It didn't take long for an order energy signature to appear on his radar and, immediately interested, he forgot about kicking snow and made his way straight towards it.
He didn't recognize the Senshi when her colors came into view, but he waved and called out in greeting, "Senshi! Hello. This weather is too cold for vagrancy, what are you doing?"

Kari had been following what she thought was a…a rabbit? A white rabbit. Suddenly her life had turned into a cold Alice in Wonderland story, and she was intrigued. The stupid thing looked like a rabbit that had escaped from someone’s home…or maybe that had escaped from some large cosmetics firm, trying to escape into the wild before having to undergo more tests and torture with lipstick and cream…
It was a good deed to at least…figure out where the creature had come from, right? And it was her duty to do good deeds. She was a senshi, after all…and senshi did good things. All good things. All good things.
Of course, as it always did when her mind was preoccupied with other interests, the moment that a voice spoke out, breaking the silence of the night almost caused the girl to have a heart attack. Kari jumped half a foot into the air, covering her chest with a hand and whipping around, staring at the lieutenant that was before her.
…Did he just call her homeless?
As always in this situation, the only the most eloquent speech fell from the senshi’s lips, and she almost stupidly pointed at where the rabbit had been. “I…I was following a rabbit.”

Lopezite blinked, seeming a bit surprised. "A rabbit? Why?" he asked after a moment. He continued to approach, glancing at the area where she'd pointed.
"...Rabbits are very quick. You'd be better if you had a partner, maybe you could corner it and get closer?"
He glanced at her.
"I'll make you an offer. A fight, if you were. I want to see your magic. I don't quite understand how Senshi summon it, and I'd like to see it for myself. If you humor me--if you give me a quick fight--I'll help you get the rabbit. Deal?"
He was even so courteous as to extend a hand, intending to shake upon it.

“Well, I don’t know why, really...it just...seemed like the right thing to do...Who even knows what sort of adventures it could have been leading me to.” She seemed confused, and slightly overwhelmed at his...desire to fight? He wanted to see her magic? That...was odd...very odd. Maybe he had magic for himself? Maybe he could find a way to steal her magic?
“I...That’s a rather odd request, don’t you think…? I...I mean why would you want to fight someone? What if my magic is super deadly and you wind up…dead or something? That would suck, I think.” She wanted to catch the rabbit though...and he was offering to help...and honestly, could a fight really hurt her? Well, it could hurt her, a lot actually...but, but if he wasn’t being an a** and was honestly curious…
It could only help her to get stronger...and lord knew she needed that. “But...Yeah I guess that’s fine then. I’ll fight you, or something. And then we’ll get the rabbit and then I’ll know uh...what’s really down the rabbit hole, I guess.”
Kari gave a small smile and took the lieutenant’s hand, half expecting him to start draining her energy. Well, she did know that something was strange about this whole thing at least.

Lopezite laughed and shook her hand. "Thank you. And, since this is time sensitive, I will be quick! Usually I like a three move match--I get three chances to attack you, and you get three for me. Then we end. But I think one should be good enough."
He drew away quickly, intent on getting his end of the deal out of the way so they could get the rabbit before it was gone forever.
"My only request is that no attack go to the face. I find those to be the most difficult to explain. And, if your magic is deadly?" he offered a quick grin. "Please don't aim to kill."
A moment later, he took a battle stance and summoned his worn sheath of a weapon.
"Are you ready? If you can, I will give you first move. Let me see if I can reach you before your magic reaches me?"

She felt a rising sense of panic as the lieutenant got ready to fight. Oh…she…she really wasn’t good at this…and she still really wasn’t completely sure just what her magic did and how it did what it did…she just knew how to point her hand and say the words…and normally whoever she was attacking…stopped and said how it hurt…so it hurt them or something.
God…was that a sword? Did he have a sword? Was she about to get run through and killed all because she was chasing a stupid rabbit?
“Y-yeah okay. I…okay.”
Kari held her hand up and drew in a breath. “Let’s do this. Loyalty Hurts!” Of course she could hit him before he reached her…but would her magic do anything? Or did she say it right?
Fights were hard.

"It's okay!" Lopezite reassured just before he charged at her. The pain set in halfway there, but it was strange. At first it felt like an ache and it slowed him down, and then it felt like a warm fire was growing over him. It slowed him down--but it didn't stop him. He reached her with his sheath and managed to poke her in the stomach with it--harmlessly, just for show--before he lowered it and dismissed it.
His head was swimming and his body ached, so he rested his elbow on her shoulder.
"That--oh, that is not pleasant. What is that?" he asked, rubbing at his skin as it ached. "--Does that go away? I regret asking to see your magic. My head is pounding."
He didn't seem too shaken up or angry though, just commentating on what he was feeling. He seemed friendly enough, and like he wasn't trying to impose any harm on her--especially since he was currently using her as a stand to hold himself up.

“I…I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you…” Honestly she didn’t like hurting anyone, and his words were making her feel awful. “I think it goes away…It should go away. I’m sorry…”
Kari looked at him, feeling quite nearly ready to cry. “A-anyway that’s my magic, I guess…you wanna go and catch that rabbit now?”
She didn’t want to move, for fear of him falling over. But if he couldn’t stand…just how was he going to help her find the rabbit? Or catch the rabbit? If he couldn’t even stand…How did her magic get that strong? How strange. Or maybe…maybe he was just faking to make her feel better? Yeah, that was possible.
“Where do you think it got to?”

Lopezite's laugh was strained, but after a few seconds he drew away and flashed a smile. "You don't have to apologize, I'm feeling better already." He was a little sore, but as the magic receded, he was able to stretch and roll his shoulders.
In doing so, he spotted a furry little tuft underneath the bushes, not very far from where they were. "--Is that it?" he asked, pointing to the rabbit. "...I can go around, get it from behind--maybe even give it a scare, spook it out towards you?"

Kari nodded. “That would be a good idea, you frighten it and it’ll run towards me and…well, maybe I’ll be having myself a new pet rabbit or something.” She paused, then shrugged. “Or maybe I could just…keep following it, since that was my plan in the first place. I mean…I appreciate your help, but…that sort of ruins the fun of it, maybe I think.”
Plus she didn’t want to keep associating with lieutenants…it wasn’t good for her, not at all. She already had a crush on one, there was no need to add another to that list…even though this one looked so nice with his hair all flippy like that and…
And no. No, no, no.
The senshi gave a little, half startled laugh and walked over to the rabbit, bending down and reaching for the little creature. She was expecting the rabbit to run…not sink its sharp little teeth into her arm. “Jesus ******** hell.” Kari drew her arm back quickly, clamping her hand over the bite and moving as far away from the demon rabbit as she could, thoughts of the rabbits from Monty Python and the Holy Grail flashing through her mind.
“I uh…nevermind. I guess…following rabbits isn’t a good idea after all…but what did I really expect, right? I…I should go…it was great meeting you, uh. Yeah…thanks, and I do hope you’re okay…”
Her arm was hurting really bad and…and it felt so…so cold for some reason. She felt cold.
What an awful thing to have happened. Now she looked even more stupid.
Looking at the lieutenant once more, she gave a grimace and took off at a run. Stupid, stupid. Why did she have to be so ******** stupid?

Lopezite seemed a little surprised but watched as Kari ran off. He wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but he lifted his hand in a slight wave. "Okay," he said uncertainly. "Nice to meet you, bye..."
She had seemed like a good enough person; Senshi weren't so awful, at least, judging by the ones he'd met. He didn't want to trust the Negaverse on blind faith, but so far, he couldn't tell what was so awful about them.
For now, he would just have to keep collecting information and figure out what he could about them.
Still...this had been a little more odd than his usual meetings.
He kept one brow raised and watched for a moment before he shook his head and started off towards home.
It was too cold to think out here--and he didn't want to stick around in case that bunny tried to come back for seconds.
