to people he didn’t know. Also he was pretty sure he would embarrass himself in some way. Better to just avoid that situation. The car was nice though and Jada had been right, her car had warmed up pretty quickly. He had been a bit sad to leave it once they had gotten to the right place. But the food made up for the warm absence. Or at least as much as waffles and french toast could when it came to warmth. Yeah, it was pretty sugary and fattening but if he was allowed to get breakfast for dinner… He would just have to make it up in the morning with something healthier. He smiled quite happily as his food was placed in front of him. His brother would be there soon. Infinities Well that one wasn't very dialogue filled XP

The kid didn't want to share her sleeve, and she couldn't much blame him; it would be awkward, but now it just put her in a bit more of a rush. By the time they got to the jag, the seats were already warming; it didn't take as long as she had worried about to make it out of the lot. A surprising amount of people were still trapped behind, waylaid by reporters. Within half an hour they were at the restaurant, and she and Jason had cocoa and warm food on the way. Her eyes were aching, and her head throbbing. Pushing a bill across the table at him- $50 should be enough to pay for a meal at a place like this, for him, and the leftovers she was abandoning- she pressed her head into her hands briefly. "I'm going to go home. I'm feeling... really strange. I want to get home before it-" she sneezed, and for a moment, everything was clear before the pain returned. "-gets any weirder. Don't let any reporters bite, okay?"
